Welcome to Crowntail Racers Adoption Agency! Here, you may browse our lovely selection of the infamous Crowntail, a rare
and treasured equine species native to the coasts of Thailand. Lucky for you, our agency specializes in obtaining and breeding
these beauties a little bit closer to home. These beasts range from 10 to 14 hands (3 - 4 ft), and average anywhere from 500
to 900 pounds. Despite their tranquil appearance, they are known as ferocious fighters with harshly controlled dictatorship
style packs. However, they can be easily tamed in captivity, and may even be ridden by their trainers.

CrownTail Special Needs Adoptions wrote:These Crowntails have had a tough start in life and are
looking for new owners to take care of them. We have a few to begin with and others are coming from our
shelter over the next few weeks. Each Crowntail will have something wrong with them, from torn fins and
scars to amputations. Some even have bandages to cover up injuries.

Show Name: Taken by the Claws of the Wild
Barn Name: Amadeus
Gender: Stallion
Personality: Amadeus is a very careful Crownie. Maybe this habit came from his experience from his earlier home, but if you approach to him slowly and let him time to let you know he will become your best friend. He likes to play with the others, isn't very dominant and backs down if anger appears. Amadeus is more a Crownie, who "goes with the stream". He doesn't want s to be a leader but if he finds something good to eat or a good place to rest he doesn't hesistate to inform the others and lead them there. The only thing he can't stand until now are deep waters. Whenever my herd goes to a sea to swim, he stopps right before the sea. His hooves slightly touch the water but he never will go as far as the others. Maybe with some training and with the help of the other Crownies, we can take his fear away.

One task:
And here he was! After the guys from the Crownie Rescue Organization have brought him here to my stable and left a few moments ago i was standing alone in ront of him. My thoughts wandered as i looked into his eyes full of fear and despair. What has this guy gone through? I recognized that my smile passed and also my face expression became sorrowful and sad. Crownie sounds from outside the stable took me back from my thoughts. "Right! The others are also waiting for their breakfast!" I decided to let my new one calm down and letting him discover his own big place with lots of straw, food and a little "river" through his part of the stable for his thirst. I hoped that he wouldn't do anything stupid and hurt himself...
I left him, took the straw for the others, which were outside on the meadow, took some treats and the items for cleaning some very dirty ones, which couldn't resist to lay down in the muddle and roll in it until all white parts are really gone. With that thought in mind i sighed and got to work.
A few hours passed before i was able to look after my new one. While i was cleaning a name came for him came into my mind - Amadeus. Why? I don't know but somehow he looked like one. I smiled and was excited to see him and tell him his new name. But as i approached to his part of the stable i freezed. My mouth open and my eyes wide. The treats in my hand had fallen to the ground...
"The door...?!" I run to the door and saw, that he had managed to damage the lock somehow and escaped. My head moved in every direction in hope to find him somewhere in the stable but i didn't find him. In panic i whistled for Farlan and he came running. Without any equipment i throw myself onto his back and galloped out of the stable. Farlan was my fatest and most persistend Crownie. He also knows ho to gallop with a rider, who hasn't any riding equipment on him.
I was very worried! Where could he has gone? Why has he escaped? Did something happen to him? How are his wounds? Many questions run through my head as Farlan suddenly stopps. I looked down on the floor and started to sweat... "Blood?!" There was a trace of blood, which led around the forest. "His wounds must be openend again! If we don't find him Farlan, the predators will find him over the night! And i'm not sure if he will survive the night as weak as he is right now... Let's go! Hurry!" Farlan reared and started to gallop again - following the trace of blood.
The sun started to set and the sky's colour changed into a bright orange. We haven't find him yet and Farlans pace slowed down because he also got very exhausted from galloping all the time. I decided to take a break near a river, so Farlan could drink a bit and cool down is feet. I discovered some berries to eat but i hadn't much hunger... My wounded Crownies is somewhere in the forest, bleeding and wounded, maybe exhausted and feared... I hid my face in my thights. How could someone like me, who has a herd of Crownies for so long make such a mistake... and that with a "special care" Crownie?! I thought i could handle everything by myself but maybe i just should have ask my cousin if he could help me. He also has some kind of horse species but he is much more experienced with difficult cases...
Farlan walked up to me, his feet in the river and placed his careing on my shoulder. Just in that moment we heard cracking branches and the a loud splash. There must be a great animal walking in the river or something like that. I got nervous because in this forest there are also other great animals than deers and rabbits... in some seasons there are wolves and bears too... and they don't hesitate to kill everything that could damage their young ones.
Farlan stepped right before me and walked slowly up the river. I followed him with a little distance. The sound of leaves in the wind, the splashing of a little river and the tschirping of the birds echoed through the forest but nothing more. I heard my heart in my ears and felt how my body was ready to escape if any dangerous situation should appear right before me.
The sound pf splashing is getting louder and louder. Then we stood right before a bend of the river. Bushes blockd the site. Then... i heard a familiar sound. "Farlan...!" I run towards the bend and what did i see?! There was Amadeus laying in the water, coolong his wounds he got from branches, thorns and his older ones. The great one on his back doesn't bleeding but also didn't look very good to me.
I was reliefed, that we had found him but the next step is now, how to catch him and bring him back to the stable? I looked at Farlan, who first looked to me and then to Amadeus. And then something happend i never saw in my herd before. Especially not with two Stallions. Farlan layed down to Amadeus, so he covered his back and started to snif on his ears, licks over Amadeus wounds on the nose and touched him on his fins on his neck. It looks like he tries to care for him, winning his trust and telling him, that he can trust us or especially him. I was used to see stallions ignoring each other, fighting or living to each other but never doing such things. I just saw it on the females or a pair but never two unknown stallions...
I didn't do a hectic move and sat down on a fallen tree. Amadeus looked worried at the beginning but as time passes he looked confident enough to trust Farlan. As the moon rises from the mountains i decided to try my luck to leading them home. It was early autumn so this night wasn't very cold. I whistled and Farlan looked up to me. With just a look he knew what i wanted from him and he started to lift himself up. His coat was wet and he looks like he shivers from the cold water but he endured it just because of Amadeus. Farlan walked a few steps and touched Amadeus on his flank. Amadeus got nervous because Farlan moved away. At first i thought he wouldn't follow us but then he started to lift himself up too. His feet were also shakey but he was exhausted, wounded and had a long trip until he arrived at my place.
I lead the front, Farlan followed me with a little distance and Amadeus was right behind Farlan. Farlan was concetrated and always looked around so nothing could surprise our little herd.
Because we were on foot we needed 2 hours more to get home. It was middle in the night, the moon bright and just a few clouds on the sky. The stars shined over us and the moon lightened up our path.
As we approached at my stable i opened the doors, which weren't open so Amadeus needn't to fear putting i a thight box again. I told Farlan with a whistle, that he shall go to his part of the stable. Let's see what Amadeus would do.
And i was right! Amadeus followed Farlan in his stable part. Carefully i walked up to them and closed the door. "Farlan your awesome! Good boy!" I touched him on the nose and looked into his sleepy eyes. "There you go" i whispered, took a little electric lamp on for the night and gave him a treat. He layed down and closed his eyes but before he looked over to Amadeus if everything was alright. "I will take of his wounds now. Sleep my boy."
I hurried outside, let the others inside, took the lights on and closed the back doors. Then i hurried in my house were my cousin watched TV. After i told him what happened he helped me getting the first aid kit for Crownies. Like i said, he has a nose for difficult characters.
I showed him the now sleeping Amadeus. His face showed my nothing what he was thinking. "Show me how you would treat him". "Huh?" I was surprised. A few minutes ago he looked like he would do it but now he wants me to do it? "Amadeus didn't like me... i think it isn't a good idea if i go into the stable..." My hands were shaking slightly. Why? I don't know... i always was confident what i did but now... My cousin turned my head in my direction but didn't say anything. His eyes told me more than words he would speak. Worried i took the disinfection and the bandages, opened the door and stopped walking. "Are you sure i can do this.. i mean... he..." "You will never know what happens if you don't try it by yourself" That was the only thing he said to me and he is right... every creature reacts different in front of other or in other situations. I try it!
Slowly I got down to my knees, layed the things i brought with me on the ground and took a look over his wounds. Many wounds are thin and not deept. They just need to be desinfected. But the wound on his back, he got from his life before needs to be more than desinfected... Aagain i looked to my cousin. He just stood there with his arms crossed and watched me. So many questions came to my mind: What if he wakes up and runs away again? What if he attack me? What if Farlan would get hurt because of him... What would my cousin think?...
"You need to concetrate! If your mind is somewhere else than here you should let it be... but that wouldn't be good for him! If his wounds got infected from the water and go bad i don't know if he will survive the next few days without carement."
He is right! I have to focus! I took the bottle of desinfection and started to spary the liquid on his body. God bless that there are desinfection, which don't burn anymore. Armadeus continued sleeping but he won't sleep anymore if i treat his great wound on his neck/back area...
In the next moment after i stopped thinking about it Amadeus lifted his head eyes wide open. I freezed and didn't know what to think... What if... "Calm yourself!" A deep voice approached from my left side. "Remember what i told you about the body language of Crownies in a difficult state?" "Body... language?" I remebered that my cousin teached me week for week about the habit, body language and economy of Crownies before he had to go. "What do his ears say? Look at his breathing, his eyes... what does he with his teeth? Is he under pressure?" Step by step my eyes followed those advices. His ears are forward: interested but not agressive. His eyes wander around in the stable and don't fixing me. His breath is calm and not very deep. All in one he is alerted but not agressive or in a take flight mode. I think because Farlan behind him is calm and sleeps he trusts my intension.
I showed him my hand, slowly but shakey... he snift at it and looked at me. "I'm going to desinfect your wound now..." i whispered and put some of the desinfection on a bandage and but it really slow on his back. First not one his wound to let him know nothing will happen. Then i made a step towards him on my knees. I think i was more frightened know than he was... Carefuly i took the bandage and rubbed it over the wound. Some dirt got out and the dirty fur got cleaned. So no bacteria will do any harm to it anymore. I smiled and Amadeus tried to look at his back to know what i have done. After investigating i sprayed a little bit of the desinfection on another bandage and put it on his back. "Finished!" I smiled and was so happy that i successed that i didn't noticed that my cousin was gone at the middle of my doing. He trusted me more than i did myself... Weird guy! I put out my tongue as he was still there, put my things together and left the stable. I closed the door, looked back to him and saw a whole other expression in his eyes: Gratitude and Trust
"Good night, Amadeus" i whispered and closed the front stable door.

Sorry that it is such a long story! I got carried away ^^'
