Art- traditional art. (for this art, i decided to do something different. i tried to recreate what i imagined this viscet would look like as a betta with watercolors. this was painted and scanned.)
Story- zidon's pace slowed as the sound of water grew louder. his favorite noise in the whole forest brought a smile to his face. zidon slowly padded up the sand bank. the sand/gravel mixture was wet under his paw pads. Looking around, he could see faint animal footprints, mostly birds and small rodents. zidon quickly recognized the species of large bird; the blue heron. he saw these tall, thin-legged birds often. zidon's gaze returned to the water. the depth was low during the dry season, so very few animals were around. small ripples indicated that small fish were near. zidon placed his front legs into the cool water, and in one quick motion, pushed off into the stream. the water was barely deep enough for swimming, but was crystal-clear. zidon could easily see the bottom of the river, and schools of small, thin fish darted below his body. a small gleam caught zidon's attention. he quickly plummeted his head downward, while his tail softly followed behind his body. the river was only around ten feet deep, and zidon was extremely good at diving & holding his breath. he reached out in front of him, grabbed the object, and pushed his hind legs against the muddy bottom of the river. zidon returned to the water's surface and held the small quartz gem out of the water. after inspecting the crystal, zidon returned to the river's bank. he would now wait for the sun to set, and the small flickering lightning bugs to come out. {261 words}

watching the world turn around me, until my lungs burned and my constant shivering annoyed me to
the point of surfacing. With a quick flick of my tail I breached the surface, choking and spasming for
air. I pouted a bit as I clamored to the bank, shaking off the beads of water. Turning toward the deep
blue I smiled fondly, cherishing the moment, before rushing back to the warmth of my den."
