Valentine's, Halloween, what's the difference? Ha. That's right. On Valentine's day, Checkory goes out scaring and pranking the living daylights out of everyone, secretly protesting her own singleness. Valentine's, she claims, is a terrible holiday, celebrating those who are lucky enough to be in a relationship. Checkory likes to distance herself from this practice and instead gets her revenge. Prowling around street corners with buckets of dirty water and a blood cupid mask, Checkory has found herself finding a new way to cope with her loneliness. Checkory has always been stubborn, refusing to believe all those who tell her of the gooeyness of the holiday, known for being pink and drop-dead pink, but on this particular Valentine, she's plotting something extra special. Something, you could say, is - heart-throbbingly worrying. And she's not telling.

with such a cliche name, she's never had too much luck. many would tease her with the idea of having someone special, as if she were a kiss-and-tell story.
still, though, she wants to have a special someone. her name fits the sugar in confectioneries, her pelt mimicking the dark brown of chocolates others adore, and she wants to be loved as much as such trifles.

what does this plumie think about valentine's day?: he doesn't think very fond of valentine's day, as he thinks it's very unfair for plumie's in a relationship get they're own holiday. He finds it very unfair, but he does like to buy a bunch of valentine's chocolates and eat them all himself, with his big sweet tooth. He doesn't like the decorations they put up everywhere he goes on valentine's day. The pink hurts his eyes, and he was not fond of pink anyway's, or warm colors in general. "What?" He says a little too quickly, "Valentines day? Ha! Right me, on valentines day. That's a joke all in itself, I'm a cluts, and in no way a smooth talker. If you haven't noticed you're my only friend,I won't be anything good on valentines day." But he never answered their question, he veered around it. It was so obvious that Val wanted to be apart of valentines day with someone who actually liked him as more than a friend, he was just too cruel to himself to admit even that.

They shook their head, walked away, and came back, "Why do you deny yourself things you want?!"

There was a pause, creating a monster of thick air, "That was more than one question, I won't answer more." Val turned and walked away with drag in his steps.

what does this plumie think about valentine's day?: She thinks that it is a total joke. She believes that if you truly love someone, you'll love them all year round, not just on one day. She also hates that most single girls spend their time sobbing and eating ice cream on valentines day, caused because of the fact that someone just had to go and make a day dedicated to love. As an aromantic boy, Ven has a rather unconventional viewpoint on Valentine's day. During his early childhood, he saw it as a celebration of familial or platonic love rather than romance, and the romantic component actually flew straight over his head. Even now, after a huge archetypal "loss of innocence" moment, his perspective has remained heavily affected by his orientation; while he enjoys the idea of exchanging "love letters" (he usually sends platonic letters of adoration), he has never been enticed by the romantic side of it. To have romance shoved in his face all during February can make him very uncomfortable, even to the point of self-hatred due to his romantic orientation, and he avoids shopping for the first fifteen days of February for this reason. He often feels broken around this time, seeking comfort from (ironically) his lovebirds.

Valentines day? That lovey-dovey, kissey-wissey day where hearts are opened and couples are up against the corners, love pooling over there red lips? That day in which flowers are thrown across the sidewalks, their petals littering roads as chocolates fill the mouths of romantic couples with their savory bitterness. One might call this day one of ooey-gooey goodness that describes the melting hearts of lonely lovers as they watch a happy pair strut down the walkway. Heart cards fly around the town, music is written for two. You see the blushing cheeks of a pair who just had their first kiss. Wonderful day, isn't it?
I hate it.
Irony could not be more cruel. Wouldn't such a dark creature seek affection? Bah! Go away. I must bleach my eyes from the near couple making out at my door. Dreadful.

Absinthe absolutely adores valentine's day. One may ask why, as it's not like Absinthe has a special somebody for it, but it just so happens that the week before valentine's day her candy shop's business is at its peak. However, she doesn't love it because of the money, but the fact that so many couples come to her shop looking for her special chocolate hearts to give to their special someones. Absinthe loves knowing that her confectioneries may have brought a couple closer together.
