What they want to be when they grow up: (Can be a drawing, or a story, what ever you like);
"My eyelids opened and flickered lazily, the room being a swirl of colors. "Look at you, our bundle of joy." My mother commented, stroking my chin. I jumped at her cold touch, being a strange sensation for a newborn Vaiki. "Hello, Skyledihon." I heard a deeper voice comment, being my father. I heard shrill laughter coming from another room. I eagerly wiggled my legs, that being the only thing I could do. "Wow... Look at that." My father said, pointing at my unique wings, shimmered with gold patterning. My emerald green irises glowed with happiness. This was my family, the family I'd been born to.
"Come on, Skylar. Eat your food." My mother said, trying to put a spoon full of soup into my mouth. I turned my head away, being a fussy eater. "Come on, Sky! We wanna go play, but we're stuck waiting on YOU!" My sister groaned, bending her head back. I looked at her with my big eyes, sighing. I ate the food sadly, knowing my siblings only saw me as an inconvenience.
Well, those are the only memories from my childhood that I truly remember. I'm nearly thirteen now, time really has gone quickly. My peers are surprised that I could remember the day I came into this Earth, September 13th, 2003. "You're only bluffing, you couldn't remember that." My sister said, not believing my stories. My sister leaves for college soon, it's unbelievable. I hear my mother call, "Sky! It's time to go!". Oh yeah, that's right. I had school on today, my first day of Middle school. I walked out of the door, my wings tucked neatly away.
I walked into the gates, hearing lots of strange noise. I heard happy laughter, I also heard sport games going on. My mother told me where to go, the office. I walked into the musty smelling office, quite cozy and warm. "Hello, little one." The receptionist said. "My name's Dorothy, who're you?" She said with a Southern accent. "U-Uh... I'm Skyledihon.. I just started here today..." I mumbled, not being much for socializing. "Oh, Sky! You're in Class 1A." She said, afterwards giving me directions. I decided I quite liked that lady, she seemed quite nice and she smelt of warm milk, my favorite. I entered the classroom, no-one was in there.
After what seemed to be forever, the ball rang. "Alright, guys." My teacher said. "Welcome! It's a pleasure to be teaching you! I'm Mrs Rink." Mrs Rink introduced herself, then taught the lesson. "Alright, just before the bell rings, we have someone VERY special here to talk to you." Mrs Rink said, indicating to a young man standing in the doorway. "Howdy, kids! I'm Michealious!" He started off, giving a cheesy grin. "Well, as some of you may know, I'm a professional skydiver!" He said. I was shocked, why would someone so special want to talk to US, of all people? I kept quiet during question times and didn't participate in much. "Oh, are you alright, fella?" Michealious asked me. I nodded slowly. "How about this, will it cheer you up?" He said, handing me a profession skydiving mask.
I still wear that mask, every single day. My mother begs me to take it off, so do teachers. Mother eventually gave in, but the teachers kept on persisting. I ended up lying about some religion, showing your face is against the rules of it. They eventually let me, so I just wear it whenever I please. Also, that day, I had decided that I would do everything I could to become a professional skydiver, just like Michealious. "

What they want to be when they grow up:Dear Diary,
How are you doing? Wait, you're a book. Nevermind. So some interesting stuff happened today. It went a little bit like this...
"What's this?"
A orange Vaiki with gold wings tied to her arms sat at a small wooden table, her mother standing over her.
"Just my latest creation." the younger one chirped, gripping the notebook in front of her with her paws.
"Show me."
Aderyn grabbed the edge of the pages and began flipping, revealing a small animation of a dog and its owner. They were playing
catch, throwing around a small round disc. As it ended, she looked up from her work.
"I'm not done yet," She said, picking her pencil up again.
"Tell me when you are," The mother reminded, promptly walking down the stairs. The child pushed down her goggles, ready to continue working when she had an idea. What if I could do more? Like the people who make the movies? She stood up, heading to the nearby computer to do some research.
"Animator, animator..." She mumbled as she typed it into the search box.
"Ah, here." She clicked on a link of interest, a grin slowly working its way onto her face.
"MOM! MOM!" She called, followed by loud pattering.
"Yeah?" Aderyn's mother asked. She narrowed her eyes.
"An animator? You want to be an animator?" She exclaimed. The small Vaiki vigorously nodded her head.
"You're gonna have to learn to draw on the computer," She told her.
"I know. I can." Aderyn piped.
"Okay, Addy." The mother rubbed her daughter's head before resuming whatever she was doing. Aderyn took the mouse in her paws, opened an online drawing program, and took a deep breath. Using her animation as a reference, she tried to recreate her picture. It came out lumpy and pixeled and didn't even look like a dog. She huffed in frustration and tried again. And again. And again, and again and again.
So, now I'm twelve and got my first drawing tablet. Digital art will be so much easier for me now, and maybe I'll even be able to start animating stuff. I still have to learn how to do that, though. I will. Don't worry diary, one day I will become an animator. I WILL.
