Seven years ago...
Ashes danced from the ground as a young Empire laid in the rubble, a helpless squeak coming form him as he squirmed under the fallen tree. The you X one squirmed and writhed under the log, trying in vain to free his trapped tail and leg. His puny claws scrapped against the soot which caused the ash to drift into the air and onto his nose. The viscling sneezed and released another helpless noise. Behind him, the dark silloutte of a wolf approached him. The large creature sniffed at the log before digging near the visclings hindlegs, loosening the packed in dirt and ash and freeing Empires leg. Promtly, he squirmed and wiggled his way out from under the log, before rolling and flailing out on the warm ground, his breath coming out in pathetic pants. The wolf jumped the log with ease and gazed down at the viscling before picking him up carefully in its jaws and walking deeper into the woods.
Present day
Everything fell silent as the deer stepped from its forest sanctuary into the broad meadow to graze. Down wind, Empire stood, his nose dipped down as he surveyed the deer ahead of him, a pack of wolves waiting for his command. A large wolf walked and stood beside him, watching the deer with drool dripping from its mouth. It looked at Empire anxiously, wondering why the command was not given. It was then that the herd slowly existed their shelter and began to graze, at the heart of it, perhaps the biggest stag either had seen. Empire flicked his ear and dashed off, rounding about the herd to get closer to the stag. The pack of wolves branched around before rushing the herd. Panicked, the deer sprinted in every direction, the stag running straight toward Empire. The hunt was completed with a single crashing blow.
Later that night, Empire laid beside the den of his adoptive father, lapping at his paws to sooth the burning feeling they gained when he ran too fast or grabbed something too hard. The large wolf approached him before laying beside him and licking his ears. Empire let out a satisfied grunt and nuzzled the wolf in appreciation. In his time away from other viscets, Empire had learned instincts foreign to him, some savage and merciless, others full of content and happiness. He could not speak to other viscets, his few encounters with them ended in awkward separation, and he was rather protective of a small toy he had found four years ago, that he named through a hefty grunting noise. Though his pack was not a natural one for a Viscet, they had accepted him as one of their own, and gave him a name that meant Fire Born. No, it was not Empire, as Empire is more of a nickname. His name, is Tsuktawoizee, the Viscet raised by wolves and born from fire.
