kas laughed as he bounded through the hills of snow, the white, powdery crystals flying everywhere as he did so. his breaths come out in silvery puffs of air, seen when he turned his head to look at his mother, still grinning. even though weather like this was common in russia, it still held amusement for hours for kas. the cold and what came with it was regularity with him, and therefore quite endearing to him despite his fiery spirit and personality.

kas is all in all a pretty laid back guy, even for a kid. at times, he
does tend to be a little sassier than intended and may unintentionally
offend someone with a tactless comment or five, but this is because
his book smarts are more sharpened than his empathy levels. not to
be mistaken for uncaring, however - kasmir is a loving plume at heart
and is boggled by many emotions that he has. he easily falls in love
and will sometimes have a handful of crushes, but most of them are
never acted on despite his outgoing and fiery personality. love is the
main thing that perplexes kas, but it doesn't keep him from strongly
feeling it. he has an affinity for chemistry and will often make
terrible periodic table puns. instead of counting sheep to aid his sleep,
kas mutters the elements until he drifts off. he also loves superheroes
especially comics, and has stashes of them scattered all over his
room. he's attempted to create his own ones, but to no avail.

kasmir's relationship with moscow is a loving, yet delicate one. he enjoys spending time with her,
but because of her distant personality, he always takes care to tread carefully. his favorite thing
to do with her is to ice skate. his first time on the ice was wonderful because moscow was there
to teach him and catch him when he fell. she was so graceful and seemingly at home on the ice
that it inspired him to try his very best - which turned into a passion for him. because of her, he
regularly competes in figure and speed skating. he loves making hot cocoa and sitting by the
fireplace, sometimes wordless, but those hours hold a place in his heart. kas tries his best to make
sure to keep her impression of him as a good child stays strong by doing as well as he can in school,
so is always uptight and formal around her for the most part.

kas's relationship with kenny is a little more laid back than his one with moscow.
he likes to hang around him when he's feeling stressed - kenny is a great decompressor,
filled with crazy, adventurous stories which kas adores. in fact, the handful of comics
he had made were based from kenny's stories. he also likes to take him along to his
skating and hockey practice because he's that one parent that cheers loudly like
nobody else is there.. and plus, they always go out for a treat afterwards. it
might embarrass other kids if their parents supported them like that, but it's endearing
to kas because it shows how much he's cared for. kenny plays kas's video games
with him and, much to kas's chagrin, bests him in many of his favorite games. it only
makes him more competitive, but in a playful way. since kas doesn't make many friends,
kenny is very much like a best friend to him, and he couldn't wish for more in the
world than the two best parents he could ever have to care for him.

Moscow is the kind of Plumerian that would much
prefer a peaceful nature walk to a daring climb. She
doesn't completely approve when Kenny does daredevil
activities, but she supports him anyway. That's because
Moscow is very kind, accepting and always quick to
praise others, especially Kenny. Social skills aren't her
strongest point, and she's quite shy. Nature deeply
interests her, and whenever she is out in it she becomes
lost in her own thoughts. Moscow takes frequent walks
when the weather permits her to, and loves to see new
sights as long as the adventure there is not too risky.
Most of Moscow's varied interests align with her
personality. She enjoys ice skating (which she is very
good at), reading, animals, nature, peace,
relaxation and being with Kenny.

Kenny is the highlight of Moscow's life, and loves to
spend time with him. Although their love is strong,
Moscow disapproves of most risks Kenny takes. She
describes them as 'stubborn' and 'careless'. They argue
occasionally, but make up for it by going ice skating
afterwards, as it is their favourite activity to do
together.

Like other mothers, Moscow cherishes Kat and wants
the best for him in life. She takes him out to ice
skate on frozen lakes often, and he enjoys it.
Moscow joins the occasional easy hike that Kenny
and Kat go on. She won't join if the climb is too
demanding or dangerous.

meeting kenny;
The group of nature walkers accompanying me on
this nature walk in Iceland have just noticed a flock of
birds flying in between the clouds in the sky on this cloudy
Autumn day. I'm walking alone, as I like the peace and
quiet. The majority of the group is together and rapidly
talking about the many sights we can all see up at the
front near the tour guide. It's nicer alone, but I'd like to
see what they've seen in case I've missed anything. I'm
still walking alone and trying to pick up enough courage
to join the group when a brown and green Plumerian
approaches me. I've seen him before on this trip. He's
normally quite energetic if I remember correctly, but not
today - he's not running up to me like a stereotypical
energetic one would.
“H-hi, there! My name is Kenny, what’s your name?” he
asks me. I'm not sure how to respond, as I'll admit that
I'm very shy and definitely not the best at having a
conversation. I don't know what will happen if I don't
respond straight away, but I decide to take the risk by
thinking of a good response. I've always been told to
think before I speak.
“My name is Moscow, nice to meet you Kenny." I
eventually reply with curiosity in my eyes. Not the most
creative response, but it'll do.
“That’s a very nice name, Moscow. Might I ask why you
are here on this hike?” he instantly replies. He's gotten
his energy back. I wonder why he wasn't like this when
he first approached me.
Again, I spend a bit of time pondering a good response.
I come up with one that will suffice. “I’m here visiting
my birthplace, since I haven’t been since I moved to
Greenland. What about you, Mister Kenny?” I feel the
need to address him by Mister Kenny. I've always been a
polite and respectful one, if I can say that about myself.
“I am here to explore a country other than my own.
Wait, you live in Greenland too?” Kenny is obviously
becoming very excited now. I wonder why. His eyes have
widened, which I think is a sign of excitement. I'll have to
wait and see.
I give Kenny a simple nod, and we start to exchange
friendly conversation. As we follow the nature walk, I point
out things that he may find interesting. I don't know him
well enough to be sure, though.

A few days later...
It's time for me to leave beautiful Iceland and return
home to Greenland. Kenny and I have planned to keep in
contact, which is something I seldom do.
We've exchanged addresses, and hope to talk often.

The next Valentine's Day...
Kenny and I have been sending each other letters since
we've returned home from Iceland, which was a while
ago now. It's Valentine's Day today. I walk outside and
check my letterbox, and find a familiar sight. It's a letter
from Kenny. I walk back inside and sit at my dining table
to open it. I stare in awe after reading the contents of
the letter. This is no ordinary letter from him. This is a
letter of him confessing his love for me! Kenny, the
energetic Plumerian I met on my travels in Iceland is in
love with me.
And then I realise something.
I love him too.
I get my pen and paper out and write a letter back to
him, confessing my feelings.
July 10
I have been dating Kenny for almost 5 months now. We
have arranged to meet in the park today to celebrate my
birthday. He said that he has a special present for me,
but I have no guesses on what it may be. When I arrive
at the park, I see Kenny in front of the entrance. I walk
up and say hello, and we exchange conversation like we
usually do for a while.
Until something completely unexpected happens.
Kenny opens his hand that has been closed for the entire
time to reveal a small box. He opens the box. Inside is
a beautiful ring. It's then I realise that he's proposing to
me. He wants me to be his wife! I'm definitely not sure
what to feel, but I think that this is how it's meant to end.
Although we have our differences, Kenny and I are almost
perfect for each other.
I accept his proposal, and we vow to stay together forever.

If you could ask Kenny what his favorite thing in the world was,
his first response would be Moscow. When asked what his second
favorite thing in the world was, he would probably say caves.
If you were not careful, he would go into a whole speech on
why both those things are amazing, and one can’t help but
sense the passion he has for both those things – his wife and
caves. He pours lots of emotion into his words and could motivate
a whole crowd of people if he wanted to.

Kenny is very alert, paying attention to everything that he can
so that he can spring into action at any moment. He is very
determined to do what he is going to do, even if it isn’t the
smartest thing. Often, his actions come without thinking first,
and so Kenny gets into trouble a lot. He can often take care
of himself, though sometimes the trouble catches him and he
can’t get out. He can be very stubborn and takes huge risks
much to Moscow’s chagrin. He also will procrastinate a lot, which is hard
when it comes to getting things done on a time limit.

Moscow
Kenny loves Moscow a lot, and wants to spend
as much time as he can with her. Of course,
their relationship isn’t a fairy tale romance.
Though Kenny spends a lot of his time with
her, his risk taking when going through caves
has lead to her disapproval, and though she
will support him, they do argue about how
dangerous it is. They make up afterwards,
and go out ice skating together, one of their
favorite things to do together. Of course,
parenting their son is hard, but Kenny and
Moscow will do the best they can for him.

Bear
Kenny and his son, who he affectionately
calls Bear, go on hikes together, often with
Moscow if it isn’t too much of a daredevil
climb. He likes to show his son the wonders
of nature where they live, like a pretty
snowflake, or a little hare. Kenny would
like Bear to have freedom and independence,
but he does have expectations for Bear, and
chores for him to do, so it can get a little
frustrating when Bear doesn’t do them.
He does his best to make sure his little
son has a good life.

Paleo
Paleo and Kenny are best friends, and have
been for a long time. Back when Kenny lived
in Scotland, they were kids together, going
on hiking trips and hanging out doing as
much as they could, preferable not inside
because of Paleo’s claustrophobia. But when
Kenny was sixteen, his parents moved away
from Scotland to Greenland, so communication
between the two was nearly nonexistent.
For the next couple of decades before social media
was invented, Kenny had no idea what had happened
to his friend. It wasn’t until he found Paleo
on social media that the two got back in contact.
Time can change things, and their relationship
isn’t as strong as it was a long time ago. While
the pair often travel and visit each other, Paleo
has made some choice regarding his family that
Kenny doesn’t approve of. Paleo never really sees
his wife and kids anymore, or even his grandkids.
Kenny would rather stay in contact with family.
They also have arguments on risks. While Paleo
likes a good challenging climb, Kenny takes too
many risks that could involve serious injury and
Paleo doesn’t want to join him. Paleo also doesn’t
like caves like Kenny does, as they are too closed in and make him panic.

Some moments in life let you breathe easier. Some take your breath away, and it’s hard to catch it again. That’s how Kenny felt when he first saw Moscow. They were on a nature hike in Iceland, he because he wanted to explore a neighboring country he’d never been to before, and she had just joined the group. She was the prettiest thing he had ever seen and he started over to flirt with her.

Of course, his brain kicked in and he stopped. Kenny, what if you make a bad impression? Do you even know if she likes being flirted with? Do you even know her name? Kenny realized all this in an instant, and got into a mental argument with himself. The end result was that his logic won, and so as the group started the hike, he ended up moving towards Moscow.

“H-hi, there! My name is Kenny, what’s your name?” Wow, what a way to start a conversation, Kenny thought, inwardly cringing. She did not respond immediately as they walked along the trail, though she looked at him and observed him.

“My, name is Moscow, nice to meet you Kenny,” Moscow said, looking at him curiously.

“That’s a very nice name, Moscow. Might I ask why you are here on this hike?” Kenny wanted to know more about this lovely lady, and what better way to do that than ask questions?

“I’m here visiting my birthplace, since I haven’t been since I moved to Greenland. What about you, Mister Kenny?”

“I am here to explore a country other than my own. Wait, you live in Greenland too?” Kenny’s eyes got wide. Perhaps he had even more of a shot than he had expected!

She nodded at him, and pointed out some things he might find interesting. This soon developed into pleasant conversation, and a wonderful friendship.

When they got back from Iceland, they exchanged addresses and sent each other letters constantly, hanging out whenever they could. It wasn’t until the next Valentine’s day when he finally confessed his love for her, and to his surprise it turned out she loved him too. They dated until Moscow’s birthday when he proposed. They were at the park, and after spending time just hanging out, he proposed to her, giving her a beautiful ring and his promise to stay together forever.
