One time in history,
the species of Iqena was known,
but little did people know,
they were about to take over the world.

It was a peaceful day getting ready for battle
Hazel thought to herself.
She had the position of a checker,
an Iqena who flies to an enemy location and checks if
its safe. Hazel's place to check was a wild west town,
out in Arizona that is. Luckily for her, she didn't have
to check a big state, like New York City.
And she was thankful for that, since her
front leg had been hurt last year, when
she was in training, flying around a sharp mountain.
She took a sharp turn, and one of the sharp cliffs and it
sliced her front leg straight off. That was a dreadful moment
for her, but she's far over it by now.

"Im ready captain!" She shouted loudly.
She was officially ready for battle.
She had already checked her assigned
place in the past hour. With some
time left, she decided to check some other
places around it too.
"5! 4! 3! 2! 1! ... Start the battle!" The
Iqena captain shouted. Hazel was off
to a good start, she confused the
villagers in her town, the
humans scrambled to pack their things
and move on to another town, and that
happened to all the other humans too.
But it didn't happen. They all got
dehydrated. The Iqena's
won! "Congratulations my dear
Iqena's. You all fought hard for

When Arusha was very young, a newborn entity, she set out into the world to claim a special place as her own. As with all Iqena, no one knew where she came from or who she was destined to become. It took decades of fumbling along without a true purpose before she discovered a location that called to her - a shallow but serene lake, sporting a glasslike surface and dyed shades of crimson. Upon extending a foreleg to test the waters, her flesh began to burn like acid. This was no ordinary lake. In agony and utterly fascinated, the young female was forced to remove her leg and leave it in the shallows as she retreated to higher ground.

Despite the irreparable damage that the corrosive salt lake had done to her, she could not bring herself to leave the place.

WIP

Over time, her blank appearance blossomed into a myriad of complex patterns to represent her new identity. Shimmering gold for the joy of life that sprung up within her lake, and somber blue for those who passed in her domain.
