friend and how they met;

Her friend is very special, their name being Cairbre- a leprechaun. This leprechaun was very special! For he knew the true spirit of being a Leprechuan! That's what little miss Minty here was. little Minty Cream was made fun of by her fellow plumie's, not just for being PPS but for also being part leprechaun. They called her names and scared her away from school. She ran and ran, tears streaking down her cheeks when Cairbre appeared! He wasn't a plumie, but he darn well was a leprechaun!

"What seems to be the matter young miss?"
"All of these mean plumie's keep making fun of me for being who I am!" Litte Minty Cream said. "They always do, and it's constant, every day!" Her eyes filled with a fresh set of tears, her face turning a bright and uneasy red.
"Now, now! Don't you cry little one! I'll show them! No! You'll show them! Use your leprechaun powers and knock their good luck out the window! That outta teach them!"
"b-but how? I've never learned how to use my magic!"
"Easy! Just imagine their luck changing in your head, and shoot a little positive energy their way! That outta do it!"The Leprechaun demonstrated how it worked, placing his hands on his temples and rubbing them, as if he were a genie having a vision.
"W-well, I guess it's worth a shot! I'll come back and tell you how it goes!"
The Leprechaun nodded.

Little Minty Cream returned not long after she ahd left, and told her success story.

"I did it! Oncel they all got nearly struck by lightning they promised to leave me alone!! You're the greatest!" Minty said, a large grin on her face. From then on, her and the Leprechaun remained the greatest of friends.

meeting her best friend ;; The laundry mat at Farlie Road was always empty on Tuesdays. On Saturday, everyone seemed to be out, on Sunday people went out after religious practices and on Monday, people wanted to get their week's worth done. No matter where Caelin traveled, the laundry mats were emptiest on Tuesdays. She moved forward stealthy, she planned to return to the motel by 7:00 A.M. The door gave a jangling noise as she pushed through, using her back since the laundry basket was being held by both her hands. She set down her basket and began loading the washing machine farthest in the back. She put in three quarters for three loads. Then she slumped down in a chair across from her three washers. She slowly drifted to sleep, many insomniac nights had led her to be extremely tired.
She woke up almost an hour and a half later. The clock read 6:27 A.M. It took Caelin about three moments to realize that she would not make her 7:00 A.M. curfew considering her clothes needed time to dry. Her job at Walmart was temporary anyway. She heaved a sigh and pulled herself up. She quickly moved everything she had brought into the dryers and sat down. She passed time by staring at wall patterns, reading papers and posters hung up, and watching the mute television. By 7:21, Caelin was jumping up and down, waving her hands in a spastic way. She was already twenty minutes late and she happened to need the gas money. Cae rushed to the machines as soon as the timer ceased to count down. She threw all the laundry into her basket and rushed out the doors. As she pushed through the doors, clothes flew out of her basket and she had to stop several times before throwing things into the trunk of her teal colored bug. She slammed the hood and jumped into the drivers seat. She pulled out her purse and calmly searched for her keys, finding them she revved the engine twice before it started up.
She hit the gas, moving at a constantly accelerating speed. She had six blocks to drive to reach the town's Walmart. She inched up a slope, a line of traffic in front of her. Caelin turned up the radio and relaxed for a few moments before once again the line was in motion. She slowly began to turn left on a yellow light, but time wasn't on her side because as she turned a short ford slammed into the back of Cae's little bug.
Caelin cursed under her breath and then took a deep breath. The clock read 8:02, no point for her to continue to rush to work. A young man stepped out of the truck. He looked panicked and extremely worried. His hands were placed around his mouth. Caelin though him curious. She waved, not sure whether to be irritated or amused with the guy. He approached her. "Oh...my... I am so, so, sooo sorry. Holy..." he muttered in a barely audible tone. "I swear I'll pay for that. This is my fault I wasn't paying attention at all," he said rushing his words ever-so slightly. A little bit of a chuckle found its way through Cae. "No, no, it's all good- I was turning on a yellow I should've just stopped," she paused and stuck out her hand, "I'm-uh- Caelin." He eagerly shook her hand. His face was a temple of relief as he released her hand. "I'm Raelynn, but I prefer to go by Rae." She laughed and stated plainly, "If you only prefer to go by Rae, why introduce yourself as Raelynn?" She laughed at the oddness of it. "Oh- well, I'm not really sure. I hadn't given it a thought. Well um, are you uh- passing through or-" he asked, his tone strictly business. "I'll be in town for a couple more weeks. We can discuss this after my shift, lunch, maybe?" He nodded and then realization hit his face, "Oh my, did I make you late?" Cae laughed a bit at his concern. "Nah, I was already late." He nodded and they both exchanged numbers before climbing back into their vehicles, since, luckily, neither vehicle was totaled.
After Cae's shift the two met at a small diner just a mile down the road from Walmart. Caelin had been scolded for being late, but it was just strike one since she was a bit new around here. They made small talk and soon knew enough about each other to be considered friends, less of acquaintances. They talked every time Cae jumped towns and in the occasion they were both in the same part of town, they had a good meal. Raelynn had a girlfriend at the time and Cae had no intention of settling down, so there was very little sexual tension. She though of Rae as more of a big, or little (since he was younger but far more mature for his age), brother. They clicked but not in a romantic way and that was very special for Caelin, knowing that if she ever needed someone, Raelynn would hop on the next bus to wherever and be there. (875 words)
