► WHAT ARE VOLKS?


Volks are immortal nocturne wolf-like creatures, found by humans in a foreign planet a few years ago. Volks do not breed and the birth of these creatures is still unknown.
Their main features are very long ears and tail, feathers on their cheek fur and tail and long and sharp claws. Their pupils are always the exact same color as the iris, making it look like they have no pupil at all. Their feathers, nose, claws, ear fur and tongue glow in the dark. Their size is close to a wolf's. Volks are very agile creatures due to their slim bodies, making it easy for them to escape in any kind of situations. They can easily swim and climb trees. Volks have an omnivore diet, even though they feed mostly on fruits.
Volks are smart creatures, extremely friendly and curious. Some of them are usually tamed by humans before reaching their maturity. Once you tame a wolf, both you and your wolf receive the same marking on the same body part, representing your bond. Some markings are simple and some markings are complex - the complexity of the marking matches the effort of the taming process.

History:
Jackol was raised in a pumpkin patch, surrounded by other pumpkins, but they were normal. Jackol had always wondered why he had a tail and could think while other pumpkins just sat there and did not have a tail. Jackol spent his first few days of life questioning himself and trying to find answers. Then Halloween came. The one time of the year people crowd pumpkin patches and pick their favorites. Jackol become excited and tried to get picked but many found him to be too small or too covered in vines. One day he saw what they actually do to pumpkins after they had picked one. They carve into them! Jackol could practically hear the cries of pain from his fellow pumpkins. He no longer wanted to be picked and tried instead to attract as little attention as possible.
One day, a human (meh X3) picked up the strange pumpkin and instantly bought it. Jackol was terrified that she would just into him, but instead he kept him safe and gave him a home. She knew that he was something special ever since she saw his tail. It's only a matter of time before this pumpkin grows into something else.

Personality:
Jackol is a very loving and sweet Volk. He adores others and hates solitude due to his lonely days in the pumpkin patch. He is also very sensitive and can easily get hurt or frightened. He is still young so his brave traits have not grown in yet. He is also very playful, though he can not do much since all he has it a tail. He still finds ways to make up games with his tail. Most of all, Jackol is extremely curious. He questions everything he does not understand or know and desires answers for all of them. One would say he is smart since he can take in such large amounts of knowledge, others just find it annoying. His curious behavior does cause him to get into some troubles, but it is true that it makes him smart and allows his knowledge of things to expand.

How I found it:
I found jackol during my annual pumpkin patch picking. I go every year with my family to pick out our own pumpkins. We do not always curve them since it takes a lot of time and is extremely messy. When I saw jackol with his long fluffy tail, I just had to have him. It was obvious that he was not a pumpkin and at first I was not quite sure what he was. All I knew was that he was something special, and before I knew it he was mine.

Why I want this Volk:
I am extremely curious to see how this Volk will grow. I also love halloween and having a pumpkin Volk would be amazing. I find the vines and coloration to be unique and eye catching. I'm having trouble seeing why people wouldn't want such an interesting looking Volk! :3

Personality: Underwood is smart, and very cunning. She loves the fall, especially the chilly dark nights. Her favorite food is Candy Corn, and chocolate. Little is known about where she originates from, and Underwood hopes to find out where she came from. Lastly, she's probably the one knocking on your window at night and laughing softly in your closet. She often volunteers to lead children who's parents are too busy trick or treating, protecting them from the harsh evil lurking in the night. The skull bones on her long tail symbolize the joy of fear, and her feather represents her swiftness.
How I found Her: I have been searching for some beautiful artwork to adopt, and if I am lucky enough to have this beautiful girl, she would be my first adopted oekaki.
Why I want Her: Halloween is my favorite season, and I LOVE pumpkins. Every year my family goes to a pumpkin patch and the night before Halloween, we carve them.

I just recently discovered this species,
and have wanted one since,
but have been waiting for the perfect one,
and now I've seen this beauty and fell in love instantly <3

♣ Anjou has spent her short life being stared at by wide-eyed children. They would come to her pumpkin patch, searching for the perfect pumpkin to carve. Their little feet would pound on the earth, making the other pumpkins tremble, as if they knew what was coming. Anjou, young and naive, thought nothing of the children running through her field, stomping on vines and hooting with laughter. She was quite curious, wondering why they appeared all of a sudden. When the children found their way over to her, some screamed and ran away. Others whispered to each other, and tried to yank her tail off. Anjou, becoming very much sick of this constant torturing, wished one evening that they would never come back. The next morning, while she was sleeping, arms wrapped around her and carried her off. Anjou woke up in a rumbling metal beast, and was soon taken to a safe, warm home, where no little children would harm her again. The large child that brought Anjou home set her right in the middle of the kitchen, placed on a fuzzy little towel with strange looking corn on it. The large child wrapped Anjou's tail neatly around her, and cleaned the dirt off, making her all nice and clean. She has been there for the past few days, taking in her surroundings and watching the strange, yet kind, large child.

♣ At this point in her life, Anjou isn't very talkative. She tends to spend time observing her surroundings, and noticing even the smallest of details. Part of her dislike of talking could be that she's not fully grown, and doesn't really have a mouth to speak with - yet. She makes tons of jokes to herself however, causing her body to shake with laughter. Anjou's personality will build more as she grows, as she's able to really see and experience the outside world.

♣ One evening, towards the middle of October, I was sitting in my room reading a Halloween magazine. Seeing all of the different pictures of pumpkins, I decided that it would be more than alright to go out and buy some. I left, driving up the long, windey road, finally coming to a stop at the pumpkin field. I walked around for a while, trying to find the perfect pumpkin, when something soft brushed my leg. Bending down to swat it away, I saw the tail was orange, and connected to a pumpkin. Excited, I picked up the pumpkin and brought it home with me, excited to see if it would grow into something larger, or just live with a tail.

♣ I would love to take this Volk home with me because I've always been interested in the species, especially when it was first starting up. I love the species design, as well as Halloween, so it's only fitting that I would try out for a pumpkin themed Volk c:
