Delta Velorum Foxes are tall looking foxes that are only located on the remote planet of Delta Velorum.
Standing between 2 - 2 1/2 feet at the should, Delta Velorum Foxes are very tall in appearance compared to Red Foxes on Earth. They tend to be long legged in appearance and are well known for their endurance and agility. Males tend to be more muscular then females while female are more slender and elegant in appearance. A Delta Foxes fur tends to be very soft and short, and come in a wide variety of natural colors. It is not uncommon to see them in roans and dun colors similar to horses and are commonly seen in cat colors and patterns as well (such as calico, tabby, bengal markings ect). However the combination of colors and patterns are limitless, and each Delta Velorum Fox is different from the next. No two are ever the same in looks. Delta Velorum Foxes can come in any eye color and combination - no matter if it's natural or unnatural. A fox with two or more eye colors (known as Heterochromia) is uncommon but not unheard of.

Name: Dissonance ('Dis', 'Dissy' or 'Sonny' for short)
Name Meaning: (from the New Oxford American Dictionary) lack of harmony among musical notes. I thought this fit him, seeing that he has a wild and crazy look to him.
Gender: Todd
Personality: Sonny was a 'popular kid' during his youth due to his outrageous looks, which made him quite vain and a bit obnoxious to be around since he complained about how the humidity was ruining his mane or such. However, when his sister Mara died, he withdrew from his former friends, becoming an enigma to some degree. He likes being alone most times and doesn't show much emotion, but he's willing to open up about his emotions to someone he really knows and trusts.
Likes: His mane (who wouldn't?), crabs (he has long and strong enough teeth to crack very hard shells), dry places
Dislikes: Lack of trees, winter (being caused by his sister's death), cold (see previous), wet places (see previous)
Fast Facts: (1) Sonny's somewhat bitter to teen vixens, seeing that he lost his dearly loved sister at this age. He's upset that those vixens get to live, unlike his sister. (2) Sonny sometimes got scents of wildflowers when he was close to the Dellhaven border, which was partially a motivator for going there first. (3)
History: Sonny was born into the Wolfmarsh Clan to a middle-aged couple. He was a littermate to 3 others, and had two older siblings. His youth was filled with hunger (at least that's what he's remembered) due to the scarce prey in the marsh. One of Sonny's older siblings succumbed to this hunger when Sonny was only a few months old. He doesn't remember others mocking him for his appearance; there's a few memories of the other kits wanting to be his friend because of it. Sonny liked being around others and playing the typical games. He liked joking around with his buddies as he grew up. His mother started cutting his mane every so often with a sharp piece of flint so it wouldn't get too out of control (no matter how wicked it looked) around this age.
When he and his two littermates (the runt had been sickly and died soon after birth) were young trainees, they made a fateful decision to hunt alone in winter. As the stalked a rabbit straying from the Dellhaven plain, they did not see that they were stepping on a large pool of water, although not very deep. Sonny and one of his littermates fell in, while the other had been able to jump off. They did not drown, but both suffered from severe hypothermia, which later cost Sonny's littermate her life. Sonny was very distraught at his sister's death, and could not be consoled for a long time. He began to grow his hair out and look more chaotic, symbolizing the chaos and guilt inside of him for not saving her.
Sonny left for his pilgrimage early with no intentions of returning. He said a very final good-bye to his remaining family in spirit (he did not tell his family he was leaving): his last littermate, his older sibling, and his mother and father. Sonny wandered alone for many months, which turned into a year, and then a year and a half. After this great period of no belonging, he finally made up his mind for where he wanted to be: Mistlyn. Their prey was abundant. Sonny never wanted to experience prey shortage after what happened to his eldest sibling, and also, the war paint colors complimented his fur. What could be better?

I imagine that Sonny has this haunting and creepy smile like below, similar to the Chesire cat. He's self-conscious of it, so he normally keeps a calm, 'why-am-I-here' expression.
Dissonance heaved himself out of his faded green nest, slinking out of his family's tightly-packed burrow. Maysilee, his little sister, was nuzzled up next to their mother, sleeping very soundly. The gentle rise and fall of her flank lulled Sonny for a second; what was he doing, leaving her without a goodbye? She didn't deserve to lose another sibling after what had recently happened to Mara. He forced himself to look away and exit. I need to do this, he thought.
Sonny grabbed a little pack he'd been stashing under some ferns directly outside the den, softly picking it up with his grotesque teeth. The odd-looking fox looked to the sky. It was barely dawn, which meant almost everyone was in their dens. A soft frost had covered the ground during the night, signaling the impending winter to come. Sonny had had enough with the snow and ice that had snatched his sister from him only about a month prior. He reluctantly padded to the camp exit pointing to the Dellhaven border, going over his plans in his head. Sonny turned to a newly dug burrow close to the camp exit. His eldest brother, Matthias, had recently taken a mate and dug a new burrow for them to live in. Although newly courted, his mate was bound to be expecting pups by spring. Dissonance would never be there for what his brother said was his greatest dream in life. Again, he pushed away the thought.
Dellhaven's the easiest to join, but they have those open fields. I like trees, Sonny pondered. I'll check them out for a while and if I don't like them, I'll go to Rockhollow. No, Rockhollow won't accept me once they find out I'm from Wolfmarsh. They're always skittish with new ones. Sonny barely realized where he was going, and almost bumped into the alpha of the Wolfmarsh clan. Sonny froze and stood upright, rigid, military-like. The alpha eyed the teen's small, pitiful looking pack. It was stained with mud from being used countless times, and also from being left out accidentally in a small thaw recently.
"Going early, eh?" the alpha woofed quietly. Dissonance nodded respectfully. Will he make me stay? he thought nervously. Instead, the alpha merely stepped aside, opening the path for him to walk out of the camp. Dissonance, expecting a different reaction, looked to his alpha, surprised, but the alpha merely nodded, replying quietly, "Go, now."
Dissonance padded forward unconfidently. To make things even worse, Sonny stumbled and tripped ungracefully over a tree root. He was covered in mud. Oh, frog droppings! he thought. Looking back to the alpha with the utmost embarrassment on his face, Dissonance noticed that the alpha had already snuck off somewhere else. Skittishly, Dissonance grabbed his bag's very meager spilled possessions and darted off, away from Wolfmarsh forever.

Story]
"Don't let the red ones go out..." A small voice slipped into my ears, full of warning, fear, from my side in the dimly lit room. "Why?" my head tilted to the side, a match in my grasp. "Garkov." the voice replied, just as I lit the match and touched it to the wick of a white candle, illuminating the room just enough that the face of my cousin,Vladimir. "Don't be silly, Vlad, Garkov is just a story." I gave a snort, my gaze landing on the frightened eyes of my little cousin. "Oh fine. I won't let the red ones go out." my voice was a growl at this point, annoyed at the child. Vlad offered me a smile, taking the second red candle, the newly lit one, to his bedside table before crawling under the covers. "Thank you, Alice." He yawned, falling asleep not long after. I shook my head, leaning over each of our four candles and blowing them out, one by one. This was my first mistake before I crawled into my own bed...
Later on, with the moon well on its way to the center point of the sky, a scratching outside my window woke me up. Shrugging it off as the tree, I rolled away from the light, trying to fall back asleep only to be met with a soft, deep laugh. "Turning over will not keep me at bay..." Came the voice of a much older male, a deep, throbbing and echoing voice that sent a shiver down my spine. "I'm dreaming." I mumbled, blinking slowly. I turned back over, only to be met with the flash of white, the sickly smile of something with teeth that glowed as if they were the moon, and a single eye the color of crimson, the same crimson that hung in the most pooling into the room. "You shouldn't have blown the red ones out..." The figure chuckled, running a slimy, wet hand over my cheek. I couldn't scream, couldn't breath, as I realized that his hand was slick with drying blood. "Pity you didn't listen to little Vlad." the single red eye flared, and that was the last glimpse of any color to the world I saw, those were the last words I heard, before Garkov added me to the crimson depths of his never ending mist.
