Mephisto's first day here:
The sun was barely out and Mephisto was already up and awake in his stall. Mephisto got here last night but he was still energetic. He neighed and whinied, wanting nothing but to get out and have fun in the pasture. The other horses just looked at him just exploding with energy. I finally headed into the barn with a tired yawn, slowly releasing the horses into the pasture in twos. Mephisto was in one of the last few stalls so when he saw the other horses trotting out, he was getting anxious.
When I finally got to him, he licked my hand playfully and headed to the pasture to join the others. After a while of grazing, he started to admire the scenery. Lush greenery everywhere you look, the sun behind the clouds so it wasn't too hot. The morning wind blew through his mane while the crisp morning air fills his nose. It was a beautiful day. Soon, the other horses were done with their grazing and was starting to get a bit restless. Mephisto caught on that and decided to play and gallop with them. The herd took off, going rounds around the big open pasture and kicking about.
Sure he doesn't know all of them yet but they're all pretty friendly towards him and he's thankful for that. They spent the entire day together just galloping, grazing and enjoying the herd's company. By sun down, Mephisto himself was quite tired. In his stall, he was happy knowing that he has found a place he could call home, surrounded by many new friends.
