Space was one of the biggest things in Venus's childhood. Everything she owned was either based off of galaxy print or planets. Of course, because of all of her family loving space, she assumed everybody loved space. After learning that not everybody loved space, she toned down her galaxy obsession. When Venus got into her teenage years, she found her love for running. Soon enough, the galaxy stuff slowly went away and was replaced with sports and running stuff. By the time she graduated high school, almost all of her galaxy stuff was gone except for a few special objects; her galaxy running shoes, a galaxy bow that her father had made her, and a galaxy snow globe. Now these days she has grown out of loving space, and probably likes the least out of her entire family. She still loves it though, since it was a large part of her childhood. Every time she runs a race, she wears the galaxy shoes for good luck. She also still keeps the other two objects she kept from her childhood in a safe spot underneath the stairs in her house. Venus' main passion has always been outer space ever since she was a little girl. Being close to her father, Comet, she picked up his passion for space quickly, and she was always interested in his job as an astronomer. She frequently asked him questions and her favorite day of the year was bring-your-daughter-to-work day. She wants to follow in his footsteps and be an astronomer just like him. While she would love to actually visit space, she's not brave enough to be an astronaut. However, she greatly respects her favorite brother, Neptune, for being one. She isn't the least bit jealous, she's only proud.
As of yet, her dreams haven't been realized, but she makes sure to keep space as a hobby in the hopes that someday she will get her dream job. She has a collection of meteorites that she is always adding to and a telescope that she frequently peers into. Always looking into space, she never ceases to be amazed at how small she is compared to the vastness of space and all of the stars that inhabit it. She often raves to her friends about space, finding their lack of excitement about the subject absolutely insane. Plumerians should be much more excited about this!

Space. The final frontier. Venus always dreamed of going to space, exploring it...
but she knew that that dream was one just too unreasonable for her. She settled
for staring at the night sky each night, and learning mythology and stories about
the stars, but her longing to reach for them never faded. Venus believes that when
she dies, maybe her dream will come true, and she'll be able to roam through the
vaccuum of space without worries, without cares.

Until then, Venus always has has her books. And nothing with stop her from writing
about space adventures or sky bound lovers.

"Space? Oh, gosh, it's wonderful..."

Space has always fascinated Venus since she was small, and Comet would show her the stars often. But, Venus admits that her love of space was never quite as large as Comet's. However, that does not mean that she didn't love space at all; quite the opposite really. It just meant that she would never make a career of it.

"I'll look at them all the time when I travel, the stars I mean. They remind me of home."

Venus quite often looks at the stars on her travels and carries a constellation guide whenever she's traveling, that way she can mark the ones she's seen in other places when the stars are aligned correctly. And whenever an opportunity arises, she will take a telescope in the backyard when she's home and look at the faraway planet Venus; her namesake. She would also take the children outside with Warren when they were younger and teach them everything she knew about space, like Comet did with her. She's not sure if anything stuck to them, but she wanted to recreate the experience she had and hope that her children had as good of a childhood as she did.

"Whenever I'm traveling, I'll mark all the constellations that my children are named after. They seemed to like it when I would show them my sketches."

Venus would mark all the constellations she could see when she was traveling, and on the rare occasion she would find the constellation Caleum or Phoenix, she would sketch it out and show it to them. Even though the Jordanus constellation was never actually adopted as an actual constellation, Venus would sketch it from time-to-time and show Jordan when he was younger, that way he wouldn't feel left out.

After going through her childhood with Comet teaching her everything she knew and even exploring it herself, she was too excited to see what her new brother Neptune would be interested in. Growing up with him she noticed that he too strives in the passion of space. Their dreams, together, were to be astronauts one day. The Tuttle kids exploring the wonders of stars and planets. Though growing up, it didn't happen. He went on to be an astronaut and she stayed behind with her paws on Earth to spread her knowledge of what she had practically spent her life studying. Though she doesn't know everything, she does like to privately try to learn more than she already knew. She had once thought that her family's passion would go on through her own children but she is very happy that they have their own dreams away from the family's and are doing their own thing.

Dolphin Voyage




Week 1 - On my way to the island! It's going to take a month to get there, but I enjoy sailing, and this is my first long voyage, so it should be fine.
Week 2 - Nothing interesting to report, besides a few seals I saw.
Week 3 - Getting closer! A pod of dolphins showed up early this week and seem to be following me. I've waved to them, and I think they have waved back.
Week 4 - Almost there! I can see some rock formations that the map said would be there at this point in the journey. The coolest thing happened with the dolphins today as well. Let me tell you about it...

The sun was rising, which w.as a perfectly acceptable time to get up for Venus normally if she hadn't been in the middle of a nap. She had stayed up most of the night to make sure the boat was on course, even if she had autopilot, taking half hour naps when she got the chance. When she had got into bed, she had collapsed instantly, and she didn't want to get up. But the alarm clock wouldn't stop ringing.

After serving a quick breakfast of cold pop tart and mandarin orange, she tiredly stumbled on deck to find that the dolphin pod had swum really close to her boat, which she called Universe. One in particular had bravely swum close enough for Venus to touch!

Venus had always wanted to touch a dolphin, and this opportunity was too good to pass up. She crouched down by the railing and reached down. The dolphin stayed still long enough for her to get close, then splashed her and swam away. Soaking wet, she grinned and stood up, grabbing a nearby towel to dry off.
