in a land made of hills and hidden by great winds, a child is born, and immediately branded with the
insignia of his kingdom on his back. his mother, who died in childbirth, now joins the child's father in
the afterlife. their son, the new hailed king, is to be called 'babel', and he is to be grand and powerful...
from the moment babel could speak and walk, a great pressure was placed on his shoulders. babel, the
boy king, at the age of only seven, began to grow mad with the responsibility thrown upon him. madness;
a nasty, filthy little thing that lurked under his skin and poked its vile little head out on the venomous
words the child would speak. the people of the kingdom grew uneasy around babel and labelled him
untrustworthy, which is a reasonable label. babel cracked under the pressure of his kingdom, and was
soon exiled. with only a cape and a strange set of keys to his name, babel was on his own.
out of the land of winds and into the unknown, babel grew quite feral. he fashioned himself a home of
the sorts, and in his time alone grew to be a young sage of the sorts. at only ten years old, the young
babel was a very fearsome little thing, known and feared by many. none would approach him, and he
would approach none. until one day, two brave souls happened upon him, and with open arms sprung
him the wonderful, lifesaving question of-
"ʜᴇʏ ᴛʜᴇʀᴇ, ʟɪᴛᴛʟᴇ ᴏɴᴇ. xᴅ ᴏ x ʏ ᴏ ᴜ x ɴ ᴇ ᴇ ᴅ x ᴀ x ʜ ᴀ ɴ ᴅ...?"

▶ I ᴄʀʏ "Bᴀʙᴇʟ! Bᴀʙᴇʟ!" L ᴏ ᴏ ᴋ x ᴀ ᴛ x ᴍ ᴇ x ɴ ᴏ ᴡ ◄ ;

babel is a very big soul inside of a very tiny body. he has
quite a sense of maturity for being as young as he is, and
he has a very large presence. he can tend to be very dom-
inant, and doesn't play nice with others. his mothers, who
are pigeon and guinevere, are working on teaching the
little rascal some manners, yet it's a work in progress. be-
cause of his years in isolation and because of the madness
he now holds inside of him from the years of running the
kingdom, babel has a very odd personality. while he does
not particularly care for solidarity, babel is terrible with
interacting with other beings, as you might imagine. he's
quite blunt in his way of speaking, and has zero 'people
skills' whatsoever. he doesn't deal with his own feelings
well, and often lashes out when confused. babel is actually
quite fragile, and easily cries. he gets violent mood swings,
his personality is as finicky as the weather. from the looks
of him, you would suspect he'd be a quiet, secretive little
thing, but he is, in fact, a very very big loud mouth. he
constantly pulls the "well, you know, I was a king once!" card,
despite the fact that it is well known that his reign was ...
unsuccessful to say the least. babel can be quite an ignorant
little thing from time to time. he has quite the mouth on him.

from his short time of being royalty, babel developed a
somewhat snobby demeanor, and can be hostile from time
to time. he often uses honorifics when speaking, and
considers many others to be below him. he's extremely
asocial, acting severely offended or agitated when around
others. babel does not conceal his feelings well, nor does
he really try to. he's quite honest, and will surprisingly
speak openly about everything, except the tragedies of his
past, his exile. he's touchy on the subject, as dragons
often come to him asking him of rumors; "did you really
burn down your entire city after you left?", "is it true that
you killed your mother when you were just an infant?",
"did you really get the sigil of your family crest branded
on your back?", etc, etc. these questions bring up rotten,
bitter feelings, and babel often avoids talk of them.
otherwise, babel is a very moody and gloomy child, and
the young boy never really truly had a childhood, having
to straight away have a mature demeanor. though he's
still as young as he is, and can be naive from time to time.
it's very rare to see babel laugh, and his genuine smiles
are even rare, often offering fake, tight smiles. yet the
young boys laugh is quite something special, like the
tinkling of a bell, and is a blessing to be heard.

on the day that pigeon and guinevere approached babel,
he responded to them quite negatively, acting extremely
hostile and even going so far as to lunge at the two women,
but as the two of them tried to warm him up to them
with sweet, honey words, babel soon relaxed and realized
they would, indeed, help him, and were not his enemy
here. pigeon and guinevere gathered up babels valuables
with him and led him back to town, the young babel
walking between him, pigeon and guinevere's shoulders
reassuringly brushing against his. he felt a sense of warmth
within himself, of...strange intimacy that rolled off of
these two women he'd just met.
as babel grew up with his new adopted mothers, his feral
demeanor changed little, yet his mothers worked passion-
ately on him, never giving up, and presenting him with
aggressive love, and never with anger. they treated him
like any other child, much to his annoyance, but their
sudden affection was so great for him that he found him-
self growing extremely fond of them. though babel
wouldn't admit it, he's started to love pigeon and
guinevere, and they love him just as much, if not more so.

e x p l a n a t i o n ;

babel's edits consist of hair, tail, and leg edits. his hair is medium length, going a bit past
his muzzle, and is shaved on the left side of his head. he also has a ponytail sticking out
at the back of his head. his tail is quite long, and is tied near the end, and he has longer
leg fur than normal, his elbows and hind legs possessing excessive fluff. as babel grows
older, he will also grow a custom horn.babel's main accessories are his keys and the
bandanna he wears around his neck. the set of keys is a reminder of home, and is said to
open up something very very special to the boy. he has yet to find out what, exactly, the
keys open. the bandanna is black, and has his family insignia (aka the wings of freedom)
printed on it. he also carries a staff with a blue handkerchief wrapped around the end.
he wears a tiny jar around his neck, the inside holding dandelion heads, as he's always
held a strange interest for them. his left ear is also tagged.
