story:
The cave-dwellers sparkle like stars, and never did Amiera believe she would find herself in such a place of great magic. At least in her eyes, the magic was real even if others may look upon these creatures and see nothing but animals and beasts. She saw wonders as her squinted eyes looked on in awe. She had been living in this cave for several years now, and her eyes seemed to have adapted to the dark surroundings, for now they were narrowed in fear of the light outside. It didn't stop her from taking to the skies at dawn though, and gliding down to the grassy meadows of the mountain valley in the afternoon.
Fur sparkled as she shook her coat in the entrance of her cave home. She knew the creatures of this cave wouldn't make their way this close to the grand hole of a door. As she journeyed deeper into her cave, she found her thoughts tickled by the memory of a past she knew all too well. It was the memory of when she first arrived here and met the great, glowing creatures of the cave.
Ameira had traveled far in her search for a new home. She did grow bored easily with surroundings that stayed the same her whole life. It was here that a storm had forced her to retire for the night, and the cave was the perfect shelter from such a harsh fate. Without a moment of hesitation, the ever happy Iqena shook herself dry and walked deeper into the cave to evade the mist of water at the cave entrance. The deeper she went, the more she was amazed. The ceiling was covered in specks of blue light, something that made her thought there was a break in the cave's ceiling. At first glance she thought they were stars, but as she moved deeper her assumptions were proven wrong.
A small, rodent-like creature approached her from the darkness. Upon its back was the markings of a fawn, but also the glowing shimmer of luminous wonder. The creature glowed just as much as the ceiling did, and it amazed the young Amiera. "Why hello there little one. I'm sorry to invade your home like this, but the storm has caused me to seek shelter here. I hope this is alright with you." The creature stopped in its ritual of bathing itself, and looked up at the Iqena with a curious expression. It moved closer, slowly, and then as Ameira lowered her head and looked at it more closely, smiling, it raced up her head and onto her back, making itself at home. It began its ritual once more, bathing its face and biting at the matted fur it carried.
Ameira turned her gaze onto the creature, smiling again and laughing a bit quietly as to not frighten the poor thing. "I guess this is a warm welcome, then?" And with that, a friendship was born and Ameira had found no other place to truly call home.
