⇐⇐ Art that shows personality to the side ⇐⇐➼➼Username;; Slimedog - Hiya, I'm Slimedog of course. I currently own 5 plumerians that I actively draw and rp with!......▪▪Why I'm Trying;; Ah, well I'd been watching this baby since he was made, when he went UFA I decided to try for him since I adore his design and have lots of ideas for him! I've also always wanted a baby plumerian to develop from step 1.➼➼Name;; Salem Albain - The name Salem comes from Arabic roots and generally means 'peace/peaceful'. His name correlates with his personality as he's always been a very tame and quiet child.......▪▪Nicknames;; Sal/Al/Bane - While he doesn't actually see the point of having nicknames these ones were given to him by the small handful of friends he has, as well as his family members.➼➼Sex;; Biological male......▪▪Gender/Pronouns;; Cisgender male - He/him/his.➼➼10 Words;; ☑ Visionary - Intelligent - Observant ⋞ Dynamic - Versatile - Independent - Quiet ☒ Impressionable - Untidy - Restless......▪▪In Depth;; Salem is a very quiet child by nature and seems to have inherited his mother’s old anxiety. He isn’t per se “shy”, but it does take a lot of motivation and self-encouragement to actually talk to someone. He much prefers to stay in his comfort zone and just observe everyone. He’s also taken on his father’s more intelligent personality, and his mother’s more ‘diplomatic’ way of handling things. He is not someone to be physically aggressive, and normally tends to think things through. Salem is easily able to adapt to new environments and does so with little to no complaints. Because he’s so adaptable this can also lead to him being very easy to mold to someone else’s whims and desires. He tries to be an optimist and see the good in everything even if it may seem to be difficult to do. While he is generally a very quiet and withdrawn child, he can be very boisterous and eager to interact if with his older sister, Zinnia, whom he looks up to with stars in his eyes. When he’s around his older sister he laughs more and is generally happier looking.➼➼Have a Laugh;; The frog. Him itches.......▪▪Frogs;; Salem happens to love frogs as any good witch should. He even has his own pet frog that he carries around (but not at school, and especially not at the cafe his dad works at after what happened last time he brought Croagie in).▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒

- ʜᴜᴏ (ᴍᴏᴛʜᴇʀ) -
Salem is most definitely a mama’s boy, this is because his mother’s a teacher and he is a very knowledge thirsty child. He likes to sit by his mother’s side when she devises lesson plans for her work. Much like with his father, he can’t share his mother’s strong athleticism, but he’s easily able to keep up with any athlete talk that may go on around his mother. He most often goes to his mom to ask questions about whatever it is he’s currently interested in and going on a research kick with.
He also takes more after his mother personality wise with some things as well, and has even picked up a few of her mannerisms. Like said before, he has a bit of his mother's anxiety, and sometimes even has bouts of depression much like her, but his mother supports him like a champ due to experience. He looks up to her more than anyone in the world and would tell you that the definition of everything beautiful is his mom.

- sᴏʟᴇɪʟ (ғᴀᴛʜᴇʀ) -
Salem is more of a mama’s boy, but loves his father quite a bit all the same. He enjoys sitting in the café his father is a manager at after school and just watching his father bustle to and fro as he sips on a chai latte (he’s only allowed to have one after his homework’s done). He doesn’t quite share his father’s love for sports, but is easily able to understand a conversation about them and likes to sit and listen to his dad talk about soccer with his pals. Salem often likes to just sit and listen in on his father’s conversations as he sees his dad as being a very intelligent man, he’s even a bit snobby over his dad since he thinks his dad is the best one in the world.
Since Salem is so shy he really looks up to his father and often wishes he could be as charismatic as him. He often does what most young children do and tries to imitate his father when he interacts with others: his parents think it's adorable. Whenever he's feeling shy or needs someone to motivate him to do something he will talk to his father.

- ᴢɪɴɴɪᴀ (ᴏʟᴅᴇʀ sɪsᴛᴇʀ) -
Salem looks up to his sister with lots of pride. He of course adores her and likes to sometimes brag about having such a cool older sister around as most kids will. He thinks it’s cool to have a teenager around that can drive and go out to parties like what you see in all the movies. He tries to keep up with her more socially active lifestyle, but being an 8 year old and a fairly introverted person makes it a bit difficult. He instead just sits with his sister in her room and tries to understand her odd love for paint. He sometimes tries to help her with her wall of paint, but doesn’t do so often as he doesn’t want to mess anything up.
Much like with any other set of siblings they don't always get along, but Salem really does care for his sister. He often worries if she stays out later than usual while DJing somewhere. He likes to ask his older sister questions about being a 'cool grownup', and can sometimes become a bit bothersome, but he honestly does mean well.
...- ʀᴜᴅɪᴇ (ᴄᴀғᴇ ᴘᴀʟ/'ʙᴀʙʏsɪᴛᴛᴇʀ') -
Rudie isn’t actually Salem’s babysitter, he just happens to be someone that Salem has an affinity for bothering when he comes into the café his dad works at. Rudie is a very gentle man with children, though, and normally tolerates Salem’s questions, especially since the two of them share the same love for make believe things like witches and Bigfoot (they swear they’re real).
Rudie has always been a magnet for small children, and Salem is no exception, he's like a very tall, breathing jungle gym for the young 'witch'. Soleil insists that Salem not pester Rudie, but the relationship between Salem and Rudie is mutual. Salem loves to ask Rudie about witches, bigfoot, and aliens. He also loves it when Rudie tells him stories about his Blair Witch Project-esque adventures. In a small way, Rudie is a kinda bad influence as Salem's tried to drop out of school to 'hunt for witches' multiple times.

➼➼Hobbies;; Salem doesn’t have very many hobbies. The ones he does have go hand in hand with his affinity for witches. In his blissful youth he still manages to believe in magic and fairy tales, so his hobbies include making ‘potions’ and ‘spells’ as a ‘witch’. He even has a cute little witch hat to go along with the rest of his gig. He keeps a moleskin notebook with him and scribbles down cool plants and words he hears to later on turn them into his ‘spells/potions’. He often tries to get his family members to be his guinea pigs.
His only other real hobby that he does regularly is watch vintage horror movies (like The Birds, and the original Frankenstein movie). He loves the classic spooky stuff and finds modern stuff to be too over the top and repetitive. A general favorite of his, even if it’s only a tad bit newer is The Blair Witch Project, for obvious reasons, along with the Pet Cemetery movies. While he’s completely free to watch the old timey movies, he sometimes has to watch the latter two in secret since they spook him a little bit and he ends up sleeping in his parents’ bed afterwards.
...➼➼Interests;; Salem’s main interest happens to be witches, this is because his name is in relation to the Salem Witch Trials, and while he doesn’t actually understand what the witch trials were, or how horrific they were, he knows there are witches and loves them. He likes to pretend to be a witch, and make mud 'potions'.
Salem also has a great interest in history, he’s rather bad at science and mathematics, and even literature, but history remains to be his single strong suit in school. He is mainly only interested in history that involves supernatural things, or history that doesn’t actually have an answer to it (like with North Carolina’s Roanoke Colony, or the happenings with the Bermuda Triangle).
As with most true witches, he also loves frogs. He likes to go outside when it rains and search around small ponds and puddles for frogs to bother.
...
➼➼Aspirations;; When Salem grows up his current dream is to become a witch, if only because he’s still young and naïve. He thinks that he’s going to be able to actually make a little shop of whimsical potions and spells and actually make a living from it. For the time being his parents and older sister play along with his imagination if only because he gets so excited.➼➼Future;; In Salem’s future he will probably go through his school career successfully at the top 10% of his class, and go on to become a historian, as it’s very unlikely that his passion for history and the past will ever dwindle. Salem will also be sure to keep in close contact with his family as well since he cares so deeply for them. As he gets older he becomes a little more reserved than before, but not to an asocial extent, it’s more of a refined sort of reserved, and so he doesn’t often preoccupy himself with finding a lover to marry and have children with too quickly. ➼➼Quirks;; Salem is a rather odd child, that’s no secret, this is also displayed by his odd mannerisms. For example, when it’s raining he will sit outside and fall asleep on the front porch, especially if he’s feeling down or just wants alone time. When in school, Salem needs to constantly be reminded to stop tapping his fingers on his desk, or feet on the ground, or pencil on whatever surface he’s near, he’s very fidgety and often needs some sort of way to release his energy. He is also very clingy and often hides his face in his parents’ sides when he’s embarrassed, or meeting new people. ➼➼Likes;; ✔ Horror movies ✔ Witches ✔ Frogs ✔ Orange ✔ Halloween ✔ ➼➼Dislikes;; ✘ Bright colors ✘ Easter ✘ Math ✘ Being inside all day ✘ Being sick

☾ ☾ -Important Items - ➼➼
↳ Special 'Witch' Hat;;
Just like any other good witch,
Salem makes sure that he has
nothing but the most quality of
witch hats to help him pull off
the image of an all-powerful
being. It was actually just a hat
that came from a Halloween
witch costume package that
Zinnia told him was actually
magical, but only for worthy
witches.
.................................
↳ Old Grey Satchel;;
Salem’s grey bag is
merely just the bag he uses to
store all of his belongings,
it has seen better days,
but he refuses to get a
better bag. He insists on
keeping it as it has a
special aura to it that
draws him to it (he’s
really just a packrat
and refuses to get rid
of old things).
↳ Moleskin 'Spellbook';;
Salem’s moleskin notebook
is the book that he uses to
jot down all of his ‘spells’
(his spells consist of
mixing dirt and grass
together for ‘invisibility’
powers). He got it for
his 7th birthday and tries
to take great care of it,
but it’s a bit hard when
he takes it outside in
the rain to gauge the
effects of his mud
potion.
↳ Croagie (Pet Frog);;
Croagie is just a random frog he
found outside while sitting on
the porch while it was raining.
He decided to just pick the
frog up and keep it as a pet in
order to further validate his
status as a ‘witch’. His
parents are not very fond of
Croagie, especially not when
he ends up in someone’s hair.
He really likes Croagie, though
and tries to bring him everywhere
he can.
.................................
↳ Bell Collar;;
Salem’s bell collar is
one of his favorite things and
he wears it just as regularly
as he does his hat. The bell
is actually plastic, with a
plastic ball, because the
original bronze one was
annoying to his parents
after a while. Zinnia
liked the bronze one
better since it could be
used to annoy their parents.

Salem was currently in kitchen of his father's cafe, helping out his father's staff with the dishes as he tended to do when he got bored of sitting out in the main area of the cafe (Rudie wasn't here today, his friend was in Central America trying to find some new monster that he'd tell Salem all about when he got back). Croagie was kept in the pocket of his heavy coat that he wore, it was starting to get pretty chilly out, and being the scrawny kid that he was, Salem had issues with keeping his body heat. The cafe was warm, though. That was a plus.
He continued to bustle about the kitchen and help out all of the baristas and dish washers, he hadn't even noticed the shifting in his pocket, or the 'plop' sound that Croagie made as he leapt to the floor. Within a few moments Croagie had successfully made his way across the ground of the back kitchen, and escaped to the main area of the cafe.
The small, green frog managed to hop along the ground safely for a few moments, before he made the mistake of launching his cold, slimy body against the bare leg of a business lady wearing a skirt. A shriek pierced the usual calm atmosphere of the cafe and the woman's drink went flying. The hot coffee of course spilled all

over the ground and caused a man in a fancy coat to go sliding across the tile ground of the dining area in a Scooby Doo-esque skedaddle. The fancy coat man was on a (forced) one way path towards the glass doors and managed to collide into another unfortunate patron who was just trying to enter the shop for a quick drink before work. Everywhere else in the cafe people were in a tizzy as everyone tried to help each other out until Soleil came from behind the counter called for silence and calm. At that point everything seemed to have froze.
During all of the commotion Salem and a handful of other workers all clamored out from behind the counter to see what was going on. With a small croak Croagie hopped from the ruin of his doing and casually hop-hop-hopped back to Salem, landing in front of him before looking up at his powerful witch master and croaking once more into the silence. Salem's face immediately flushed as he glanced to his father who had a look of utter disbelief. A small, sheepish chuckle escaped past Salem's lips as he kneeled down and let Croagie hop into his hands, the young boy quickly stuffed the frog back into his place in the soft pocket of his coat. All eyes were on him as his father stared down at him and pointed to the back of the kitchen where the mop and bucket were kept. The witch didn't have to be told twice what to do and did so with a forced pep to his step as his father started to sort the relations with the customers over.
As the young boy retrieved the mop and bucket with a pout, and started to clean the mess that his loyal

friend had caused he let his imagination wander. Instead of the mess he was cleaning having been made in a cafe, he was in his quiet log cabin in the middle of the woods, cleaning up a failed potion. Soleil was just another angry citizen from the town a few miles over that didn't see the amazing wonders of his potions and spells. Within minutes his sour attitude had dissipated as he was left in a inner reverie of magic and mystery. He would deal with the earful from his father later, but for now he had a potion to clean up and fix.
