Personality: there's something a bit melancholy about stark. he's a quiet horse, even tempered and well mannered, though there's something about him that's also brooding and thoughtful. he's one of those animals you can talk to and it feels like they're really listening. he has these eyes, a warm brown color, that are expressive in a way that they're also sad. lonely. he's often an outcast amongst other horses, and it's not uncommon to see him by himself, hiding underneath layers of thick canopy in the summer to shield himself from outside, watchful gazes, and in the winter when there's no canopy to hide under, he stands still as a statue in the billowing wind and knee-high snow, his dark and white coat standing out broadly against the winter background in a way he wished it didn't. when feeding time comes around, he's not pushy, he's not excited. he trudges along, clearly focusing on something else inside his mind, and then when he's put in his stall he eats, but it's obvious to anyone watching that he's not focused on that task. when he's being ridden it's a bit better, it's something to distract him from the thoughts in his own head, but sometimes it's hard to keep his attention on what's going on. he's injured himself a few too many times by now paying attention to- be it over trot poles, walking on trails and stepping in the wrong place, or tripping over his own feet that he refused to pick up enough to actually walk. so maybe he doesn't make the best riding horse, he doesn't even really seem to make the best horse in general. no horse has a right to be as silently expression and deeply personal and endlessly thoughtful and brooding as stark is. it's almost- unsettling in a way, but also in a way it's reassuring, and unique, and just strange. stark's okay with being viewed as a bit strange though. it's better than being like everybody else.

He is the big boss when he is in the paddock, his size and coloration always put him at the center of attention and he loves it.

Personality: Bane is cold, to say the least. He doesn't care much about horses' feelings or humans' feelings very much. He likes to cause them frustration and brings them near to tears (at least beginner riders, anyway). He requires an experienced rider who doesn't hesitate and they have to tell him exactly what they want from him. Sometimes, Bane decides to be a stuck-up snot and refuse to be ridden some days, all for the heck of frustrating his riders. He's very cool and level-headed, but on bad days, he can be irritable and downright dangerous. He loves hiding human possessions all around in tall or hidden places and watch the humans cry in frustration and hopelessness. He isn't there for love. He's there to cause frustration and to work, to be the best.

Personality: He is strong willed, natural born leader, and has the highest spirit. He was born into a family that did not want him. This past gives him a great advantage to show compassion to his herd. Keiki knows that spirits are what make a great horse. Leading a herd needs to take spirit, the will to do the right thing, be brave, and to put the herd before himself.

The only time he is out of his league is when he is facing a challenger, Taffy may not be a coward be he defiantly isn't a fighter.
