Gay pairs cannot breed to produce a kit, unless there are special mutations allowing it (like my Night&Day are both male and female in one and can breed with either). Just two regular males cannot reproduce.
You're free to have any pairings in your stories, but in nursery, it takes M+F to produce a kit.
