Faer[wald] Ari Danvers • Male

Faer Ari Danvers' name suits him quite suitably with the fact that he is a traveller, flaunting his interests and personality just through that.
Faer is an English name, meaning "traveller". I thought this suited him quite well because - he is a traveller, and also it just seemed to 'click' for him from my perspective. There is a longer variation; Faerwald, which means "powerful traveller", so his name could be the nickname for the lengthier one, which I think suits him just as well.
Ari, on the other hand, is an Armenian name meaning "brave". I really liked this name and how it slotted with Faer, hence I decided that this would be his middle name. It could also show his courage and how he is willing to stand up to others should they try to hurt someone.
Danvers is just an unusual surname I found, and though I don't know the meaning or origin, I still feel that this completes his name as a whole and has a sort of rhyme to it. So there you have it.

Business Owned By Family

Faer's family run a flower and tea trade business named the 'Danvers' Tea & Flower Plaza' - but not just any florists or flower shop; they have anything from pots to bouquets of rare black lilies to flowering tea to exquisite kettles. The business' speciality is flowering tea, and many of their shops are positioned in different towns, only being available for the highest of prices due to the flower's rarities, however they do also have a variety of different types of teas - over a hundred! - that are unlimited to frequent customers, and the family themselves. As many other countries don't have some of the intricate tea types that this family has, their demand is quite high, placing their wealth higher than other average tea and flower shops.
Faer himself is rather interested in the flowery business, however he specialises in creating new ideas for the business; his newest being a rose-scented perfume - roses being his favourite flower - which has already been accepted into open arms by the entire business and customers, that frequent even more often after his invention.
Another corner of the business is their rare flowers. Many customers come to take a look at the new shipment of Lily Deathbeds and Croenus' Fortunes - both of which are extremely rare flowers which, if not tended to correctly, can be quite harmful. Danger - as Faer's father proclaims - is the key to attracting customers.

Personality, Tendencies and More

Faer is a rather flirtacious, hopeless romantic type of Jaupie, constantly attempting to woo others; be it girls or guys or other gender identifiers. Basically he is pansexual. He can also be a little narcisstic, but only because he has a light obsession with his eyes, which he feels relates a lot to the gem he draws his power from.
Furthermore, he is a sassy little thing, constantly making a joke or some sort of sassy reply to counter one's comment, usuay accompanied with a wink when he's in his playful mood.
Contrary to this, in serious situations he can apply his skills and knowledge from travelling the world to help others; if you forget his occasional vanity and other flaws, he is one of the kindest and generous souls one could meet, always trying to help and offering gifts for others. His bravery and precission has also helped in many events; for example, when he was out travelling once, he happened upon a small Jaupie who was being cornered by a rabid dog. Sheathing his secret knife, he attacked the dog just as it was about to leap at the defenceless creature, and saved the young Jaupie.
A tendency of his is to write poems and leave them unfinished, or come up with silly romantic puns that he keeps in his little journal, that has grown heavy and tired from all the memories placed into them from his adventures.

History, Background

As a young Jauplin, Faer was always fascinated with the prospect of travelling, and would often find maps or draw his own when the flower/tea business was just starting, resulting in him sitting in the then-kitchen with tea and flowers covering the table he would lay his maps out on. His room was covered in them; maps of all shapes and sizes, some updated, some old, showcasing all of the places Faer wished he could visit. Even back then his family was wealthy; working in a trade of making leather items and apparel, hence him having the leather strap to which he attaches his gem to - so he had never needed to worry about getting the equipment for his wishful travels anyway.
As Faer grew, his desire to travel increased tenfold, and he decided to purchase his own ship with a small reserve of his family's fortune, promising to return as soon as he felt ready to take over the family business and had ticked off some of the things he listed on his 'bucket list', so to speak; for example:
×buy a leatherbound book into which all of his memories and souvenirs would go
×sail to lesser-known cities & help at least four Jauplins
×try a Wordenburg Mud Pie & drink some Olivierr Tea
×control his power more and with more precission
This wasn't the end of his list, but they were the main topics he felt needed immediate attention, so with his last goodbyes to his proud family and kisses to his little brothers and sisters, he set off in search of an adventure and experience.

Special Abilities and More

¬He has the ability to control wind using the Scapolite gem; a brilliant yellow stone that provides his power source and always gives him an immense feeling of tranquility whenever he touches it. Though he can control wind, his skill is a little weak, and he cannot control sandstorms or gusts of wind for prolonged periods of time, though he is working on slowly increasing his skill while at sea.
¬Has heightened hearing and can hear something from over 2km away, as well as at a higher Hz than usual Jaupies do - he can hear at around 60kHz, whereas others usually hear at 20kHz, which puts him in a high position of accuracy.
¬Though this may not be a special ability, he is extremely flexible and is double-jointed in many places, making it easy to squeeze through tight spaces.

Other Quirks & Stuff

¬Has an allergy to lilies. Which is horrible, seeing as they're his mother's favourite flowers, and she constantly adorns the hallways with lillies, which aggravate his skin and nose and make his eyes water non-stop. Talk about decking the halls with bowls of lily!
¬Likes writing poems - and not finishing them. Will occasionally discover a poem and finish it, but this is rather rare.
¬Faer can often have a different outlook on things, resulting in usually trying to figure out how to make things run more effectively; motor engines of boats, as an example. Surprisingly, he is quite hard-working, and not a stuck-up rich kid as others think he is.
¬When nervous (which isn't often), he is prone to saying a certain word over and over - which is Scapolite. It acts a little like his 'anchor' to reality and to safety.
¬He has an irrational fear of snakes and slugs - so if you eve want to hear him scream, push a snake or a slug in his face and he'll drop the whole 'heart-throb' façade!
¬Can be quite short-tempered, particularly when something doesn't work: this is usually applicable to his limited power of controlling wind - there was once a time at sea when he and his small crew got caught in a storm, and try as he might to control the wind and stop it from being so rough, he just couldn't do it, resulting in him losing his temper and refusing to come out for days, only to be enticed out with the scent of fresh Kipper.
¬Favourite flower: osiria rose, because of it's beauty on both sides, and he likes the symbolism of something pure and something possibly tainted.
¬Favourite food: salad and kipper; he likes the clean taste of salad and the overpowering taste of the fish.
¬Finally, he's got a talent for sculpting and carving - he finds it relaxing, and it helps him to get into the flow of energy more often before he wants to perform his talent ay controlling the wind. Many of his sculptures and carvings have been given to his family members and friends, but also a lucky few strangers he happened to have go into his good books.

The Charmer's family owns a company skilled in the craft of weapons dealing. From cannons and rifles to oranate knives and handguns, his family makes and sells it all. He's not the most eager to be part of this however, as the business is often the target of robberies and generally bad situations.

What kind of business does their family own?
Well his family at first glance owns a very reliable and popular business. Shipping in goods at low prices that are in constant demand and sell them off at cheaper prices to most competition while making a good profit. They mostly deal in parchments, gems, jewelry, exotic clothes, wool dyed and un-dyed, preserved legal animal parts such as horns, antlers etc... and spices not from their home country. However the company also has a shady part to it the public eye does not see. This part ships in goods of dangerous origin and many items being banned from his country. Such items do not include live animals, but dead well preserved ones are included. Some items are venom deadly to the touch, illegal id papers, illegal spices that are harmful to the body and many other things. But if paid well they might even bring in a healthy slave but this is not common as it is very expensive for shipping in a live person.
However the business has also been rumored to be one of the biggest suppliers of Jaupie gems in the black market and that the business kidnaps young children who are vulnerable, take their gems, knock them out and then put them somewhere random in the kingdom.
But despite all this and their ability to keep all this secret to a degree and away from the detection of law, they are still a prosperous trading business in legal and illegal goods.
Though this guy just loves his family's business. He isn't called 'The Charmer' purely because of his almost irresistible looks and charms, but because he 'charms' unsuspecting victims into revealing their worst secrets which he may later anonymously exploit. After all, the business at times needs a scapegoat so they aren't suspected.

What kind of business does their family own?:
They're textile traders, at least that's what they say. Hey, with such big family owned ships moving all those materials back and forth, is it that surprising that a few crates of weapons, or perhaps a few barrels of rum, show up every so often?
The family's main reason for smuggling such items is simple. There's less paper work in telling someone you're just trading textiles, so long as that someone doesn't decide to have a closer look.

Idea sellers. Someone asks them for help on a creative idea, they brainstorm and think of something exrtaordinary, then they tell that someone, whom pays them back in return. Each idea consists of both parents of him to agree on it, so it's not influenced by arguements or selfish wants. If the person does not like the idea, they do not need to pay, though they will not be allowed to use the idea. His parents have already copyrighted it probably, and without them agrees handing over their idea, they won't leave that someone alone until they stop claiming it's theirs.
