Hoping to enter for this Plumie. ♥ So, reserving. :3
Name: Kenelm Geier
Name Meaning: Kenelm is from the Old English name Cenhelm, which was composed of the elements cene "bold, keen" and helm "helmet". Saint Kenelm was a 9th-century martyr from Mercia, where he was a member of the royal family. The name was occasionally used during the Middle Ages, but has since become rare. Geier means "vulture" in German, a nickname for someone who is greedy.
Gender: ♂
Story:
Silently I watched and waited in the thick of the night. No moonlight trickled in to aid me, I had to rely entirely upon my night vision to help me see in the murky darkness I found myself in. Good, I liked a good challenge. Keeps things interesting and fun.
I licked my lips in anticipation, eager for the moment to arise, the moment I had been hours waiting for. The moment to pounce.
I knew it would come, it was inevitable and I had been biding my time as I had waited for it to happen. The lights flickered and I couldn't help but let a cocky smile spread across my face. It was going to happen, tonight was the night.
The storm raging outside was sure to knock the power out and this building was too old and not nearly well funded to have and automatic back-up generator, which meant that it was entirely dependent upon its security guards being in the important places whenever the power cut out and on at least one of them going down to where the generator was to turn it on. The odds of which were extremely low. I'd done the calculations, I would most certainly be in the clear whenever the power went out. One could say that the odds were in my favor tonight.
I listened as the rain pelted against the windows and the rumble of the thunder, the storm was getting more and more turbulent. It wouldn't be long, I thought to myself, an instant before the power died in the building.
It was time.
I leapt into action, ticking off the seconds in my mind, knowing that it would take a completely fit security guard only 15 minutes to get down to where the back up generator was, unlock the door, and fiddle with it until it turned on. I had 15 minutes to get what I had come here for.
This is what I live for.
A count down.
A limited window of opportunity.
Danger.
Oh yes! This was definitely what I lived for.
This was one of the many reasons why I had chosen to become a thief, other than the fact that the pay was good. The adrenaline rush was addictive and I loved the rush I felt.
Ten minutes left and I'd only just reached the display case where my prize was held within. Grinning, I pulled out my glass cutter and got to work, all the while still counting down in my head.
Eight minutes left when the glass was finally cut, punching it in with my leather clad hand, I reached in and grabbed my prize. The Eye of Hades. Pulling it out, I stashed it in the inner pocket of my leather jacket. I turned around and glanced about to make sure that the coast was clear, I had seven minutes to go.
