How they received the scar:
[This is in Glory's perspective - read it slowly for more of an effect of sorts ]
It was a bad time of day, a bad hour to be out in the open.
It was evening, the point where most of the dangerous predators began their hunts.
I could sense it. There was a very large pack of wolves slowly surrounding our herd.
I don't understand why, but nobody did anything.
There was no true panic. More just like a calm sorrow.
A minute later, I understood. I understood it all.
The wolves began rushing in and all the matured members of the herd
ran off at high speed leaving us uniformed, confused, and defenseless.
My twin and I were left along with a few other foals. Left to be sacrificed.
So this was their plan. I knew something was wrong at how calm they were
and the fact the mares seemed more... upset.
I knew it couldn't end there though. I utterly refused to let our lives end there.
I also knew I couldn't save everyone either.
Thinking fast, I called my twin and whoever could hear me to follow my tracks.
I was no where near strong enough to try to defend the others, so I decided
this was the best way.
I started running, narrowly escaping the grasps of some wolves.
When I was further away and to the point where we'd certainly lost the wolves,
I turned around. There was no one besides my twin. In the far distance
I could see some trails of blood but that was all.
We were both severely injured but we had to go on or else the wolves
would track us by scent. I was clawed on the face and my sibling on the neck.
Luckily no major veins were hit but we were still in pain. The wounds were
deep and agonizing. I attempted to catch up with our herd, but no luck.
They were far gone.
We were completely alone.

We walked, walked hours beyond hours in efforts to find a new grassy plain to graze on.
One away from the forest.
In the glory and light of the morning sun, I finally saw acres of pure grassland before me.
It seemed unoccupied as well.
We survived.
Finally, a place we could rest and recover.

SCAR STORY:: Indy is a wild colt and was rejected by his mother. With no authority to help separate them, he took the beating. The herd left him behind as well as another foal who was weak. They've survived many tragedies and are as close as ever. Being wild horses, they haven't had proper grooming so the scars never healed and are now permanent.

A day that I'm glad I survived
How they received the scar: they were born in the wild, but were born at a bad time. The mother was just going into labor when a brush fire started. (I'm basing this off of YellowStone) since the park is a national park that can't have people trying to protect against brush fire and whatnot, the flames raged on, the stress and the fumes of the hot licks of the flames nipping at her ankles caused her labor to quicken. Unable to continue on running, she collapsed in a dip of the land. While trapped in the ditch, the mother gave birth to the two foals. Unfortunatly, because of the complications during the birthing process and the stress from the fire, the mother died, leaving the poor colt and filly orphaned. Miraculously, the two were able to escape the monstrous inferno with only a few scars from walking on wobbly legs. The two now fend for themselves while living near a heard of bison.
