the day they met
- xxxxxx"Love of mine, someday you will die, but I'll be close behind. I'll follow you, into the dark," the soothing music floods your ears, envelopes you in it's gentle softness. "No blinding light, or tunnels to gates of white, just our hands clasped so tight. Waiting for the hint of a spark," You can't help but smile as the gentle tune fills your mind. You knock on the door ever lightly, hoping the resident won't end the song abruptly. You want to hear it till the ending. "If heaven and hell decide, that they both are-" You practically wince as the next line is cut off. Unfortunate. You'd definately find that song later, allow it's perfect melody to steal your attention once more.
xxxxxxThe door creaks open just an inch, and you wonder whether or not you should attempt to push the oak-framed door open more. Before you can decide, the silhouette of a child appears in the sliver of vision you have access to. A strong odour of mint greets you, homely and sharp, all at once. From what you can see, the room is small, with a large window. You take note to the child's excellent taste in views. She or he, you can't tell quite yet, but you can see that they have a knitted tuque hastily pulled down over his or her face, masking their forehead and eyes. As they open their mouth to speak, you determine that their voice is clearly a feminine one.

- xxxxxxYou crack a small smile, and the plumerian behind you makes his first noticeable move. You almost forgot he was there. His voice is smooth and even, "I'm Billie, and this is my... significant other, Crispus," It claps it's hands together gleefully, and the child seems to wince at the sharp noise. You can't quite tell though, as most of her face is still obscured by the beanie. This time, you decide to talk. "We're here to..." You have no idea what to say. 'Hi, I'm Crispus and we were wondering if you wanted to be adopted by us?' He was insane. "See if you wanted to potentially come live with us." He smiled at the end, hoping to help get rid of at least a bit of her shock.

- xxxxxxHer voice is shaky and a bit uneven now. You hate yourself for making her feel unsure. "You mean, like... Adopt me?" You couldn't see her eyes, but considering how her tuque had inched up her forehead, you thought she'd raised her eyebrows. Billie chimes in from behind, perhaps a touch too loud, but sympathetic all the same. "It's okay! We're not creepy or anything." You stifle a laugh. Even in the sort of dim atmosphere, it managed to remain cheery. The child before you didn't seem as amused. "Um... excuse my friend, there. He's a bit too happy for his own good, sometimes." You reach back, and elbow it gently in the arm. "Could I ask you something?"
xxxxxxShe tentatively nods her head, clearly not sure whether she wants to answer the question coming up or not. "Why do you wear your tuque like that?I'm sure we'd have an easier time getting to know you if we could see your pretty face." She nods no. Your heart sinks slightly in your chest, but you don't want to force her to do anything. Billie edges forward from behind you, and stands beside you now. "I loved your music! What song was that?" She cracks a small smile, and you're grateful for the relieved tension. She visually relaxes, and you almost see a smile on her face. She leans against the wooden frame of the doorway now, instead of standing rigidly beside it.
xxxxxx"It's by 'Death Cab For Cutie'. The song is called 'I'll Follow You Into the Dark'." You edge back in, and add your two cents to the conversation. "I'm not one for music really," she seems crestfallen. She probably adores music. "But, my favourite song would definitely be 'Soul Meets Body', by 'Death Cab For Cutie'. She seems to perk up again, and it warms your heart to see her happy, even if you've only known her for a few short minutes. Billie seems to be getting restless, and so you decide to find a way to keep chatting, and let it get some exercise. "Do you want to go for a walk around the center? I'd really love it if you could give me a little tour."

- xxxxxxYou listen intently as the child hums the soft melody of 'I'll Follow You Into the Dark', and half-skips slowly down the hallway. The words she said quietly as she slipped out the oaken door of her room weren't quite filled with love, but they sounded accepting. Like the beginning of something. Billie seemed to survey her outfit with interest, and suddenly bursts into cosmetologist-mode. "Well, darling, you're certainly gorgeous. Now, I don't have any makeup on my right now, but I wouldn't have you wear it, anyway." The child seems relieved that it wasn't going to do her up in it's make-up products. "But, I believe I do have something for you!"
xxxxxxYou're half surprised as Billie untwines his prize white silk scarf from around it's slender neck, and twines it around that of the child in front of him. "Thank you." She mumbled quietly, marvelling at the accessory wound around her. "It's very nice." You smile, and unpin your beloved horse pin from your plain white teeshirt. You pin it lightly onto her new scarf, careful not to poke the young girl. She smiles up at you, a real smile. The first one you've seen on her face since you met her earlier that morning. And nothing could've made you happier in that moment, than the radiant grin on the girl's sweet, small face. You truly hoped that you'd see it quite often.

why they are suitable parents
- xxxxxxCrispus and Billie would serve as wonderful parents for this plumerian, mainly due to the fact that they have one child already. They already know how to care for, and love a child, and feel completely ready to take on the challenge of another. Crispus has cared for animals his whole life, so he is especially nurturing in the area of children, so he can serve the basic needs of a child; including love. And Billie specializes in making others feel beautiful more than anything. No matter how self conscious someone may be, Billie can make them feel like the most gorgeous plumerian it's ever met. This child would be in good hands with Crispus and Billie.
