Blossom stepped farther and farther away from her herd, leaving behind it's comfort and warmth.
She desired peace and quiet. A time to ponder anything that she'd like to without irritating calves bounding around the field, occasionally poking fun at her expense.
Previously that morning wrote:"Eeh hee!" one would giggle, plodding closer to inspect Blossom's coat. "Look at all of those spots! I bet she wishes that she had a pure coat like me," boasted the tiny calf, showing off their shining pelt.
"It looks like dirt," another would whisper, causing the other two participating calves to explode into loud gales of laughter.
Blossom would feel the blood rush to her muzzle. How could some calves act so sweet, and others act so bitter?
"That's not very nice," she scolded, her soft pink eyes narrowing with frustration. "I happen to like my fur," and with that, the young heifer spun around to escape the cruel words of the calves.

Suddenly, a black blur flashed through the trees. Blossom's blood froze, anxiety and anger flooding over her like a tidal wave.
"Who's there?" she inquired loudly, her voice surprisingly challenging. Silence followed the young heifer's question.
Then, after a few long moments of pure stillness, a black buck emerged from the trees.
He was young, that was for certain. White splattered his muzzle and hooves, like glimmering stars splashed against a night sky.
Blossom could feel the young bull draw nearer, his curious pale eyes gazing intently into her own. He didn't scan her over like a prize. The black bovine merely stared at her with an admiration and pleasant surprise that sent Blossom's mind spinning. "
What is he doing?" she thought to herself, any previous unease disappearing in an instant.
"Hello," the bull finally spoke, his voice kind and gentle, with a touch of huskiness. "I apologize if I caused you any fright."
He paused, shifting his weight from one hoof to another. "My name is Apollo," he finally said. "What's yours?
