Baltic Winters Sled Dog Association: Rescue Round Up

This girl was found starving and close to death when we found her after a hurricane came through her home town. She was already fixed when we got a hold of her, and it is believed that her owners had to evacuate without her, now she has severe separation anxiety.

best friend;; Danica was told that after the hurricane when Freya was found, she was found in a corner, shivering in fear and cuddling with a stuffed pig. She was very upset to have left it behind when she rescued, so it must have been special. Since she seemed sad 99% of the time when she came home with Danica, Danica decided to go to the pet store and got a stuffed pig toy. It took Freya a little to get used to it, but she did and now clings to it like a life source. Freya never goes anywhere without her pig, whom we named Piglett, in honor of the well known piglet from Winnie the Pooh, which Freya seems to be a fan of watching. She seems to know her toy had a name because if she gets excited and leaves it (for example) in her bed, if you say something like, "where's Piglett" shell run to go fetch it and squeeze it a few times before dropping it at your feet, panting. Back to the name origin, Winnie the Pooh is always one of the first things Danica goes to to calm Freya if shes nervous or over excited. She grabs her Piglett and will sit and wath it, and couldnt be bothered with anything else until it gets turned off. Danica's guess as to why she likes Winnie the Pooh id because the friendly little pig character has the same name as her precious toy. She assums this because everytime the name is mentionrd on the show she will wag her tail a few times before resting it again. A funny thing that goes along with this is Freya will be doing something, could be anything and it someone is talking about baby pigs (and says the word piglet) or the TV says it or something she perks her ears and runs to where ever the source of the word came from. It can be quite amusing at times. One time my friend Phina was over, we were talking about something, I said piglet by accident and Freya, (who had her back turned, playing with Piglett) instantly stood up, looked at us for a second then ran over. Don't get it wrong, she knows her own name is Freya, because if you call her, she'll come, but if you ask about Piglett, she'll grab it before coming over and drop it at your feet. So, long story short, her best friend is her pig stuffy, Piglett.
