What does the feather mean to him?
The feather Jay wears is very important to him. The feather tells him that whatever problem he has to face, there's always a reason. It also reminds him that even when he's blue, something like kindness will cheer him up soon - for without a little rain there can not be a rainbow.
How they got their feather:
It was on an autumn evening and Jay was sat underneath a tree. He had just experienced his first heartbreak when the girl he had loved picked a different path. He was close to tears, but right as his eyes welled up, a small bird in the branches above him fell in attempt to fly. He managed to catch the small bird in his furry tail, and the bird lost one of its longer tail feathers during the fall. He kept the feather to help him remember that even when things seem tough for him, a little kindness towards someone else can cheer him up.
