[Welcome!]
To the Viscets' Fall/Winter 2015 Artist Comp!
Originally there were to be 4 Artist Comps released per year--one for each season--but with the cramping of events/other developments, as well as just having enough artists for the most part, the 2015 Fall and Winter Artist Comps have been pushed into one.
I will be looking for a few more artists for the adopts, so keep an eye out!
[Rules and Information]
✦ The amount of winners chosen will depend on the qualities of the entries, but I'm looking for about no more than 3 Main Thread artists and, I suppose, any number of Nursery Artists that'll work, probably about 3 as well.
✦ Especially looking for Nursery Artists! You will probably be more likely to win if you apply for the Nursery.
✦ I'm looking for: Any mixture of realistic or non-realistic colors, either will suit fine, as well as enough markings to make it only slightly complicated. I'm not looking for anything too crazy, but nothing too simple either! Looking at the thread's current designs would probably be a good way of knowing just what I mean.
✦ Make yourself a cover. Please put all your entries there, so that I can keep track of them!
✦ No more than 5 entries total: 3 max for Adult, 2 max for Nursery.
✦ There is no time limit on entries; all artists work at their own pace.
✦ No copying, be it other artist's entries, the mascot, or other artist's designs in general, from anywhere.
✦ Please keep to the given mutations and make no personal line edits, unless it is for Hair (an Uncommon Mutation).
✦ You may keep or adopt out your adult designs if you win (unless you wish to use a MYO ticket that you own). To do so, make a cover on the main thread.
✦ Nursery batch entries will not be real and will not be adopted out nor official, those are to be conceptual.
✦ If you need help with acquiring the PNG images or turning the canvas, feel free to ask.
To see rules Staff are required to follow upon being hired, go here, and scroll all the way down.
Please put this form in the Cover of your entries.
- Code: Select all
Username:
Desired position(s): | Nursery | Main Thread | Both |
Why do you want to become an Artist?:
How active are you/can you be in the community?:
How active are you on CS?:
Have you had any experience before in these areas?: (please provide links)
Anything else:
[Adult Designs (and designs in general)]
✦ Viscets may be any color o' the rainbow, though please try to keep it fluid and aesthetic.
✦ Viscets typically have moderately-complicated designs, nothing extremely simple but enough to be unique and recognizable.
✦ Make no more than 3 designs.
✦ Only make purely adult designs if you are actually interested in the adult position.
✦ Know that you will be required to provide the PNG image and a form that includes, at minimum, their name & sex/gender. You will need, upon judging the comp, to provide a link to the owner, the name & gender/sex at the top of the post once it is adopted--this is vital for nursery artists to be able to quickly grab their required information. You will only need to supply the hex codes if you ask for art in the form.
✦ Viscet's eyes ALWAYS have 2 color layers in them; the Outer and Inner, the Inner of which is usually brighter colored.
[Nursery Designs]
✦ If you are interested in the Nursery Position, please take 2 of the staff-owned Viscets below, of opposite sexes, that you would like to try and mix.
✦ Viscet Eggs are white with small spots on them. These spots indicate the baby's color scheme.
✦ Viscets have a system concerning the inheritance of mutations; please see them here. To see their growth times and rules regarding nursery artists, go here.
✦ To know that you are able to use the provided coding, please try to mimic, in some way, the forms used by the current nursery batches. If you need help, just ask.
*Note that Viscets are a semi-realistic species with some realistic aspects. They may be any gender or sexuality and may breed so long as it is realistic/scientifically possible; this includes transgenders, agenders, etc.

If we win, are we required to make a Viscet, say, weekly? owo Thanks! The commissions are short-term, but I may also try for the monthly GA apps for December

There's no limit for how frequently you need to make designs, and I'm open for artists of any time limit; so long as I'm given ample warning for inactivity and you don't just disappear you should be fine, I'm not strict about it. If anything actually, I'm not really looking for super-active main thread artists because the designs have been coming out frequently enough, so I'm not worried about it.
Nursery artist position, however, is a bit more time-restrictive, because you need to be active enough to be able to do the growths on time.

//last thing, I haven't used the vertical Oekaki in a long time, is it normal for it to be sideways when I open the extension?
I've seen Viscets that are like this though, just making sure it's okay with you (I can upload it onto FireAlpaca and straighten it to place in the post.)

To turn the canvas rightside, you use the tool that looks like 2 blue squares tilting with some arrows, right above the Pen tool. You must be using v2.0
I would like for them to be posted rightside, as it can disrupt the flow of how they appear on the main thread.
