Sol's Blessing

The marking on her shoulder means that she was a child of the Sun. That simply means that her birth was during the Summer Solstice, when the Sun was at its highest. Plumerians born during this time are said to be either amazing at one thing, or somewhat okay at everything. There is no in between, but Solar really hopes to be the best warrior.

Guririk

The marking on her wrist is simply there for decoration, but in ancient times it was known as the Guririk, there to help plumerians always have the energy level that they need. Because of this, Solar has never needed coffee.

Eksudek

Her face markings are the only truly special ones she has recieved. The Eksudek are given to those worthy; the ones who prove themselves to be the greatest warriors. Solar earned hers by saving the babies of her tribe from a hungry eagle. The markings have a basic pattern, but they are always changed slightly to hide any scars. What scars are hidden? That's a secret.

Toni's specific markings represent a strong and passionate feeling to life, and giving life. Not physically of course, but he compares giving life to giving new meaning and insight to others. He is very engrossed in his reptilian studies and loves to share his knowledge with other Plumerians. The places of his markings also hold symbolism; most especially his shoulder. The signification of shoulder is all power. Setting a seal, or symbol, upon your shoulder means that you have powerful ties to the symbol or to what it represents. One of the symbols of his tribe that he was born into was the sun; after growing up and making his way through ranks, Toni eventually became one of the prime candidates for the leader. However, he politely declined, but his tribe still held him in high regards so he was allowed to wear the sun symbol on his shoulder to signify his strong ties to the tribe. The markings on his wrist are common for everyone in the tribe to wear, as are the ones on his face, although his face markings, like everyone else's, have a sense of uniqueness to them.




As for his personality, Toni is outgoing and kind. Because of his extroverted-ness, he may come off as a little awkward, but tries to show that he really cares by going out of his way to make others happy. Most of his time is consumed by his college studies (opiology and psychology, an odd match), but he always can manage to find time for others. Despite being young, Toni is very smart, and has a quick and funny wit to match. This handily goes along with his want to understand how others work. He can read the mood of others quite well and is often not too far from it. To put it simply, the world could be his 'open book'. This may seem a bit odd, seeming as his main interest is snakes, but he seems not to mind what people thing about that. He is a little sensitive about how people think of him, though, and will sometimes seem different one day to the next.




Toni owns two snakes of his own, although has more at his lab, named Tulio and Gabriella (Gabby for short). He has other hobbies he enjoys, such as playing acoustic guitar, singing, cooking, and swimming (especially at the beach where he lives).

❝ sorena is a very caring young plumerian. he is the son of
the chief of the oorleiers. as the only son and heir apparent
he was thrust into leadership at a very young age. he values
loyalty and integrity above all else, and believes in always t
elling the truth and doing the right thing. he has a lot of lov
e in his heart and forgives easily, believing in second and te
nth chances for everyone. however, this isn't to say he's a pu
shover- no! sorena is smarter than he appears and, when pus
hed too far, can be quite acidic. he is primarily a diplomat,
but is fiercely protective of his loved ones. he would do anyt

he tribe. he thinks he would quite like to explore what is be

the symbol on his shoulder represents a leader; placed on the body part in question to symbolize the weight of bearing the concerns of the tribe and his own concerns as one; balancing them on his sturdy shoulders. the circle represents unity; a ring, a continuum, unbroken, to represent the togetherness of the tribe, and yet, the dots represent the isolation a leader feels. the dot in the middle of the circle is the leader, and the dots surrounding it are the tribe, looking to one person to lead them.

the symbol on his forehead is for foresight and inner knowing. the larger circle on his forehead shows that he is a thinker, and the smaller circle inside shows that he is wise and prophetic; able to coherently understand and arrange his thoughts and think about them in depth. the following dotted line that traces the length of his face is to symbolise that he thinks with his head, rather than with his heart. as the lines are travelling both ways from the circle, this shows that he uses knowledge and understanding to rule his actions. the dots around his eye are to symbolise selflessness; a mark that means he sees the needs of others before his own.

the rings around his leg are the symbol of the tribe, for identification. his tribe; the oorleiers all share this same symbol around one of their legs. it is a symbol for where they live; as they are proud of their home. the thickest band represents the densest expanse of forest, and as they thin out, it represents the forest thinning out to become part of the modern world. the ring of dots again represents the tribe and their unity, as it is in a circle formation. it shows that they live in the densest part of the forest, cut off from others, surviving on their own and by their own terms. it a symbol of pride for their heritage, and helps the tribe to distinguish it's own members from that of other tribes.

as for the colour? red has always been a colour that showcases military strength; and this is still the case inside his tribe, which is renowned for it's ferocity in war. they have always been formidable opponents; a perfect mixture of calm and collected tacticians and fierce balls of fearless fury. however, red also has a deeper meaning, depending on the shade. if the shade is darker, it is akin to anger, or hatred, or a war-like persona, as this is the colour of blood. a lighter red, a... happier red, if you will, tends to me more akin to a compassionate and loving soul; as is sorena. the colour of his markings shows that he is a gentle and kind plumie, full of generosity and love for his tribe.

Markings/backstory;
xxxxxLakota was never fond of being alone, but, because of the voices constantly talking in their head, he would never be alone. Not only would Lakota hear his ancestors and others speaking to him, inside his head, he saw the future. They were a seer. Lakota discovered the power they held when they had a dream of a great leader mysteriously disappearing, and later that week, that very leader did indeed disappear. Dakota was anointed a seer in his later teenage years, and has been giving insight on his fellow tribe members ever since. Dakotas markings are from becoming a seer; the tribe would paint markings on the seer, to show them off, in a way. Lakota enjoys his attention very much, although he doesn't like talking to the others. Lakota would grow up to become a great seer of his tribe. Lakota didn't have "friends", he didn't know how to make them, although many of the other tribe members tried to befriend them. Lakota didn't necessarily hate not having "friends". {words: 171}
