Now what? // Apotheosis watches closely, noticing the face behind the monster before a loud boom nearly bursts their eardrums and the monster disappears out of sight. The light collector flicks its ears, temporarily speechless at the sheer amount of odd happenings that have spurred on their night. They didn't really know what to think or do from here, certainly not head back out, but if they couldn't leave, then how would they return home? 'It's unlikely anything useful lays in the woods beyond.' they hypothosize, 'but what of here in the village? There must be SOME sort of clue as to how we can return home.' With that in mind Apotheosis turns to the wolf nearest them. "Perhaps there is a clue here in the village they may help us return home." they chirp before moving to address the villager next. "There must be something, right?"

DAY SEVENTEEN!

Reactions? No what?! // Apotheosis' heart grew heavy with dread with each word the villager spoke. So there really isn't any escape for them at all then? Impossible. There must be a place the monsters can't get too, how else could this village had survived otherwise? It was a trivial thought, one that the Light Collector had no intention of sharing, however, the moment the villager turned tail and ran at the wolf's accusation, they knew what it meant. 'They're hiding something!' Quick as a flash Apotheosis dashes after them, calling over his shoulder. "Follow them!" was all they could get out before dashing after the fleeing candy wolf at full speed.

Wait wait wait. WHAT? Choward was completely unready for this plot twist. "The villagers are candy wolves.... and the monsters are candy creatures.... That means that either the candy wolves ARE the candy monsters, OR the candy monsters eat the poor candy wolves. Further polite conversation is required at once!" He started running after the stranger. "Wait! Come back! We won't hurt you!"

Day eighteen will be lasting until the 26th so everyone has a chance to enter! I know some of you are probably going to be busy tomorrow, so that's why it's lasting over the course of two days. There will probably be another round after that, too.

Day Eighteen //
You nod, hearing the many ideas of the wolves. Some began running towards the villager and if you weren't already, you start to run, too. You arrive in the center of the village, then you see the mayor. "Mmm, welcome back!" He yells, then looks at you. "What?" You stare more, then he smirks. "I see you've discovered our secret." The villager who ran away peaks out from behind a building and begins to morph into a large monster. The mayor soon follows and other creatures emerge from the woods swiftly. Before you know it, you're surrounded by shapeshifting shadow candy monsters. "Did you ever really think we were gonna let you out? We don't get too many visitors here... Mmmm..." The one that was the mayor cackles, then the creatures begin to close in. There are too many... You don't know if you can fight them all off...

Reaction? // The villages, ALL of them, begin to morph, and with each new terrifying addition Apotheosis' hackles rise. This was bad, very bad. There was no way they could fight them off. 'We have numbers, but we don't even know what these creatures can do.' the Light Collector hypothesizes, staring the creatures down. 'We have to run, but where? Every where we go is surrounded by the barrier, unless....' An idea pops into their head. 'We checked all around this village except the point where we all arrive in the first place!' they think excitedly, remembering how they came upon this place through a tunnel. 'Maybe there is a weakness there, and maybe, just maybe, we can trick these creatures into breaking it!' It was a foolish plan, but the only one Apotheosis could come up with, so without any more time to think they call out to the other wolves behind them. "HEAD FOR THE BEGINNING OF THE FOREST!" they yell then, mustering all they can, a great light erupts from their tail, blinding the monster villagers in a flash of bright white, then turns tail to run with the wolves back to where they came from.

Reaction? // Eugene, ever appearing to keep his cool, had been rummaging his paws in the snow while the creatures closed in. The mayor insists upon pulling the stereotypical villain says your never going to get out speech. Eugene thought, with a grimace. Then, finishing his work, he picked up in his paws a fully formed snowball and tossed it directly at the mayor's face, taking advantage of the fact he was gloating.

Reaction? // Faylinn threw a snowball at what was the mayor before squealing in horror as her attempt did nothing to stop the monsters. "Everybody run!!!" She squealed loudly and began to run towards the light by the edge of the forest.

Reaction? // I rolled my eyes. "Cut the theatrics. This is clearly all for show. Someone's behind this. You might remember that not one of us has touched you the entire time we've been here. This is because you're all just holograms," I said, sticking my paw through the one nearest to me, watching it glitch at the sudden contact. I smirked. "C'mon. You'll have to do better than that to fool this old dog. Now, to whoever is REALLY running this elaborate ruse, answer me what I asked earlier. Why is there a glass wall that seems to surround every single area we explore? Oh, and most importantly, if there's a way in, there's a way out. How do we get out of here?" Pausing before delivering the final blow, I glared at the "creatures" that surrounded me. "You know, if you wanted to trap us, why go to all these lengths? Why not just lure us here, pull the rope, and catch us right away? What's the the elaborate, time-wasting strategy you devised? It's really not time-effective or cost-effective, you know."

Reaction? // Ryland didn't mess around. She'd gone through too much crap - being chased by monsters, being harassed - even being in an earthquake, for Pete's sake. She'd had enough. She sprung towards the mayor, jaws snapping. "Fight me, you creep!" She snarled in his face, attempting to wound him somehow, despite her minuscule size.

Reaction? // Maximus is not entirely surprised to see that the mayor was never a good man to begin with. However, he did not see this coming. In a state of shock, he slowly backs away from the mayor. Looking arounf, he formulates a plan. Behind the mayor is the wall blocking off the field from which they were originally found by the mayor. There are no monsters that way. "FOLLOW ME! TRUST ME!" He yells to the pack, as he darts past the mayor duing his transformation. At first the pack was hesitant but they followed suit when they realized that the mayor was a bit busy transforming and they were surrounded from behind. They soon reached the glass wall and backed up against it. As the huge group of candy monsters approached, the mayor swung a large claw at the group. "Duck!" Max yelled, hoping his plan to have the mayor break his own wall would work out. THey were screwed otherwise.

Day Nineteen //
The mayor monster looks up at the wolf flapping above. "Do you really think we would let you think we're good? We can put on any mask we want and try it out... We don't get many visitors," He smiled. Wolves were scrambling as the creatures drew in for a final attack when suddenly, a coincidence that I would scold happens the loud, swirling snowing fills the air. The monsters' grumbles are drowned out by the bustling wind and yet again, you find yourself shrouded by the light. You hear cackling in the distance as you regain sight. The group is back at the party, huddled close together as a wolf you hadn't seen before merges. They hold an ancient book and twirl around a snowglobe.
