Preparation

Postby Good.Pointe » Mon Oct 12, 2015 7:17 pm

Rose gathered some ropes and cleaned up her noble stallion, Knight, a black horse with four white socks and a noble and brave, yet sweet and playful personality, and ran free a lot himself. Rose never restricted him from being free, as long as he never went too far, and behaved. He was very loyal, and was a grade horse, or a mixed breed, with Quarter horse and Thoroughbred blood, along with Arabian, gaited breeds, and draft breeds, making him very surefooted, quick, and tough. Rose taught Knight and herself to ride tackless, and she hardly ever rode Knight in tack. He was trained to the point where he could do tricks and easily do any Dressage move. He'd assist Rose in getting the Tharkja that she wanted, along with the person behind the operation, NeriHyuga. She set up the trailer, making sure it was as welcoming as possible. She made sure there was a nice pasture open, and made sure the tack she'd need was ready, along with training aids and equipment. It was almost time to set off. She was nervous, but none the less excited to be participating in such an event.

This was the first try to tame a Tharkja. The first real try i made. I didn't know if it would be a success or not, but i was sure that it would be incredible fun. Rose was already up and in the starting blocks. We agreed on phone what we would need for this little adevnture and i managed to pack two backpacks with all things we would need. The same time i prepared equipment for rose and me, so that we wouldn't get any problems, even if it rains.
I handed over one backpack to rose. She was taking care of her stallion, a really beautiful black pearl. "can you stay near me on the road? especially with the defiles. i don't want any horse to get hurt at this rugged path to the crater", i was worried, because i didn't wanted knight to get hurt because he doesn't know the path beforehand. But the same time i was sure, that diabolo would be able to show him the way. i often used my frisian mare Diabolo if my companion used a stallion and armageddon the paint horse stallion if my companion used a mare or gelding. This would lessen the risk.
I soon finished taking care of diabolo and we could sit up on the horses. "Then let's go, ready for adventure!"

"Yeah, I'll keep close, lets go!" I said taking the backpack I was handed. I put Knight's boots on to protect his legs, coated him in scentless fly spray, and mounted up. As we set off, Knight stepped higher and more excitedly, the adventure was something he was curious about. I put a rope wrapped in polo wraps around Knight's neck, so once the Tharkja was found, I could easily catch it, and Knight's strength would keep the it within grasp. I sat tall and alert, watching for anything tricky in the road. Knight watched our surroundings and stepped carefully. As the road got rougher and rougher, Knight looked down at his feet, watching his step carefully.

I nodded because of her words, then i changed my weight and diabolo moved forward. She knowed the area and so she tooked the best way up to the mountains. This place shined with the untouched nature and we could even see some deers, they looked at us, but we couldn't see any fear in their eyes.
I putted my rope around the horn of the saddle, so that i could use it easily the moment we saw a fitting Tharkja. I often looked back to see, if my companions where still safe and sound. Knight was really carefully and he looked his steps, so that i soon knew, that i wouldn't need to fear that they could get any harm. Diabolo herself stepped over this dangerous path as it would be the most normal thing in the world. But i still remebered the first time we moved up here, we used another path, much harder then this one and i was even forced to dismount.
We got up to the top and after the last short defile we finally could see our destination. the beautiful and wild land extended before us, with its plains, forests and the big lake in the middle of it. "Look there", i said and pointed out to a Tharkja herd, the horses moved in a strong galopp and their goal seemed to be the lake. Maybe they are thirsty. It took me another look to identify them, but i saw the strong stallion. He leaded the herd but because of something, the mares looked like the don't want to get near him, they were holding a distance. It was hard to tell any color besides black, brown and white and the stallion looked like he was black. But i knowed it better, this stallion was a chimera with two dun colors. "It's hibaris herd, then we should avoid the lake for today. Good that unicorns are mostly seen in the forest. Then we should keep going, the descent is much easyer then the ascent, you will see."

"Okay. Knight, walk on." I said, asking Knight to keep moving. As Knight got more used to the terrain, he raised his head up a little. We were getting closer to the forest, and Knight was curious about coming out here. It was much easier to get to the forest, as her companion said. Knight seemed curious about the horses toward the lake, as he'd never seen them, and there were a lot of them, more than he'd ever seen at one time. Even at the stable, there were less horses visible at one time in the pasture. He was twitching his ears like crazy, hearing the sounds of hooves, the tree swaying, the wind's slight blow, and the some whinnies off in the distance. I looked at the beautiful herd by the lake, and a sight of color seemed to appear within the forest. I was looking in awe of my surroundings. "The Tharkjas have such a beautiful territory." I said, still looking around at the beautiful scenery. I talked quietly, so the Tharkjas wouldn't spook. We neared the forest and I made sure my rope wasn't tangled. Knight looked around, curious and alert. He kept his head high and his ears forward. As we got even closer to the forest, I spotted a dark colored stallion. I had my heart set on him. He'd be the unicorn I wanted. "There, look, that stallion. He seems like he's alone.. maybe without a herd? Or maybe his herd is hidden, I can't tell." I said quietly, my eyes locked on him.

Diabolo took the lead again and we moved down to the plains. But we followed the little road, made by many Tharkja hooves, to the forest. I looked at the lake and the herd there, they were really thirsty. Some of them satisfied their thirst, but others, mostly the foals took the chance to play in the water. One of the foals, a wild one with the chimeric pattern of his father, got himself a death wish, as he splashed water in Hibaris face. The stallion shaked his head and looked at the foal with an rebuked face, the little guy lowered his body, but hibari just took a step forward and then striked his hoove with so much power into the water, that the foal got drenched from head to toe.
This was a scene that made me laugh, that brutal stallion can show a whole other side the moment he took care of his foals. But the chimera Tharkja could hear me and he moved his body to the side, so that he could look at us. "Oh... now i'm not feeling to well..", i said and gulped. Rose's knight looked like he was very curious about the horses, but hibari looked like he would like to kill the other stallion. "Let's keep moving", i hurried diabolo into a fast trot and we managed to move away from the herd, so that we could look carefully at our surroundings.
"Yes, it really is beautiful", i answered rose and as we moved closer to the forest. Then i too layed my eyes on the dark stallion, coming right out of the woods. His body was nearly black with white paint patches, but mane and tail got a light cream color and just the lighter brown parts on his fetlocks showed, that he was a chestnut. But the most exciting thing was the long, dark horn on his forehead. "I think we found your Tharkja. It can be that he is a lonely stallion, unicorns seem to like being alone or taking some time for themself", i whispered and loosened my rope. Knight was alerted of the other stallion and the unicorn was the same, fixating this new "enemy" with his gaze. "It can happen that he will try to attack knight, even if he is a unicorn, we need to hurry. I will distract him with the mare and the moment i get the rope around his neck you must throw your own rope. Diabolo will have a very hard time holding this stallion all alone"

(the % rate will decide what horse you will get, but for the rpg story we will go with the best choice ^^)

"Alright. Knight, you ready?" I said, getting my rope in a position to easily rope the other stallion. Knight got a bit nervous about the stallion, but snapped out of it and got curious and excited again. Knight put weight in his back legs, ready to sprint quickly to catch the unicorn. It was a dangerous task, but I was willing risk it to get the stallion I wanted. Knight got ready to easily dodge if the other stallion were to charge. As a distraction was created, I made Knight dart, and I threw the rope. It nearly missed, but it was on the stallion. Knight got a bit more nervous, as the stallion was about to be pulled in closer to him. "Easy boys, it's okay." I said in a soft, melodic tone. Knight calmed down, but the other stallion was still fighting against us. The stallion was almost caught, but not quite. I managed to tighten the unicorns rope, but I stayed cautious. The last thing I wanted to do was hurt an already fiery stallion. I got a bit closer, and my rope slipped off the stallion a little, but I somehow managed to get it back into place, and secured it. He was fighting, but Knight wasn't giving in, and stayed still and calm, not letting the stallion slip away.

This was a hard task. A mare would be much easyer to capture, but a stallion was a whole other story. the only good thing was, that this stallion is a unicorn, it would help to calm him down. But the Tharkja seemed as he wanted to fight with knight, maybe he saw the other stallion as a rival. Rose's black stallion doesn't look like he liked it and he sure doesn't want to fight the other stallion. He must feel the difference in strength between a tamed stallion living in a comfortable barn and a wild stallion living in the merciless wilderness.

But now i used my mare to distract the stallion. I leaded her into his eyesight and the moment he lost sight of knight he seemed to calm down a little bit. But he still showed all signs of agitation and his ears moved back and forth in restlessness. I looked back for a second, to see what rose will do. Then i saw she loosing her rope and i did the same. It was the only chance we could get.
I moved diabolo a little bit nearer to the stallion. He seemed like he was confused about what to do now. It was a whole new situation for him and he couldn't say if it was dangerous or not.

Then we throw our ropes in the same breath. Both got around his neck and in this moment, the stallion was very sure of what to do. He reared up in the air and as the rope thightened he seemed to get even angryer. His target was the other stallion and after he came back down with his hooves, he rushed over to knight. His ears where layed back with such intense, that i couldn't see them anymore on the black fur of his body. We must stop this attack! "diabolo go!", the mare seemed to know what to do in this situation. She moved from walk into gallop in an instant and we rushed past the stallion and behind him. I wraped the rope around the horn of the saddle as quick as i could and got finished just in time. An incredible jerk went throught the rope, as the stallion reached the end of the rope. Diabolo whinnyed because of the pain in her back, but the stallion got thrown back and the attack on knight was stopped. "Sorry girl", i petted my horse and then i moved diabolo backwards, so that the unicorn couldn't move any nearer to knight.
"Do the same, we must prevent him from any more attacks and we must nail him down!"

"Back up Knight, but be careful. We don't want to hurt that stallion, just prevent him from attacking you." As Knight backed, the stallion started to calm down, figuring out that he wouldn't be able to get to Knight. I pet Knight, rewarding him for being good and resisting to fight back. I eased my grip on the rope around Knight and the stallion. "He's a spirited soul. I don't wish to break that. He's wild, and will still get as much freedom as I can allow him. But, I'm proud to soon call him mine." I said, slightly excited, but still calm. Knight whinnied a bit proud of himself, and the stallion started to ease off fighting. "Easy boy, it's alright. You'll be okay." I said to the unicorn in a calm, soothing tone. "We're not here to hurt you, beautiful boy. You'll see, we'll get along well." I looked at the stallion as he calmed down a bit more. I asked Knight to step forward, giving a little slack to the stallion. The next challenge was getting him home. He'd be spooky and nervous, and Knight would be a bit shy toward the stallion. "While he's calming down, make sure everything's ready so we can go home. Let me make a quick phone call to my sister and make sure the pasture is ready for him. The we'll head back." I said, pulling out my phone and calling my sister. "Everything's ready for him, lets go." I said, putting my phone away and asking Knight to turn slowly. "Knight, stay aware, in case the stallion gets rowdy again. Be ready to move away, and move like a cutting horse." I said to Knight, petting his neck. We managed to pull the stallion along, and started to walk toward home.
