The only relationship Criss ever had was with her father, who passed away.

History
Criss has had a difficult life. Her mother and father had been captured, and put aboard a cargo ship, to be taken to the black market and sold. She was born, just as the ship was sinking. Her father grabbed her, and saved her, eventually swimming to a nearby shore. He died of old age there, knowing he'd saved his daughter, and kept the memory of her mother alive. Crystal Dream is still scared of being alone, and if course, water.
