what do they do to convince others that they are harmless?; Symbolism is important to He. To convince others that he is harmless, He does various things:

Keeping his eyes wide and interested, which is a sign of curiosity, and of childlike innocence. If He looks innocent and curious, he's less likely to appear threatening. This is more of a habit than a working method, however, as He often forgets that his eyes just look like empty sockets.
Wearing a collar around his neck. He feels that if he shows that he is owned by another, he will be more likely to come across as docile. The collar is heavy and simple, and shows that he is tame, and that he is owned by those around him and the local community, rather than being wild and harmful.
Placing one hand diagonally over his mouth, which is his own personal symbol for safety. This is often paired with tilting his head forward slightly, and breaking any eye contact which may have been made previously. The hand over his mouth shows quiet and calm, and that he doesn't bite, having eye contact is sometimes seen as a sign of aggression so he does the opposite, and inclining his head shows respect and manners. He only uses it when others seem to be worried, and he has no proof that it actually shows he's harmless, but it makes him feel more comfortable.
Speaking quietly at all times. He doesn't quite whisper everything he says, but He always uses his 'indoor voice'. Being quiet can imply hiding things, which is negative, but it can also show calmness, and He finds that the positives outweigh the negatives.
Wearing a tiger's eye bracelet, as tiger's eye represents honesty and reliability, both of which he aims to have. The bracelet is a solid silver cuff (The fact that it is actual silver shows truth and the fact that it is a cuff shows ownership again) with one line running all the way around it. On the very centre of the cuff, the line splits into two around the embedded tiger's eye, then re-forms into one again. This shows choice, and the lack of complex patterns shows that He is easy to read and is not hiding anything.

What do they do to convince others that they are harmless?;

Jex can come across as quite a shy plumie and normally won’t approach others. He tends to let
people come to him, but this rarely happens because others think that he could be dangerous.
This can upset Jex because even though no-one knows that he wouldn’t harm anyone, no one
takes their chances in approaching him.
After learning that his appearance doesn’t help him gain friends, he carries around a small pale
blue satchel. It is quite tatty and has a few holes and rips, but he refuse to buy another one.
However, this is not how he gets people to see him as the sweetheart he is. Inside, is a small wad
of colourful card. He carries this around wherever he goes so when he finds someone who feels
nervous around him because of his appearance, he will make them a small origami animal or
flower. His favourite to make is an origami deer because it symbolises gentleness, kindness and
sensitivity, just a few words to describe his personality. You may think that some of his designs
are very complicated and would take far too long to make to reassure someone that he is harmless,
but his skilled folding techniques are quick yet simple and the edges are always neatly folded.
Jex doesn’t wear anything else because he feels that anything too bright will attract unwanted
stares which would make him feel uneasy. He also tries his best not to smile with his teeth showing,
because he has heard that he looks “creepy” or “terrifying” from other plumies nearby. So when he
does smile, he tries his best to keep his mouth closed to prevent startling others.

quill always fails at convincing others.
ever since she was young she as been bullied for her appearance, she tried her very best by saying she was not what they think she was. She always tried and one day... just gave up. She deiced if nobody believed her she had to believe in herself. She tends to ignore people if they ignore her, she wouldn't stand up to herself even if they made fun of her. She most often stay's inside reading in her house

what do they do to convince others that they are harmless?; Emillio often dresses up as a wacky clown, often painting his face and wearing funny costumes, and tries to make others laugh by telling punny jokes, and make balloon animals and give them to children. On the days that Emillio does not dress up as a clown, he wears bright and funny-looking clothing. Emillio has always been a goofball and he always tries to make people laugh or smile. Even though he has a ghastly appearance, Emillio has a big heart and is very kind...well, when he's not doing one of his many tricks!

Despite these efforts, most just know he's harmless anyway.

Seto tends to jump at any quick movement. he carries around a cat plush he call fuzzy. The plush is a bit bigger than seto's head, but it's tail drags along the ground, making seto look shorter than he already is. This greatly reduces his fear factor.

Isoba has many ways to convince others that he is harmless. He is very energetic but gets nervous when talking to new people. He has a very soft and kind voice and is always happy to talk when he knows that they are comfortable talking to him. He has very good hygiene, and always smells like lavender. He also tries to make people happy and he is ready to help anyone who needs it. Even though he doesn't have lots of money he always gives money to organizations and volunteers at many places such as animal rescue and helping homeless people and other places. He always wears a shirt with quotes on it such as 'Do not go where the path may lead, go instead where there is no path and leave a trail.' -Ralph Waldo Emerson .
