Personality;;
    much like her mother and father, she inherited the trait of being
    strong-willed. once her mind is made up, you can't stop her from
    persuing it. unlike her parents though, she is very outgoing, and love
    to hang around new people. she is quite the party animal, loving to
    socialize and make new friends, but also enjoys her alone time,
    valueing the moments where she can just sit down and watch some
    netflix. if your ever feeling down, she's the one you want to go to,
    as she'll talk to you for hours on end, and will surely come up with
    a solution to your problems. some of her negative traits include that
    she's nosy, and also insecure. these might be why she wants everyone
    to like her, just so she can feel comfortable in her own fur.

Story;;
    Poet hatched on a cold, windy night on November 17. She was alone, as far as she could tell, but surrounded by a warm nest, and sheltered from the howling wind by a large, hollowed, fallen tree.
    As the weeks went by, Poet grew stronger, but never left the shetler. Inside, it was spacious [to a young visling]. Every morning, she awoke to a fresh caught meal, but little Poet was unaware of who had brought it, or why they did. However, she ate gratefully, and never complained.
    Up to this point, she didn't have a name. Besides, to her, it didn't matter. But as she walked outside for the first time as a teen, she saw the letters 'P-O-E-T' scratched into the soil. The ground smelled familiar, but she couldn't place the scent. She liked how the word sounded, and as a celebration for exploration, she was then known as Poet.
    She started exploring more often, and the meals arrived less and less. Poet had started notcing other creatures, not just the regular fresh-killed squirrel. Rabbits, birds, snakes, and deer all wandered the woods with her, and one day the challenge overcame her. A white-tailed rabbit crossed her path, and she slammed her paws onto its back. Her first kill! She dove in hungrily, and it was delicious!
    After this moment, the meals stopped entirely. But one last thing was left by this mysterious being.
    On a boulder, sat a leather-backed book and a single pencil. Curious, Poet crept over, and opened the first page carefully. It read;;
    "Left behind, alone,
    Crying out for somebody,
    I came to save you.

    I hunted for you,
    Even named you, little one,
    And I watched always.

    Venturing outside,
    Happy, healthy, shining bright,
    Instict took over.

    Now I must move on,
    But don't worry, I'll return,
    Be safe, little one...'

    At the top of the page, there were the numbers 5 - 7 - 5.
    Sniffing around, the air smelled familiar. The pieces fell togther, and soon she understood. All this time, it had been 'them'. And 'they' were a viscet, feeding her, protecting her, naming her. She grabbed the items carefully, and headed back into her nest. She opened up to the second page, and wrote a poem of her own;;
    "My name is Poet,
    I am proud and have survived,
    Here is my story."
Favorites;;
    - trait; her pattern on her flank
    - skill; she's able to easily imagine haikus
    - personality trait; she loves helping people out

Relationships;;
    - Deke;;
      "Deke is probably my closest friend, not to mention a he's sweetheart. He loves hanging out with me, and he's the only person who can handle my bossiness. He also came up with my nickname, Etch, which is now his permanent name for me."
    - Duft;;
      "Duft is a bit... weird. He got these bright red hooves, but he's pretty nice. Whenever I need something, I can always count on him to help me out. He lives in town, which is a bit weird, but he's shown me all sorts of cool stuff, like ice cream c;"
    - Rajah;;
      "Rajah is so much fun. He always keeps me laughing, even though his jokes may be ironic. We do fight sometimes, [he's more short-tempered than me!] but in the end, it always ends up straightening out. I mean, how can you stay mad at one of your friends?"
    - Fannara;;
      "I met Fannara while exploring one day. Apparently, she loves exploring, and she lives in the mountains. I mean, how cool is that?? Anyways, we're good friends, she let's me tag along sometimes."
    - Asiza;;
      "Asiza is such a sweetie! We talk so much, and even though she says she's and introvert, I have some of my best conversations with her. We confide in eachother, and I really trust her."
    - Abel;;
      "Abellio is one of my best friends. We first met in the woods, made small talk, then he invited me over for some tea, and to talk some more. It was amazing! He's so kind to everyone, and so welcoming."
    - Pie;;
      "Pie is so sweet, ahh. She's a shy little viscet, and her tail doesn't have any fluff! She told me once that she had lost them while in a ferocious battle, how brave! I love hearing her stories, and I especially love taking walks in the woods with her."
    - Belle
      "Meeting Belle was one of the scariest experiences of my life! She jumped out from some bushes, and just about attacked me, but luckily she didn't get too rough. She claimed to be some sort of 'Caravan Guard', which sounds pretty awesome. We talk often now, and love sharing our stories with eachother."
Poetry;;
    Poet, as her name suggests, has a remarkable
    talent for creating amazing poems. Her first one
    was a bit rusty, but now she's perfected the art
    of limericks, acrostics, cinquains, and epecially
    haikus. here's some of her favorites;;

      There was a viscet with a book,
      Who wanted the world to look,
      At all of her work,
      Her nice little quirk,
      And would take as long as it took!

      Poems are beautiful,
      Only the storm could ruin that.
      Each and every one is unique,
      They are all perfect.

      Deke is
      Right beside me
      He wanted to write in
      My book. The answer;; NO, but I'LL
      Write one

      The wind is blowing,
      Leaves are all across my path,
      Fall days are the best.
Image
Companion;;
    Kotoba "Toby";;
      "...I found this guy right outside my den. He's a small little bird with a big heart, I think they're called chickadees. Anyways, Toby was unable to fly, so I took him in. I called him Kotoba, the japanese word for 'words', but his nickname is Toby. Now, he's by my side in everything I do, especially when I write my poems."

Accessories;;

Poet loves to get
rough, but she also
has quite a fashion
sense. She wears 3
different earrings and
a bracelet, which has
a star charm on it.
Deke gave it to her
one day, and she's
loved it ever since.

deke; "You see that star?"
poet; "What, the bright one?"
deke; "Pshh, yes. That's you... Shining bright, and letting your light stream across the sky..."
poet; "Wow..."

    So, after looking through everyone's forms, I chose a winner! I love the story and I really like space. The art is well done and I can tell that lots of effort was out into this!

--Ceres' story--

It has long since been known that Viscets are highly intelligent. We work alongside humans, just like dogs do. Sometimes, preforming certain tasks that dogs can not do. Science has put us to work in many situations that Humans are too afraid to work in, or that are too dangerous for them. They have put us through training, experimenting, and more. I think it is just luck that led me to where I am now....

I grew up in a lab, but not the kind you might typically imagine. No bars, no constant pricks of needles...though I did get my regular vaccines. The lab I was raised in was made to look exactly like a normal, everyday, human home. They made me comfortable, fed me great, took care of me. I never had to worry about a single thing. I was raised with others of my kind in a similar situation, we were pared up, two females, two males. Each room had two. Through our lives, growing up, all we had to do was take part in daily training. We did training separate, and then training together, as partners.

All of this training was to prepare us for one, simple task. To exit the earths atmosphere, enter space, and travel to the recently built space community shuttle. There was only a small group of humans on the shuttle, and a great deal of animals. All chosen for their intelligence and their ability to assist humans. From what I understand, preparations were almost complete...

Our task, once upon the community shuttle....was to be shoved out into space. Generation upon generation would live upon the self sustaining shuttle, traveling as far out as we possibly could and gathering samples, studying them, and sending all our information back to the command center at earth. We would be dropping satellites along the way, so that communication with earth could be sustained. That is not really that important, to me, though. I only have to focus on my own tasks that I have been trained for.

I, along with my fellow Viscets, have been trained how to operate certain machinery under the communication of certain symbols on a screen or word commands. We can not do complex operations, as of yet, but we still have learned how to maneuver in space in our own, personal suits. We will be the ones to go out and collect samples from planets, asteroids, and anything else we might happen to come across. Our job is easy, but also very fun. How many Viscets can say they have been to space? Not many!

The flight to the community shuttle was a little difficult, it made me sick to my stomach, but I managed to get through it. I think one of the most enjoyable things about the trip from earth to the shuttle, was the fact that...in space...we could float! It was fantastic! Me and my partner spent a small bit of time just floating here and floating there, chasing each other and even drifting about aimlessly. After so long of following directions daily, it was nice to be able to drift about on our own.

On to the community shuttle. Once we had all boarded the ship, we were given our rooms and our handlers. One human per pair of Viscets. My partner was as excited as I was now that we were in space. And we have a wonderful view in our room, too. Though the earth would soon be out of sight. I tell you...the things we have seen out of that single window have been amazing. Even more amazing is the jobs we now preform, since we are in space.

Despite all of our training, we really don't go out as much as I would like. There is just something amazing about drifting about in space, surrounded by stars and silence. It is peaceful to me, though my partner says it's scary. She always worries about if she got separated and drifted off into space. I told her she'd probably not float too far before she ran out of oxygen and died. I don't think this was the proper response, because of her reaction.

I wont pester you too much more with how absolutely amazing my job is, but I would like you to know...that it is, in fact, quite amazing. Haha, and very fun, too! There is not a single job on earth (or in space) that I would want more than what I do now. The humans don't pester us much, though we still go about our training. It is simply not as often as it was on earth. I suppose the experience we now have outweighs the controlled training they offer.

Well, now you know a little about where I came from, what I was trained for, and what I do, now. Let's see what else you need to know....

ABOUT HER
Well, I just told you a whole lot about me. Where I was born and what I was trained to do. Let's see what else there is to tell you...Actually, how about this? I will get my partner to give her perspective of me. I promise not to read it afterwards!

Ah...well. I don't really know what to say, Ceres and I are like sisters, we have been together since we were born. We have shared a room together, a handler together. I have shared all of my hopes and dreams with her...she has laughed at a few of them. But I really like that she seems to support me, even if my dreams seem to be...out of this world (Haha!) I guess it is safe to say that I love her like a sister too, since she has been there for me. She is very silly, sometimes, and always seems to be able to cheer me up when I am sad. Though sometimes I feel like she tries too hard. Like...Sometimes I can tell she gets lonely or sad, but when I ask her about it she just laughs and says I am imagining things. I feel bad, sometimes, because she has done so much for me, but I can't seem to get through to her when she really needs someone. She is like that, though. She tells me things, but I think she keeps her deepest worries and dreams to herself. I don't know if she thinks I will laugh, or not support her. Maybe she is just...not wanting to share. Besides that...hmm...Oh! I know! You know we are partners, right? Well, she saved my life, once! It was when we first got here and we finally went out into space in our suits. I was really nervous, and I made a few mistakes at one of the panels we were working on. I ended up getting a little shock that knocked me out. Had I been alone, chances are I would have run out of oxygen and died before anyone found me. Thankfully, she was there to drag me back inside and wake me up. I was embarrassed....but she made me feel better. She worries about me a lot, and she is very caring. I am really happy I was partnered with her at birth. I could not have asked for a better partner. <3 I love you Ceres! (I love you too, Jupiter! Sorry...I read it! Haha!)

DREAMS
My dream? It's...well...I guess I can tell you my biggest dream.
I think a lot of people have this dream, especially the ones like me, who venture into space!
I really, really, want to meet an alien! I mean, like, not just meet. I want to be friends with one! I daydream about it all the time! We are in space, it is so expansive...there is so much out here...I can't simply believe that Earth was the only planet that holds life. I honestly think that, somewhere in my journey, I have to find an alien. When I do, I want to know everything about it....I will learn its language, unless somehow it learns mine first! I will do my best to learn about its planet, where it came from. How do they live? What do they eat? What is their favorite food? Is their sky blue? Do they have oceans? I know, it is a lot....but I daydream about it all the time...I imagine their world, so different than mine...We are two different people, but I know we can get along if we try. Yes...I would like to make friends with an alien....don't laugh!

Relationships

(Before the space colony left earths orbit, several ships brought civilians aboard to try and form 'relationships' with those aboard. If a relationship was not formed, then they were sent back to earth. Space was not to be wasted aboard the colony.)

Nova~ (Belongs to SilverSamurai) ~:: Though Nova was brought aboard with the civilians, she was not intended to be forming a relationship with anyone. The humans apparently took note of her interest in space and took her aboard to study her reactions. This was a human attempt at better understanding Viscets and how deep their intelligence stemmed. Nova was left to her own devices, but she was watched very closely. From the moment she step aboard the space colony, she seemed in utter awe of everything that was going on. It was Ceres and Jupiter's handler that was tasked with befriending and guiding the female about the ship. This in turn meant that Ceres and Jupiter would get to go about for the tour, if they chose. With some persuading from Jupiter, Ceres finally decide to join her friend in meeting the others, especially Nova.

Jealousy was her first emotion when it came to Nova, for instantly both her handler and Jupiter seemed to become attached to Nova. It was clear that Nova had a great deal of intelligence and a vast knowledge of space. Most of what Nova spoke, Ceres already knew, but there were some things that, despite her jealousy, she found interesting. Things she had not known. With effort on Ceres' part, she try and rid herself of the jealousy and give Nova a chance, and upon doing so, she found that the older female was absolutely amazing. Not only could she share information and teach Ceres and Jupiter, but she spent time telling the two of simple stories as well. Stories of earth, her mate and family. Of how things outside of a laboratory were done. Neither Ceres nor Jupiter had ever been outside of the lab facilities. Ceres found herself enamored with Nova and her stories, and in turn, she and Jupiter try and share all the knowledge of space that they knew. They even decided to sneak her out of the community...into actual space! Ceres even decided to share her dream with Nova, feeling that, of all the viscets she had ever met, perhaps this one would understand her. She had been scared of Nova laughing at her, and indeed, she did laugh...But it wasn't a harsh or judging laugh, but one of understanding. They did not exactly share the same dream, but Nova share with her the idea that....She had only gone to space in her dreams and look where she was now! Nova shared with Ceres an encouragement to never allow her dream to die, and that no matter how crazy it may seem to others, or even herself....that it was worth chasing.

Though Jupiter is her best friend, and like a sister to her. It was Nova that claimed a special piece of Ceres' heart and left memories that will never fade. The day that Nova left was a day that Ceres will never forget. Knowing that she would never see Nova again, she gave her the only item she really had to give. A simple name tag with her name on it and the logo of the space community. In turn...Nova gave her a tight hug and whisper in her ear....Never give up on your dreams...
Nova wanted to hear, one day, that life had been found somewhere in space, and that due to a brave, intelligent, little Viscet known as Ceres, a friendship had been formed. Teary eyed and full of sorrow, Ceres release Nova and allow her to take her place on the ship back to earth. Back to her mate and her family. Away from space...
Ceres will never forget Nova, and one day, when she meets an alien, she will tell them of her friend, Nova, who told her to never give up on her dreams...
