Kissa is a very curious tolter, which
makes her blindness extra irritating.
She often thinks of what she would
want to see if she only had a moment
of vision. At first she couldn't decide,
colors, her friends, the night sky,
the melodious songbirds overhead.
After much consideration, she chose
the thing that would let her see as
much of these things at once. The
aurora borealis. Colors, the night
sky and possibly even a bird.

The Night Sky: "For my whole life, horses have told me I'm beautiful. For my whole life, they have described my patterns, what I cannot see on my body. For my whole life, they have informed me of everything around me - what the pastures look like, what the sky looks like, what they look like - any question I ask gets answered quickly. But for my whole life, I have wanted to gaze up at the night sky, to see if it fit the other horses' descriptions of exquisite beauty and serenity, and just stare at it for ever and ever. The stars, they tell me, are twinkly little things, some bright and some dull, scattered across the blackened sky, like dewdrops spattered against my pelt in the morning. I understand the sensation, yes, but I so want to see them for myself. The moon sounds so haunting, so peaceful, shining silvery light down upon us, ever changing shape. But what do I have to compare all of this to? I have no colors in my world, no patterns, no beauty. I have blackness, and that is all. But I don't let that sour my soul, make me bitter - I dream in color, though I'm never sure if anything is accurate. But I feel, if I could just see the night sky, if only for a few minutes, then my world would have color. Maybe, just maybe."

Answer: Colors. Silhouette, being born blind, has often heard the words used to describe something. How some birds are as blue as a morning sky, how storm clouds are inky black right before a really good one hits. How some flowers can have the barest shading of coral pink while some are as bright as canary's feathers. She's heard about how bright and vibrant things are but she can never tell. Often she's asked others to try and describe simple colors to her but even that doesn't help.
How does one explain the color brown to a horse who doesn't know what brown is supposed to look like? Silhouette doesn't care to see, she's perfectly happy not being able to view the world as her sighted friends can. She would just like to be able to understand, even if it's a little bit, what colors really look like and she knows she can't comprehend what 'cat nose pink' is. She wishes she could and it honestly makes her sad.

Answer: Mystery wishes she could see her true love. She's been surprised that someone could see past her blindness, but they went past that. Her lover was the first one to tell her what the world looked like; well, everything but them self. The quote "love is blind" is true, or at least she'd like to believe it is, but she wishes with all of her heart that she could see the one she loves. It would be such a beautiful sight; a stunning view that would be stuck in her memory forever, even if she could only see it for a second. That one second would mean an eternity to her.

But really, she could just imagine what it looked like based on what she could feel:
The grass would be shining, wet with the morning's dewdrops, glistening in the morning sunrise. This sunrise would be her first sunrise and it would look more breathtaking then anything ever... Or so she'd thought. She'd turn away from the brightest point in the vivid gradient of colours and see her love standing there. She'd be frozen in awe, as she'd never had thought there could be a moment as insanely gorgeous as this one. It would be a scene to remember.

Answer: Birds. Skjöldolfr has a deep passion for music, and he doesn't always get to hear human music. Instead, he listens intently to these things- well, creatures, called birds. He's been told birds are covered in soft things called feathers, have a hard mouth (called a beak), and have tiny stick legs, depending on the bird. Ever since his discovery of the vocals of songbirds, Skjöldolfr has been longing to see one of these musical creatures. At some point in his life, Skjöldolfr inadvertently bumped into a heron with his snout. The heron had been comfortable with the tolters residing on the ranch, but Skjöldolfr had had no idea what it was. Though, returning to Skjöldolfr's dream, he does indeed want to see a bird. Just once would be enough. According to the stories about birds he's heard, his favorite is the usual sparrow.

The one thing Amaranta has always wanted to see is her namesake, the Sugar Skull, and in a greater sense the celebration that made them so popular. Always one for a good party, Amaranta loves all the smells and sounds as well as the attention she always receives for her beautiful coat and wonderful disposition; the mare is a social butterfly, flourishing in the barely-controlled chaos despite her born blindness. But despite the energy and happiness the feeling in the air gives her, Amaranta has always wanted nothing more than to see everything: the bright colored balloons and decorations, the sometimes spooky but colorful masks and outfits that crowd the streets, and the seemingly endless amounts of food and delicacies presented both for the living and the dead. She'd love to see the children as they clambor excitedly onto her back for another ride, or the people whose hands stroke her face and nose so fondly, or even herself in the waters of the fountain, her grey coat and white face decorated with the colors of life, branded with colorful swirls and lines and tears that are so vibrant against her fur. But despite her wishes she's happy to be alive, and even though she can't see the stars, she knows they're there.
