• What is a Hindoge? •
Hindoges originated in Africa as an attempt to create a hybrid
hunting dog. This combination was a success, resulting in a cross
between a Dog and Hyena. This cross made the canines more cunning,
there ears bigger and jaws stronger. The dog cross added more of a
domesticated side to the Hindoges, This causing them to be more
obedient and take orders more easily, also making them easier to identify
Compared to wild hyenas. These dogs soon spread all over the world
As domesticated canines.
I was going to do line edits with this one, but I realized it would be a rare, and I really didn't feel like making a rare today. ouo;
This little one is based off of a Llewellin Setter. To win this one, please fill out the story section with how this Hindoge hunts even though it was born blind!
I will choose the winner in approximately a week.

Alma possesses a gentle and old soul. Even as a pup, she was wise beyond her years. She loved to learn new things and her comprehension of the world around her was always surprising others. She is by no means a genius; just open-minded.
The way Alma talks and perceives things often distracts others from the fact that she is blind. She never walks cautiously, never complains about it, she just accepted who she was and made the most of what she had. Her acceptance extends towards anyone she meets, and it takes a lot to for someone to make her feel otherwise.
She holds an optimistic outlook on the world and finds the good in the bad. Despite her blindness, Alma sees the beauty around her. Her naivety at times leads her to become sensitive and defensive towards harsher comments. Her way of coping is to separate herself from it all and use what she knows to find the brighter side. Alma could never hold a grudge against anyone and is so forgiving that she leaves herself open to betrayal and heartache.
Her name itself reflects her personality. In Latin Alma means 'nourishing' and in Spanish it means 'soul'. She loves her name dearly and refuses to shorten it to create a nickname. Alma takes great pride in how she presents herself and even though she has never seen her reflection, deep down she knows that she would love the Hindoge she would see.Story:
Despite accepting her blindness, it didn't make regular tasks any easier. Without sight she had to learn how to hunt using what she had. After all, she wasn't deaf and her nose worked just fine. Relying on her other senses made them stronger and she became attuned to them. It wasn't long until the little scurry she heard meant mouse or rabbit or the flutter of air meant bird. Alma could feel the wind in her fur and used it to guide her to avoid being detected. Learning this, all Alma had left to discover were the techniques used. A rabbit was never hunted the same way as a bird.
She met a friendly loner who, despite never mentoring anyone, found a way to mentor her. Together they learnt new things as Alma taught him how to see the good in the bad and he taught her how to hunt using what she had. They spent days together until slowly they drifted apart. It hurt Alma to lose such a friend but just having made one filled her with determination. Knowing that someone, out there, gave a damn about her - the little blind Hindoge - drove her to keep moving forward.
Now knowing how to hunt, Alma became more confident in herself. The once difficult task had become routine. Her only weakness was fighting. Alma new how prey behaved, they saw her - they ran. Other Hindoges and predators, different story. She knows that if presented with conflict, she wouldn't stand a chance and at times it makes her uneasy. So she works on her positive output, if she can't train to fight she might as well learn persuasion.
