what do they do to convince others that they are harmless?;
Samara's walking dead like appearance is enough to make anyone cringe,and the fact that she cannot speak makes it worse.Samara is a mute and has been that way from birth.Another thing that doesn't help is that due to her shy nature,she hides in the shadows.
In order to prove she's harmless,she does just that.Samara doesn't need flashy things,or need to do a certain thing to prove that.She just simply needs to show them that she won't harm them.Whether it be from showing them,or having someone else prove it to them.
Sybil's eyes darted across the room of the abandoned house,whining as her son,Zavier,walked ahead of them until he was eventually gone from sight.Suddenly realizing who that meant she was left with,she slowed her pace so they wouldn't be as near.Samara.Try as she might,Sybil had never been comfortable around her,since the day Zavi brought her home.
The brown Plumerian had always been distrusting.She tried her best to get past the girl's looks,but never could.She would shutter every time the Plumerian was close.
A slight breeze rushing past her jolted her out of her thoughts.Her head whipped around to find what it was.When she saw nothing she frowned and kept walking.Again it occurred,and she jumped as she saw a faint blue mist.A loud yelp left her as she darted in the opposite direction and dove under a table.
Samara noticed and tilted her head and walked after her.As soon as Sybil noticed her,she squeaked in fear and backed up,only to see the mist,now in the shape of a plumerian,and move back towards Samara.Her gaze softened a bit but remained sad as she moved towards the ghost.
While she may not be able to speak,Zavier had taught her how to telepathically communicate with spirits,and even if she couldn't make Sybil trust her,she could at least help calm her fear of this.She had always been able to see ghost,and they flocked to her because of this.But as a child they had always scared her--much like this one was scaring Sybil.
She stared at it.Hello.She thought to it,and it seemed surprised but greeted her back.I can tell you don't mean harm,but my...friend here gets easily scared.Do you think you could go elsewhere?The spirit agreed and vanished.Sybil's ears perked up and she looked shakily at Samara.Seeing the ghost was gone,her eyes widened at Samara,who had her paw stretched out to help her up.
Taking it,Sybil let out a shy smile as she looked thankfully at her."Maybe your not...so bad....I'm sorry for...you know."Samara just smiled at her.They weren't all buddy buddy,but Sybil was at least speaking to her,and that was good enough.
