What are Novibats?

Novibats are a unique species of bats that can take up residence anywhere their heart desires...

Novibats are bequeathed with special "star-stones" that operate as magical transforming agents. Once they come of age, their star stone changes color (the little diamond in the center) and they undergo a permanent metamorphosis which results in their designation to a specific biome. Once metamorphosed, it is incredibly difficult to leave and often results in death because the Novibat is not suited to other climates. Novibats can then remove their star stones, as it loses most magical properties it held and becomes a memento for the Novibat. However, they usually keep them around their necks as it is something they keep with them all their lives as physical memories of their homeland and the Star-Stones serve as a form of name tag.

Novibats are approximately the size of medium-sized dogs, so anything smaller than that is fair game (including bugs!).

Because of this, it is of no surprise that her companion is Surff, the Snorunt. She found in her travels one day the that little cutie following her. She absolutely adores him, and she thinks he likes her, though, since he does follow her everywhere.

Akiria's companion is a small, melanistic serval. The feline enjoys his presence, and likes to race him sometimes. The serval has long legs and large ears, and being melanistic, a dark coat with barely visible markings. The feline hails from the african savannah, and loves to curl up with his bat when cold.

describe their companion in 500 words or less: Eir considers her best friend to be a small cricket she's dubbed "Meili." He, little to Eir's knowledge, does no more than acknowledge her existance, so the friendship couldn't exactly be called mutual. Despite this, she loyally follows Meili around, occasionally speaking to him, though he never responds. No matter what anyone says, though, Eir will always think this little bug cares just as much about her and refuses to believe for a moment that he doesn't.
