Paragraph about yourself: hi, i guess, haha. i don't really know how to start this bit xD i'm broken*. i'm a young woman, technically a teenage girl, who is obsessed with the tv show supernatural, and is an active member of my local high school's marching band colorguard (aka the flag spinning girls xD). i've been here on CS for several years, and through that time, i've developed as a person. my primary focus at first was a full collection of all the CS pets. this shifted to becoming totally committed to the roleplay forums. and, as of several months ago, my priority has shifted to adoptable characters. they offer me the best of both of the worlds i was involved in before; the chance to call a character my own, created originally by another artist, since my art skills are lacking, and the chance to fully develop a character through my own writing, something i am passionate about. like previously states, i suck badly at digital art, so if i draw any doodles of my characters, it's typically traditional, and may not be seen on CS since i have no way to upload them from real life to my computer. i am completely dedicated to my characters, however, and order art as much as i possibly can. when trying for another jbd, i ordered around ten pieces of art as art was a requirement. i didn't win, sadly, but was extremely happy for the new owner, as i will be for whomever wins this previous Kalari<3

How often do you RP?: i used to be extremely dedicated to the roleplay forums here on CS. i constantly was finding new RP's that i fell in love with, made characters for, joined, and began to roleplay. of course, most of the threads died off after people became inactive, and i will admit that once or twice i myself lost interest and became inactive myself in some RP's. however, those were all with characters that i completely fabricated out of nothing; the images weren't mine, could be used by anyone really,and so i never fully grew attached to any of them. with actual characters that i own, such as adopts, i grow far more attached to them, as i build up their story, their nature, everything about them. i currently do not own any adopts that i can roleplay with; although with my 3 parrapups i would love to. if, however, i were to win this, or any, jbd i can promise that i would most definitely get involved with roleplaying them, since writing is a passion of mine, and rping would be a way to further expand upon my character and their relations with others.



Name: Kalari Darwin Ulrich
name meaning: when her parents originally picked this name, it was because of the Australian meaning; simply "daughter". it seemed befitting her, being their first daughter and all. but what her family did not know was that her first name had two other meanings, in two entirely different, other cultures. in Iran, the word means "battlefield" and/or "threshing floor". it partially makes sense, with her character, being that if you do anything to hurt those that she cares about, she will declare a war with you; whether it be verbal, behind your back (to ruin your reputation), or physical. she will beat you like the grain was beat in biblical times to separate it from the straw and husks; of course, this could be both metaphorically or physically, depending upon what you've done to anger her. in the Hindu culture, it is the name of their god, who is said to be the "destroyer of the ego and universe". this also fits her. Kalari hates it when others see themselves as above; they are better than her, or anyone else. so she crushes their high ego in whatever ways she possibly can. now, destroyer of the universe, she hasn't exactly gotten around to fulfilling yet; don't worry, I'm sure she'll get there someeeday.
Gender: Female, although she tends to show some masculine qualities at times, she will happily tell you that she is a girl and plans to remain that way forever.

Personality
adventurous/daring - this girl just wants to explore the world and know absolutely everything. is that too hard to ask? yes? oh well, she'll try to do it anyways! it is Kalari's dream to travel to every country in the world; just because she can and she wants to. adventure is everywhere, and she wants to experience it as much as she possibly can! it gives her that rush, that thrill, that adrenaline. that's probably why she can never turn down a dare; literally. she has never, ever said no to someone daring her anything. at all. and because of that she has done some pretty wacky, and some disgustingly gross, things. such as downing a shot of tobacco sauce. kissing the most boys in a day (don't tell her dads!). making a pie out of kangaroo dung but mixing it with pretty scented flowers, than feeding it to someone. the list goes on and on.
bold/stubborn - does this one even need an explanation? it's simply who Kalari is. if she sets her mind on something, there is no way that anyone will convince her otherwise. there can be straight up statistics, data, facts, whatever proving that she is wrong, and yet she still will not budge her mindset one bit. in fact, she'll most likely just block/tune out whatever you say at that moment, and then pretend you never said anything. her beliefs are steadfast; her opinions never-changing; her choices set in stone. she is also a very bold bean, unafraid to speak her mind, no matter where she is or who she's around. she never really thinks about if her words are showing respect to someone older than her, or whatever; she will be straight-up with anyone about how she feels. you can expect her not to fake her feelings and lie to pretend everything's all fine and dandy. if she has something to say, it's a promise that she is going to say it.
friendly/talkative - it doesn't matter who you are. it doesn't matter if you are the loudest person on the planet, or if you are vocally mute. you could be rude and standoffish, you could be sweet but shy, you could even be boring and monotonous; Kalari would still try to talk to you. and somehow, she would find something to talk to you about. she is great at just walking up to a random bean and striking conversation about pretty much anything. she has absolutely no problem with saying hi to others, asking how their day was, or getting to know them on an emotional level. you need a shoulder to cry on? she can do that. you need some relationship advice? she can help you. you just need a friend to make you feel less alone? she can do that, all the while talking a mile a minute. you could be anyone, in any situation, and she will find a reason to talk to you, and keep talking for as long as you possibly will put up with her. she is definitely a beans-bean (a people-person) and hates being alone in the quiet; so even if she has no one around, she can often be heard talking to herself, just because silence makes her uncomfortable.
prankster/troublemaker - every family, or group of friends, has that one person that always seems to be getting into trouble. whether it's for back-talking an adult, breaking a rule, or pulling a hilarious -but forbidden- prank on someone, there always seems to be something. that person would be Kalari. she never seems to be doing anything that she should actually be doing. which her father -Braxton- absolutely hates. he simply cannot bubblewrap her life; she always manages to find a way to escape. if there's a rule given to her, she's bound to break it, even if it isn't the smartest idea. like once, there were some crocs in the nearby river that she always cooled off in, and so her dads forbade her from going, since it was now too dangerous. well, Kalari didn't like that at all. she didn't really think before acting -she never does- and so she snuck out and raced right for the river. she didn't see any crocs; so she went in the water. well, that was a bad idea. she saw a log, and hopped on it, wanting to float around a bit; even worse idea. that 'log' wasn't a log. it was a croc. it was a miracle that she not only got out of there alive, but completely unharmed.
quiet anger/wrath - surprisingly enough, when Kalari gets angry, she doesn't just blow up like one would expect. based off of her character and personality, everyone that knows her expects her to be the type to just start screaming, or even attack someone, when she's mad. but in reality, it's quite the opposite. she will appear to be calm, cool, and collected. she will not speak, not a single word, to anyone around her. if someone asks what's wrong, she merely shakes her head. she will walk away, go lay down in a peaceful place in the forest, and just think. she will come up with the perfect way to get back at you, without you ever being able to tie it back to her as the cause. revenge is something that she considers herself an expert at; but if you asked her for help with your own revenge, she would say she couldn't help you, that she doesn't really know how. it's just a part of the act. whatever she chooses to do to get back at someone for angering her, for drawing out her wrath, you can be sure that she will do one thing; something no one ever understands. she uses black ash and draws a stick figure human, but with four arms; to represent the hindu god of death, the counterpart to the kindu god of destruction.

Mannerisms:
~loudly popping bubblegum - no one really knows where this habit came from; it seems as though it's always been there. it probably started out when she was just a baby; her parents couldn't get her to be quiet. after awhile, Mohatu grew annoyed with her endless, wordless chatter, and shoved a piece of gum in her mouth. ever since then, she has absolutely loved bubblegum; she's constantly chewing it. the only problem is that she is also constantly annoying people with it. you know those people that smack their lips loudly when chewing, and then blow really big bubbles; only to shortly after hear a resounding "pop"? that's the exact type of person Kalari is.
~squeaks when afraid - this also originated when she was a small baby. loud, booming thunder is not uncommon in the Outback; but it is one of Kalari's greatest fears. the night of her first birthday, there was a terrible storm, one of the worst the area had had in years, according to the adult beans. Kalari cried out so loudly that her parents rushed in and comforted her, or at least they tried, by holding her close. she had started to calm, feeling their warmth, hearing their heartbeats, but then another pang of thunder rang out; and she let out another terrified squeak. the noise itself was enough to make both of her fathers start to rumble with laughter, which they tried to quickly shush out to keep her from feeling bad.
~has no "inside voice" - Kalari has always been a loud, confident bean. however, when she was four years old, she ran off to go "exploring" without her parents permission. she ended up stumbling and falling in a small lake; being so young, she couldn't yet scream. she was pulled underwater, unable to keep herself afloat. luckily, her overprotective father Braxton had noticed that she had gone missing, and had rushed out to find her; he spotted her tuff of fur just before it went under. he rescued the baby, who came out spluttering and coughing, but there was a problem, according to their friend, a doctor; her left ear had been damaged by the water pressure. she would forever have hearing damage in that ear, and so she was partially deaf in it; thusly, she learned to talk louder than others, so that she could hear herself. this explains why she has no inside voice, because if she knew how to use it, she wouldn't be able to hear what she was saying. (I kinda based this off of me; my partial deafness haha)
~tail wagging - i know, i know. she sounds like a dog. however, it makes a lot of sense. at times, her dads question whether she has some undiagnosed form of ADD. when she gets too excited about something, her tail begins to shake/wag quite quickly. they noticed this tick when she was three years old, and tried to get it to stop by tying black bells to the end of her tail. they had hoped that the noise would be seen as annoying, and would get kalari to stop wagging her tail, consciously, whenever it subconsciously began to wag. it had quite the opposite affect, however. everyone around her quickly got annoyed with the noise, but she herself loves it, and so when Braxton tried to take it off, she got angry and wouldn't talk to him for days. finally, he recanted, and allowed her to keep the bells. she now wags her tail at random times, just to hear them chime.
~stressed sneezing - yes, you heard it right. whenever she gets too stressed about something, little Kalari here goes into a short sneezing fit. this started back when she was about two years old. she stumbled across a rare patch of bushman's poison; a pretty pink flowering plant that smells good. she stuck her nose right into the flowers, and managed to inhale some of the sap; which is the poisonous part. it tingled funny, and she ran to her fathers, screeching about it. Mohatu recognized the smell of the sap, and quickly tried rinsing her nose with water. but it wasn't working. Kalari began to panic, and her body subconsciously forced her to go into a sneezing fit; it managed to get all the sap toxins out that way. ever since, if she gets stressed or worried, she sneezes.

Family/ Friend Relationships
father braxton; daddy. kalari loves her daddy. she is totally a daddy's girl. well. sort of. she loves him and all that. and when she's in a good mood, and he's in a good mood, then she'll go in with him while his band is practicing and listen and try to play guitar or drums and sing with them. it's really a lot of fun, and the guys in Braxton's studio all love her due to the laughter she causes. however, kalari hates how sure she is that he would rather keep her in a bubble for the rest of her life than let her have any fun, due to his insane overprotectiveness. but she still loves him dearly. she does get annoyed when he won't let her go out and do things she wants; when he tries to control her -by protecting her- but still. if she's annoyed at him she'll just huff off to mohatu to make him jealous. after awhile she tends to feel guilty doing this, and runs back to him to make him feel better with snuggles.
father mohatu; her cuddle bug. I know, it sounds insane, but he's so fluffy that she simply cannot help herself. she goes to him when she wants an escape from one of two things; either Braxton is being way too overprotective(again) and she wants peace. or, she's going through something/feeling down/etc and she just wants to feel the warmth and love of someone that cares about her. regularly, however, she more so just looks up to her dad; he is so cool in her eyes. like a legitimate assassin. who would have ever thought. that's like the most insanely amazing job ever. she is so proud of him that she dies on the inside, unable to brag about his job, since it's kind of a private thing. but she constantly is looking up at him with starry eyes of wonder and awe.
sister aisling; kalari loves and adores her little sister; she would do pretty much anything for aisling. there are times when the two have gotten into trouble before; kalari is the one who introduced her sister to some demon hunters, starting a curious adoration in the sweet girl. kalari often can be found leading her little sister into dangerous/trouble situations; not on purpose. she's just trying to help her escape their confines of bubble-wrapped life and have some fun; you know, actually live for once. the one thing that bugs kalari about her sister, however, is the younger bean's naivety. she can be a bit brash and tends to hurt ais' feelings at times; when aisling is being naïve or innocent about something, kalari will point it out. she just wants to help her sister grow smarter about the real world, but tends to do such in a rude manner.
brother nuka; they have a legitimate love/hate relationship; to the MAX. there are times when the two get along extremely well; when nuka is trying to show her things he likes, to get her more involved in his life, and thusly get her and him to grow closer as siblings. kalari hates when he goes over-protective, a habit he must have gained from their dad braxton, so she often will be found teasing her brother or sneaking around him to avoid his protective nature. true, he isn't as bad as brax when it comes to bubble-wrapping, but he gets pretty close sometimes. because nuka is so large, he likes to toss her around, which kalari absolutely loves. sometimes she'll be found running up to him out of no where; by now, he knows to catch her and throw her; it gives her that adrenaline rush that she loves. the pair get along pretty well and hang out often, except when nuka's arrogance comes out; if he's in one of those moods, kalari will avoid him like the plague until he quits and goes back to being nice(ish) to her.
best friend kaiso; they are two utter peas in a pod. best friends from beginning to end. never not by each others side. always together. always causing trouble. the very tomboy girl (aka kaiso) is very brash and mischievous, but also loves being out in nature; all of which are very similar to kalari's nature. and thusly, the pair get along extremely well. better than well; it was as if they were -mentally- identical twins. if one is found causing trouble, the other is certainly not far behind. they do everything together when it comes to their mischief, but never rat each other out if ending up getting caught. one of their favorite things to do together, aside from stirring up problems, is to go out and explore. they had ventured to practically every corner of the earth together (not really, but they truly hope to some day). they are a pair of adventurers, who like finding new animals that they haven't seen before, or visiting/exploring places previously unknown to them.
unsuspecting friend verona; this bean is known for being extremely friendly but also quite clumsy. the pair first met when verona was wandering about the outback, completely new to the area, and she tripped over a small boulder. well, of course Kalari laughed; who wouldn't? but then she went over and helped the other bean stand back up. however, as she looked at the sweet creature, she noticed that she had an extremely nervous and embarrassed look on her face; she wouldn't make eye contact. before saying anything, that's when Kalari realized that other beans who had witnessed the stumble were still laughing hysterically. "oii, blokes, get a mullet up you!" which was the aussie version of saying 'screw off jerks'. everyone scattered at her pissed-off expression and angered-voice, except the long-haired bean now looking up at her with a smile. "I'm Kalari. What's your name?" "Verona. Thank you." the small bean said. Ever since, the two have been good friends, although they don't get to see each other often, they write letters, thanks to the prodding of Verona.
arch enemy yoichi; "it. is. gross." are the words kalari would use to describe her rival. the pair despise each other. it's not as thought something happened in the past making them enemies; they just have never, not from the first moment, not from day one, ever gotten along. they clash constantly. they bring out the bad in one another. everything about yoichi just itches at kalari's skin. she pretends to be so elegant and refined and lady-like, and yet she is a total annoying bag of dung. they will never get along, and kalari is perfectly content to allow life to go on that way. in her own words, yoichi. is - "well mate, she's a nasty bugger."
