"In the beginning, I knew only water. The soft pull of the tide, the swirling depth
below my feet, and the unmistakable sound of crashing waves on a desolate beach.
It was there on that sand that I was born and raised, where I lived out my childhood
fantasies and struggled into my teen years. I believe that, without a doubt, this is
what drove my passions later in life. I was inspired, no driven by the beauty of the
ocean. By the glint of sunshine on the edges of shattered shells. By the rotting scent
of dead sea life drudged up from the deep blue. By the screaming gulls over head,
bickering over who would eat and who would die. I pride myself in my realism, in
my ability to bring out the beauty from such a scary place. Because truly the beaches
here would rather swallow you whole than open their hearts to you. But I saw it
anyways, hidden beneath grit and sand. And with that beauty I made what could
only be known as useless trinkets. For as the sea brings in its tide seashells and
pearls, I made the same from the sand in which they lie. A bountiful shop of colors
and shapes, glass-made trinkets are my only drive now. I have made hundreds,
probably thousands of these items. And yet, despite their popularity with tourists,
I find no use for them. A useless passion. Yes, that is my life now. Simply forever
searching for a greater muse, another passion, a more expandable talent.
Something...worthwhile."

Hobby - Dorian is a bit of a musician. He spends his free time playing and tuning instruments. He also really likes to make and fix them. He wants to learn everything there is to know about music; instruments; and how music influences, inspires, and is affected by those who hear or play it. The only thing he doesn't do is sing. He likes all music, it doesn't matter what genre or instrument, but he especially likes the more obscure or unconventional stuff. Guitars and piano are great, but give him a didgeridoo, ram's horn trumpet, or sea shell flute and you've made his day. Dorian still carries the first instrument he made with him at all times; and he keeps it in good enough repair that it still works perfectly. Dorian also loves to use instruments (unconventional or traditional) in a genre that they aren't usually used in or he uses instruments that aren't usually paired together in the same piece of music. He is always trying out different combos in an attempt to get interesting sounds. It is his ultimate dream that one day his style will be developed enough that it would be considered a new genre. And it would be a big bonus if that genre included the use of new types of instruments that he designed.
