A simpler shorter contest and with October and Halloween coming up I figured a themed parra was in order.

There's one catch though.

Part of the competition is naming one of my parras. Here's her link. She grows up to be a circus ringleader and is super playful and carefree. Her father, Hamburg, is often absent with dangerous work so she lives with his parents (her grandparents) who run and own their own circus show. This is her song. Why They Have a Scarf: Salem is a naturally cold parra, even in the summer. His fur is unusually thin, especially on his head and neck, leading to him having to wrap up to protect himself from the elements. He intends to grow out his hair, in order to help insulate his face, thusly why it covers his eyes. He often wears beanies to protect his ears.
Why They Have a Pencil: Salem is a ghostwriter, a writer who creates manuscripts that others later claim as their own. For a more private individual such as Salem, a job such as a ghostwriter, which requires creativity but no exposure whatsoever to others either than clients, is a dream. Salem often takes inspiration from things that happen around him, and thus keeps a pencil on him at all times to write down ideas. Ironically enough, Salem most enjoys writing comedy sketches, even though he rarely cracks a smile, let alone a joke, in real life.
Relations with Your Parra: Salem and [your parra] met when she was struggling to come up with speeches for her circus. She hired him to write her introductions to each act/jokes, as she had not yet come up with her own style of writing. Salem developed a soft spot for [your parra], as she was everything he wanted to be, but couldn't, do to his overwhelming social anxiety. [Your parra] and Salem soon grew past business transactions when she invited him to have a VIP seat for her opening show! Salem found an odd pleasure in watching [your parra] prance about onstage, having the time of her life, saying his words, with her unique twists on them! Was it love? Salem didn't think so. Personality
Skrocker is a very unique little Parra, and from the viewpoint of others she can be very weird, and a bit of a loner. She seemingly talks to herself, steers clear of other Parras, and always giggles at random nothingness. Skrocker also has an adorable lisp that makes all her words sound like a mixture of "thhh" instead of "ssss." Her voice is really squeaky and sweet, sounding a lot like a little toddler's when asking their parents for the newest toy. No one would ever fathom that cute little introverted Skrocker was able to see ghosts. Yes, Skrocker has the family ability to see the dead, passed down to her from her mother. Well, at least, that's what Skrocker believed. It could've come from her father, or her grandmother, or grandfather. Who knew? She certainly didn't, as she was raised in an orphanage. She isn't really sure why she can see ghosts other than her theories, but she knows how. The little swirling ghosts in her eyes. If she looks hard enough in the mirror, she's able to see tiny little souls swirling around, and she believes that they help her see ghosts in order for her to help other ghosts. It's all really complicated, and a young little Parra like herself isn't really to bothered with the complications. She'd rather just sit and talk with ghosts and skeletons all day. They're quite friendly, actually. Not all of them, of course, as some are a little pushy. Like, you're dead, what are you in such a rush for? Other than this, Skrocker is very ADHD, skipping from one topic to the next, rambling on and on about God knows what. She's learned that people don't necessarily like her talking about her ghost friends, and she's been in an asylum multiple times. Only now has she been able to talk freely about them in the Circus, the ring-master allowing her to be one of the many attractions. Skrocker calls her Ghosty on occasion, because when they first met, Skrocker mistook her for one. She happens to do this a lot, not yet perfecting her gift into deciphering between the living and the dead, so this is one reason why she tries not to socialize unless people come up to her. This way she can recognize, considering one party will say, "Hello! What's your name?" and the second will say, "Um, I need help communicating with my great, great, great grandson."

The Pencil
While Skrocker is very busy helping lost souls and all, she still makes time for her
little Ghost Journal. Her Ghost Journal is a moleskin book with blank pages. Well,
seemingly blank pages. Ever since she was in the orphanage, this little pencil had
always been with Skrocker, always finding a way to present itself if even Skrocker
lost it. The lead inside of the pencil was weird, and very heavy. When she wrote
with it, only she was able to see the writing. She pinned this on the little souls
in her eyes, but nevertheless used it to her advantage. Now, whenever she saw
a new ghost that needed her help or just wanted to talk to her, she would draw
them and write their story. She felt it only fair to them, as some of them died
without anybody knowing who they were, and this saddened Skrocker. She
wanted to record their stories, even if she was the only one who could see
them.

The Scarf
Skrocker, already an intriguing Parra, must have something unusual about her little white scarf, right!? Well, not really all that much. The scarf that Skrocker loves and holds dear, and wears even in the Summer, is from her mother. Or, well, whoever her parents were. She just supposes she had it whens he was dropped off at the orphanage, because she can't ever remember being without it. On the inside of the silky folds it has her name stitched in beautiful calligraphy. She likes to believe that her parent's are with her whenever she wears it, liking to believe that they didn't abandon her, but instead died trying to save her, or something heroic like that. This little Parra thinks that one day she'll come across the ghosts of her dead parents, but it's a long shot, especially since not everybody turns into a ghost once they die. Other than being a sentimentality, Skrocker has found that her scarf is the only thing that her dead friends can actually touch. It's sweet really, the ghosts fawning over her scarf, stroking it because it's the only thing they've felt since they died. Skrocker thinks it sweet, really, but she doesn't know why it defies the laws of the living and dead plane, but it seems everything supernatural happens to her, so by this point she isn't really fazed. Her scarf is soft, and she loves it dearly, and it always manages to calm her down as it carries the scent of vanilla and cinnamon, a smell that she believes was the scent of her mother.
