❍ Name: Jé-rouge

Literally meaning 'red eyes' in Haitian Creole, the Jé-rouge are spirits with the
ability to posses people and transform them into vicious lupine beasts very similar
to the werewolf of European legend. Of course... Jé-rouge isn't her birth name. It's
just a nickname she picked up somewhere along the way, and it stuck. It also has
nothing to do with the legend as she's neither a spirit nor a lupine and she definitely
does not have special powers. She just has red eyes.

Excitable, curious, social, artistic, methodical, loud, trouble-maker.

❍ Adult Personality:

Passive-aggressive - While she will not openly speak against a Rukami she
dislikes, Jé-rouge is unafraid to make their life difficult in any number of small, irritating
ways. Procrastinating. Intentionally misunderstanding. 'Forgetting' promises. Yet the
moment they confront her about it she profusely apologizes and insists on making good.
However temporarily. Thus most reasons for complaint are removed and others go away
either unwilling to press the issue further as doubts regarding her intentions have been
placed in their mind, or convinced that she's just a bit spacey. Perhaps lazy.

Observant - Her eyes are ever open, her ears are always listening, and her nose
is ever seeking. It's useful when one's line of work is information gathering, when the
slightest little detail can make a world of difference. Besides, she's learned that one
can have more fun that way...

Open-minded - Jé-rouge is never quick to make up her mind on any subject, or
to rule anything out. First she must hear - and thoroughly consider - all points of view
involved. Then, even once a decision is made, it's never set in stone. New information
comes to light every day after all, and one must adjust to accommodate it. As such, she
is exceptionally good at placing herself in the footsteps of others and seeing through
the eyes of strangers. Nevertheless, this total and complete open-mindedness can
sometimes lead others to call Jé-rouge callous. All opinions means all opinions; those
of the despot and the kidnapper, the thief and the murderer along with those of the
child, the law-keeper, the philanthropist and the saint.

Studious/Curious - Her thought processes is, overall, very critical, and she never
rushes or takes anything at face value. In fact, she absolutely loves digging into
mysteries and ferreting out answers to even the most obscure of questions. When
you stop asking, you stop caring. And you should never stop caring.

Hard to satisfy - Just what it sounds like; her quest is never-ending.

Truthful above all - Never has a lie been uttered from Jé-rouge's throat. Not even
a 'little white lie'. She values honesty above all else and, while she is aware that the stark
truth can sometimes be compromising, even dangerous, she is unafraid to tell it like it is.
So whenever someone poses a question, she answers it to the best of her ability. Of course,
one has to be very careful as to how they phrase the question. Jé-rouge never lies, but she
isn't afraid to dodge, interpret, or misunderstand if there is room for her to do so in her
dealings with fellow Rukami. In her histories however, in the knots of her quipu, there is
nothing to be found but complete, unfiltered, unaltered facts. The past is serious business
after all, and the dead must always be respected.

Clever - That is to say, while she's not the smartest Rukami in the world, she isn't
the dumbest either. After all, she DID devise the obscure knot-tying system that allows
her to keep track of the information she gathers during her travels, which is quite
unintelligible to others, and she is very adept at slipping across territorial borders without
being caught by hostile parties.

❍ Odd Habit:

Ever since she was a small pup Jé-rouge has had a tendency to think out loud. That
is to say... she talks to herself. Most frequently her words are soft and mumbled, not
easy to understand or even catch, although on occasions when she gets extremely excited
about something she has been known to speak clearly and loudly, addressing the thin air
with enthusiasm. Some can find it disconcerting.

❍ Future Occupation:

In peace: nomadic, self-appointed chronicler of histories and myths for her region.
In war: a dealer in information and avoider of close combat.

As an adult, Jé-rouge will wear a Quipu of her own making around her shoulders like a shawl:
