Peasants plodded hurriedly through the streets, occasionally conversing with one another.
Vendors shouted pleadingly to the passersby's.
"Fresh fish!"
"Hot loaves straight out of the oven!"
"Juiciest, plumpest venison ye will ever find!"
Castle chortled briefly to herself and slid past the bustling citizens, her eyes fixed on a grand carriage rolling slowly towards a massive castle in the distance. "Surely they must be royalty!" she thought excitedly to herself.
Castle scrambled swiftly after them, her shining eyes wide with curiosity. "I bet the castle is the absolutely magnificent! I can already imagine all of the exotic animals and plants, all of the expensive metals and gems!" she squealed, thrilled beyond imagination.
Lavender and lilac lined the dark cobblestone road, filling the air with a beautiful fragrance that only royalty had the privilege to smell. Castle flared her nostrils to drink in the scent, a small smile spreading over her features. Sunlight beat down on her velvety back. The skies were blue and the air was refreshingly crisp.
Today was a gorgeous day that everyone could enjoy, even the peasants working in their fields.
Castle acknowledged this briefly and continued on her leisurely stroll through the green fields surrounding the massive fortress in the distance.
"I love it here," she whispered delightedly. "I absolutely adore it."
Suddenly, an urgent buzzing sounded by her left ear. A large horsefly had cruelly ripped Castle from her daydream back into reality.
"Hmm?" she mumbled, swinging her head around in a bewildered manner. It took her only a moment to realize that she was no longer in her fantasy land, and instead, she was in the middle of a meadow.
A few cows from her herd gazed irritated at the young heifer. "She's daydreaming again," one said with an angry snort. A few other cows murmured quietly amongst themselves at this bold statement.
"What business is it of yours?" replied an older cow, her accusatory optics scanning over the small group of gossiping bovines. "Let the youngin' dream. Must be a whole lot more interestin' than grazin' in a dry field, wouldn't ya say?"
"Oh, how right she is," thought Castle with a tiny smile.
