Brooke is a rough and tumble kind of girl, who's very crafty and is sort of an escape artist. She uses all of these traits to her advantage in almost everything, including what is now called " her biggest achievement." It took her a while to actually realize what she wanted to " achieve ", as she isn't the quickest thinker,, and always needs time to adjust. Her cause came to her when her school required every student to do some sort of " fundraiser ". Of course, Brooke couldn't find a topic she wanted to raise money for, and was not very interested in the fundraiser at all. She shrugged it off, and never worried about it until weeks after the assignment was given. The fundraising event was to come to a close by the end of the month, which wasn't far away, and she didn't even have a topic. She panicked, and spent hours trying to find something worth spending time on. After a few days, she finally found something. She gasped, as it was quite a beautiful and worthy cause. Iberian Lynxes. She was stunned by their beauty at first sight, and immediately wanted to help. As she looked more into the Lynxes, she found out that they are highly endangered. Many subspecies of the lynx have gone extinct, and Brooke was determined not to let these lynxes go extinct. Although not many have heard of them, they are quite beautiful and magnificent animals, especially to Brooke. Being the crafty gal she is, she quickly whipped up some posters and other crafts, such as lynx drawings, woodwork, and even cookies to help raise awareness. With only one week remaining for the fundraiser to be due, Brooke had only raised about 45 dollars, which was surely not enough to save the species. She was almost all out of ideas, until she had an idea. She called all of her close friends and family, and even urged her siblings to help make flyers and signs and hung them up all over the city. She left her phone number on them, so people could call and donate. After about 2 days, not many had called. She was quickly running out of ideas. Finally, she gave one last shot. She called her local news station to ask them a huge favor, to let her on air to explain what she was there for, and why she wanted to save the Lynxes. They agreed, after some persuasion, ( Brooke whining to them for about 10 minutes ), and the next day she came to the station, all prepared and even fitted with a bow tie. She was nervous at first, and then remembered why she
needed to do this, to save the lynxes. She cleared her throat, and the camera man counted down, 3. 2. 1. " My name is Brooke, and I'm here today to tell all of you about the Iberian Lynx. They are one of the world's most endangered big cat, and they need your help. These beautiful animals' numbers are declining quickly, and there are about only 309 left in the wild today. Their numbers have dwindled due to disease and loss of habitat. If this specie died out, they would be the first big cat specie to go extinct since prehistoric times. I'm trying to raise funds to help save these beautiful cats, and with your help we'll be a step closer to saving them. Thank you. " Brooke was shaking like a branch in the wind, but she did it. As soon as she got home, more than 6 phone calls occupied the phones, and she was gaining funds to help save these cats faster than she thought she could. By the end of the week, she'd had over 3,000 dollars to help conservation funds, and she was very proud of herself. It wasn't enough to save the specie, but she was still proud she could help. As she turned in her papers and funds to the school, she smiled and said boldly, " Did you catch my news segment?". About two weeks later, she got a letter in the mail. She opened it, and the letter read, " I saw your hard effort put into saving the Iberian Lynx! They are highly endangered, but we're trying our best to help save them. With your funds, we can now track many Lynx, and we've even tagged one, and nicknamed it Brooke. Here's a picture of Brooke, and we'll update you on info about her whenever we can! " Inside the envelope was a picture of a beautiful Lynx. Apparently it was from a scientist who has been tracking and putting effort into conservation of the Iberian Lynx for years. To this day, Brooke still is very proud of her efforts, and treasures this experience.

Brooke's biggest goal would have to be to end bullying. Sadly, Brooke has already been faced with many bullying issues, and so have her close friends. She's seen and felt how it can tear someone down completely, and make them want to parish. It's one of the saddest things in the world, and she doesn't want anyone to feel like that ever. Although it's a big goal, and seems somewhat hard to accomplish, she'll continue to try to stop the bullying. She's made many efforts at her own school, such as announcements, posters, handouts, and even made a short film about bullying. Even the slightest thing can hurt someone, and she doesn't want anyone to hurt in anyway, so overall she'd want to end bullying and sadness, which seems unreal to accomplish, but maybe Brooke will find a way. When Brooke was just starting kindergarten, already she'd witnessed bullying, and experienced it herself. She had slimeballs in her backpack, her snacks were stolen, and her hair was pulled. She already didn't like school because of this, and was far too young for this to be happening, but bullies persisted. Her close friends even had experience with the bullies, and it was awful all around. When they decided they had enough, they went to the principal. They were all nervous, especially Brooke, as the principal was rumored to live at school, have long fangs, and eat children! But maybe it was worth it, maybe the principal could scare away the bullies.. They knocked, and a friendly and tall, well dressed female parra opened the door. Was this the principal? She couldn't possibly be, she looked nothing like what the rumors said! This was another good lesson for Brooke, rumors are not always true, or good. They all sat down, and asked, " are you the principal?".. The friendly parrapup answered sweetly, " Yes! what brings you to my office? ". They all shuffled in their seats, and none spoke up. Brooke then said, " there are some bullies that have been giving me and my friends trouble.. " . The principal then said, " Ah, I'm sorry to hear that.. Maybe I could help. " Brooke nodded, and gave details about what class, their names, and what they've been doing. " Leave it to me, I think I can help. " as she winked. The next morning, when Brooke entered the classroom, the bullies all approached Brooke and her friends. They were nervous, then they spotted the Principal at the back of them room, watching. The three bullies then stuttered, " We-we're really sorry, we won't d-do it again.. " and then they all ran off. Looks like the principal followed through! This made Brooke feel happy to go to school again, and glad they wouldn't bully them again. Brooke was very happy, and that's what inspired her to strive for the goal, to end bullying. It feels so nice to be able to be happy without worry of anyone hurting you or making you feel bad, and Brooke wants everyone to be able to enjoy themselves without worry. Maybe one day, Brooke will find a way to end bullying, for now, she dreams of a world without it.
