-----Cool silence welcomed me as I stepped into the inviting darkness and still air of the cave mouth. After double-checking that my gear was tightly attached and would not hinder my progress, I continued forward confidently down the sloped path into the depths of the mountain. This was my third cave in New Zealand, and though I’d been told I should bring a companion for safety, I felt experienced enough to go alone.
----As the cave entrance disappeared behind me, the darkness grew thicker, the air more chill. Almost reluctantly, I switched on my headlamp so that I might be aware of any danger ahead. The light startled bats sleeping overhead and several screeched softly at me as they flitted into a crevice and out of sight.

----Within an hour I’d travelled deep inside the mountain, I could almost feel the weight of millions of tons of stone pressing down over my head. I paused for a moment, breathing in the still air and reveling in the complete absence of sound. I knew I’d soon reach the cavern I’d come here to visit and continued moving forward once more, suddenly anxious.
----There was only one final obstacle in my way, a thin crack barely wide enough for the smallest plumerian to fit through, and nearly fifty feet deep. I stared at the crack for a long time, attempting to build up my courage enough to try my luck. If I started in and got stuck, there would be no one around to rescue me or go for help. I would be trapped until another spelunker came to visit this cavern, and who knew how long that would be.

----Sucking in a breath, I slipped sideways into the crack, wriggling and squirming to keep my body moving. My breathing became shallow as I realized that there was not enough room for my lungs to fully expand and I winced as my headlamp scraped the wall as I tried to look back. I’d made it to what I figured was the halfway point when my light flickered once and went out.
-----The darkness was consuming, the silence screamed as my breathing quickly became ragged with panic. I couldn’t raise my paw to try and fix the light as it was stuck in an uncomfortably awkward position near my belly. Closing my eyes I fought hard to dispel the fear that gripped me.

-----The words echoed in my mind even as I took another step. Panic would not help me escape, I needed to stay calm and keep going. I continued squirming through the crack in utter darkness, unsure how much further I needed to go to get out or whether I’d be able to get out at all.

-----And then it happened, a soft glow lit the edges of the crack and I could see my way out. I was almost there! Carefully I edged my way toward the light, knowing I’d found it. One last breath and I staggered free of the crack and into the enormous cavern. I didn’t reach for my lamp now, instead, I fell back and marveled at the beauty above me. Millions of tiny lights, bunches and clusters of beautifully brilliant stars! Not stars, no, this milky way of light was the light of glow worms!

-----The lights shimmered off the underground lake that filled half the immense cavern and I smiled. Of all the caves I’d explored, this was easily the most worth it. Crystals and stalactites were great, but this stony cave sky was… breathtaking!

Jordan absolutely loves animals. Because of this, he has grown to be a caring and loving plumerian. He couldn't even hurt a fly. Jordan wants to be a zookeeper when he gets older, but for now he works on his aunt's goat farm. Jordan also gets some traits from his father. He was an energetic child, and he still is. No matter what you do, you can never get the energy out of him. This is good because when working, he can do a good chunk of the manual labor. Nobody can really get him down either.
Jordan's Trip to the Goat Farm:
Whine, whine, whine, that's all kids do these days. The Disney children just wouldn't stop whining throughout the horrible 2 hour car drive. By the time that they had arrived at their destination, the kids were practically screaming. Jordan got out of the car excitedly, just to look out and see only a farm. Warren and Venus were already running to the house, but the kids just slouched the way there. After the door was answered, they were introduced to their second cousin. After that, they went to do their own thing. The cousin looked over and saw that Jordan wasn't having too much fun. She knew he adored animals, so she snuck him into the backyard when nobody was looking. When Jordan got outside, he started to tear up. There were literally goats everywhere. He had gone to pet every goat possible. The family went outside and were also amazed. Warren laughed as he watched his son go from goat to goat petting each and every one. After a while, Jordan had finished all of the goats, but noticed one following him. They walked to a nearby bench, and Jordan spoiled the goat with love. Warren came over with a little bandana from his cousin , and put it on little Jordan. Jordan asked if he could keep the goat that had followed him, and Venus jumped into the conversation telling him yes right before Warren could speak. The family spent the rest of the day there, and then they made their way back home. On the entire way home, the kids whined of course, except Jordan, who was begging to go back. Little did he know that the goat farm was to be his home in a mere 4 years.
