Every so often a well-loved cat will stick around after their death and become a Boo Baby. Some return to their owners, some wander the Earth, but all are characterized by intangible chests and a tail with a matching ectoplasm tip. They may have only three inner colors and six outer colors, and are characterized by these limitations. They are cold to the touch but physically present and if someone so wanted to their little hearts could even be stroked; of course, this is not encouraged, as it's rather a disgusting thing to do and the Boo Baby will be unhappy with your curiosity. They do not experience hunger nor require sustenance but most still enjoy pouncing on things for fun. They breed by touching their noses together which effectively combines their ghostly energy into new beings; given this, a third parent can be involved as well. They usually deliver only one or two kittens per litter.

Some say that when a pet is wholly beloved by its owner it will never truly leave. Most people take this as what it is, a saying born for consolation. Boo-babies, however, bring this statement to life.
Existing solely because of love, Boo-babies are ghostly felines that recognized their owners' devotion and have decided not to pass on after death. Some loyally return to their owners' sides, while others flit about the world, zealously chasing the promise of adventure. Although it's not possible to touch their transparent bits, the rest of a Boo-babies' body is constantly chilly to the touch. That doesn't mean their hearts can't be warm, though (DISCLAIMER: It is not advisable to actually try to touch their heart, as it is physically quite cold and the sensation of someone poking around in your chest around is enough to send anyone into a bad mood)! Though the personality of each Boo-baby may vary, many are excitable, playful, and extremely energetic. Plus, since they don't experience hunger and have no reason to eat, they can quite literally bounce about until the end of time.
Boo-babies exist in a spectrum of colors. Their fur can host up to six colors and their innards up to three, not including those found in gradients. Additionally, the hue of their ectoplasmic tail will always, even if loosely, match that of their innards.
Finally, it is possible for Boo-babies to breed. There can be up to three parents involved, as their breeding consists simply of touching their noses together. This less-than-spooky ritual combines the ghostly energy of each cat involved to create one or two new kittens.

So, are you ready to find a ghostly partner of your own? Treat them with care and you'll have a partner till the afterlife.

• Instead of the warm, purring ball of fur the world has come to love, Boo Babies are always cool to the touch.
  
• It is not recommended to stick your hand through their chest, however, as it is ice cold and will almost certainly launch that cat into a dreadful mood.* (Not to mention, it's quite gross to poke one of their innards.)
  
• Some Boo Babies find their way back to their former owners, while others are perfectly content to roam the world and quench their seemingly endless thirst for curiosity.
  
• Boo Babies no longer depend on food as an energy source. This does not stop them from occasionally chasing and pouncing upon anything they see fit as a form of entertainment.

Contest Entry: Boo Babies are representations of well-loved and cherished cats that, even after their passing, remain in the world. Although some may find their way back to the humans who cared for them in life, others are perfectly content wandering the world and chasing as many birds as their little kitty hearts desire. Boo Babies do not get hungry and don't need to eat, but they are still cats at heart, and many still enjoy chasing and pouncing on various types of prey.
Boo Babies have up to six fur colors and up to three inside colors, and are distinguished from living cats by their intangible chests and ectoplasmic tails. Boo Babies are always cool to the touch, even though they were warm and purring in life. Although it is possible to touch a Boo Baby's chest, you probably shouldn't, because it is even colder in there than the rest of their body and it will also distress them, and you wouldn't want to upset the tiny babies, would you? Even though you want to touch their little tummies, they wouldn't let you do it before and you probably don't want to do it now.
When Boo Babies are ready to breed, they only have to boop their little noses together. This adorable boop combines the ghostly energy of the parents to create new boo kittens. Unlike living cats, Boo Babies only produce one or two kittens per litter. Reproduction is not limited to only two parents, up to three Boo Babies may create kittens.

Boo Babies, as they are affectionately called, are the benevolent spirits of beloved cats that have passed onto the other side. While the specifics surrounding these supernatural phenomena are unknown, they will often return to their previous owners, but Boo Babies have also been known to become drifters after their untimely passing, and can often be seen floating through graveyards and pumpkin patches. Since Boo Babies are not tied down to a mortal body, they have no need for food or drink, but they still enjoy chasing small animals and pouncing on shadows. Boo Babies are incredibly cool to the touch, and while their ectoplasm is visible to the human eye, it is intangible to mortals and impossible to manipulate. The ectoplasm of their tails and underbellies are always the same color, which has led to speculation that their ectoplasm is likely a manifestation of each Boo Baby's soul. While Boo Babies come in many different colors, they have only been recorded having a maximum of 6 main colors on their body, and their ectoplasm contains up to three individual colors. Despite being dead, Boo Babies still have the ability to reproduce through unconventional means. When two (and in some cases, even three) Boo Babies touch noses, the energy of their combined spirits manifests itself in the creation of between one and two new entities.

Boo-Babies are little spirits of well-loved cats.
Some find their old owners, but most just explore and do
normal cat things! These spirits have no need to eat, but some
do it for the fun of it! These little spirits have intangible
chests and ectoplasm covered tail tips! I wouldn't suggest
putting your hand inside on this spirits chest! I'm sure it would
be uncomfortable to the baby, plus they might hiss at you
and inside their chest it is very cold! these ghost cats have a
wide range of designs and colors, but here are the limits! They
have no more than 3 colors inside of them, and their fur doesn't
have anymore than 6 colors! This excludes gradient of course!
Since they are spirits, it doesn't really matter the genders or
numbers of how many spirits reproduce. To create little babies,
the spirits touch noses. There is no limit to how many spirits
can touch noses, but the spirits usually only like to share their
energy with only two other spirits. The result of the two or three
parents touching noses, is their energy forming one or two little
babies. The babies usually share traits from the parents!
