Iridescent walked
into a small cave
with a lantern in
her mouth. She
was going exploring
as usual and was
hoping to find some
jewelry, special rocks
or possibly some water
because she was feeling
thirsty. She put her paws
to a halt and looked at the
view of the cave. "Wow....."
she whispered to herself.
The cave glistened with fresh
droplets of water on the ground
and gloworms hanging on the
ceiling. "I could get used to this.."
She sat down and got a closer
look at the beauty. Imagine if
everyone saw this! she thought.
She took mental notes of the
area and glanced around until
she saw some bugs. She took
them in her paw and smiled.
Then she calmly let them go.
As the legs of the bugs landed
on the rock a slight shake of the
earth was felt. "Woah! Hey little
guy, calm down." she chuckled
but could feel sweat trickle. Then
another shake, she kept quiet.
Then a huge shake, it was an
earthquake! "Okay, I'm outta here!"
she bolted to the entrance but the
quake cause the rocks to fall.
She was trapped. It wasn't
long before a rock landed on
her head and she was knocked out.
Hello, hello? Ma'am? The police
department got no answer.
She slowly faded into darkness.
Iridescent was confused and
started to panic and could feel
her heart race. Ok, ok. I'm just
knocked out. When she could
see again she saw some sort
of glass in front of her. "What the...?"
she slowly placed her paw over
the glass. It ripple blue, red, pink,
and purple before returning back
to normal. The kalon quickly got
her paw back. Suddenly, a strange
person walked in front of the glass,
fixing himself and was in a tuxedo.
"Hey mister!! Help me! I'm stuck in
glass!!" Iridescent shouted. But
the guy just combed his hair.
"Helllloooooo??" she asked
impatiently. She graoned then
her eyes widened. I must be in
one-way mirror. She hit the
glass but it just rippled. She
sighed as she tried over and
over again. As the man left
she could feel that she was
getting sucked out. "Finally!"
but instead of becoming a
kalon, she became a jewel.
The brooche of a golden
leaf on the tux became
blue and pink. She was
transported into the brooche.
"Aw, c'mon!" but the guy
just walked and went to a party.
The guy danced, talked and
laughed. And for some reason,
Iridescent could feel everything
he felt. His happiness, his
tiredness.... And his sadness.
Without any explanation
she knew that he had a
brother at home who
missed him.. After an
hour, she was back to the
mirror. This time a
teenage girl showed up.
She fixed herself and
adjusted her glasses. "Oh no..."
she was sucked out once again.
This time the glasses that were
grey became blue and pink.
Iridescent could see everything
the girl saw. And she could feel the
pressure. The girl went to school
and she caught sight of a poster
for an art contest. "Ohhhhhh!"
Iridescent was intrigued.
Once the contest started
she saw the girl's talent.
She was amazing but her
hands shook and she
could feel her nervousness.
Before she could find out
who'll win, she was back to
the mirror. The last person
who walked by was an old
man. Probably in his sixties.
He fixed his hat and tucked
in his shirt and carefully shined
his cane. The man sighed and
left. Iridescent was transfered
to his watch. The man walked
to a park and sighed. "Huh?"
Iridescent couldn't feel anything.
Not yet. The man sat down on
a bench and for ten minutes,
did nothing. Didn't think, didn't
look at anything. Then the man
opened his satchel and got an
album. He opened it and saw
dust fly off. The man chuckled.
He moved the pages and saw
him with a young boy. Maybe
his grandson. And a teenager.
And a baby. The man was
thinking of a sweet melody.
And Iridescent knew that the
melody was sang by his mother
when he was a young boy. Soon
a car parked by and a man in a
tux showed up, a young girl with
glasses.... And a little boy.
"Grandpa!!" The little boy
shouted and hugged the old
man. He chuckled again. "Hey
grandpa. " the man in the tux
smiled. "I went to the reunion for
you, I know you have to rest up!"
He kissed the old man's cheek.
"Hi grandpa! I didn't win the
contest," the girl frowned. "But
I got extra credit in art class
anyway!" she smiled and hugged
her grandfather. They sat down
beside him and looked at the album.
The old man finally felt something.
And so did Iridescent. He was happy.
Then he whispered. "Thank you Iridescent,
for sharing this happy moment with me."
Then all faded to black.
"Ma'am! Ma'am! Get the paramedics!"
someone shouted at her. She felt woozy.
With a sprained ankle and a few bruises
she sat up. "What the?" Iridescent held
her head and was helped by the medics.
"An earthquake happenned." the medics
explained. She was brought inside an
ambulance and given a blanket. She
sipped some hot chocolate.
"Woah."
