Show Name: Fatal Beauty
Barn Name: Morta (A name associated with one of the Fates from Greek mythology)
Gender: mare
Height: 17Hh
Story:

I met Fatal Beauty while I was out for a walk one day. I had left the house to get some fresh air and to my surprise, I saw a lovely Swampwalker grazing near my pond. I got as close as I dared and just watched her. She was so lovely. She seemed unusually calm, considering how skittish they are reputed to be. It seemed I wasn't the only one to be attracted to her beauty and grace. A humming bird was flitting around near her head. I was admiring the green of the bird's wings against the red of her head, both perfectly accented by the sunset, when suddenly her head snapped up and she went after the bird, teeth bared. The hummingbird flew away in a daze and I just stood there watching as the mare slowly lowered her head to the water again. As much as I admired her beauty and graze, I realized that I would have to be careful how I trod around this mare. Lovely as she was her teeth could probably take off my fingers if I wasn't careful. After that I would look for her every day after my chores up at the stable were done. I would have loved to touch her, and to groom the dirt away from her coat, but at the same time I wasn't sure if I was willing to risk trying to get close to her. My Swampwalker companion, Amadahy, was a lovely girl now that I had gotten to know her. But even she was sometimes a bit temperamental and I was reminded that she was far more feral than a horse. For weeks I watched her as she came onto my land and made use of my pond. I still liked to come down and watch her, but I was always careful to keep a safe distance between us. One day I was sitting down on a tree stump, watching her as I had many time before, when she lifted her head and stared right at me. I squirmed a bit, feeling uncomfortable under her penetrating stare. With slow deliberate steps she walked over toward me. I held my breath, trying to decide weather to stay still, make a lot of noise, or run. Then, before I had made a decision, she reached out and bumped my hand with her nose. I stayed absolutely still. She snorted once, then walked away. I let out the breath I had been holding and watched as she disappeared into the woods. That was the first time I got close to her, or rather her to me. After that she began to become more curious about me and my stable. However if I ever made a move to come to her she would immediately leave and disappear into the woods. I believe her presence made Amadahy a bit jealous, if not suspicious. Over time she began to come to my barn regularly , sometimes sampling the treats Amadahy enjoyed. It was in this way that we formed a friendship, and gradually I began to realize that despite her nippiness she wouldn't really hurt me, she just liked to be in charge. She was certainly a bossy one. Now she has settled right into the stable and, like my other two swampwalkers, is free to come and go as she pleases.
