Rose's muzzle reached up to touch a violet butterfly, her eyes glimmering with curiosity.
"Hello little butterfly," she whispered. "You're beautiful, do you know that?"
The purple insect merely flitted away into the canopy, leaving behind only a memory of their sparkling scales. "O-oh! Bye!" Rose called, stumbling a few steps after the butterfly.

She sighed and spun around once more and plodded towards the middle of the field, boredom overtaking her mind. Rose's eyes scanned the area for anything interesting to do, and found nothing.

She began to twirl about, kicking out with her back legs to relieve some of her pent-up energy.
"Oh, I wish I had some calves to play with," she thought with a frown. "I'm the only one in my herd!"
