One Thing You Learned In School: One thing that has really stuck with during my education in school was when we had a topic on Space in Year 5. (Grade 4)
Why?: This stuck with me because it really sparked my interest in space and when I finish university I want to work at NASA. I really like space and I know random and stupid stuff about it. So, yeah. That's what really stuck with me during school.

Why?: Well, they drilled this into us for three years straight in junior high. I had taken the technology class in 7th grade and of course we had a huge lesson on it, and then all my other classes basically did the same thing and I was super bored. And in 8th, there was this one teacher who wore a shirt that said "Sure, Wikipedia's a great source! Said no teacher ever." on the day they were doing the ever boring ramble on Wikipedia and credible sources and I swear if I hear that one more time I will explode.

Why?: I was NEVER any good at math but for some reason those type of equations I was beast at an I actually enjoyed doing them so much that when I came home I would play "school" with my beanie babies and print out little worksheets for them an solve the equations lol.. Shh.. I had a good imagination!

One Thing You Learned In School: The ability to put on a happy face whenever I really, truly don't care.
Why?: It isn't academic, but it's been helpful. I, as a person, hate interacting but have to in a normal school environment. I've learned that being able to put on a smile even though I don't give a crap works wonders. The ability to act like I care and not get snippy or rude has been beneficial in the long run and kept me out of too much trouble with the teachers. Before I learned how to put on an act I was labeled as 'Defiant' and 'Rude', but now that doesn't happen any more. Learning out how to act like you care even if you don't makes everyone around you feel a little better.

Why?: Because in year 6, our teacher showed us this video. Me and my friends found it so utterly hilarious that we often begged my teacher to put it on again and again until we knew it off by heart, then we'd chant i at random moment, but it actually helps if you can't remember which one's which.

One Thing You Learned In School: Perhaps not exactly an academic feature, but I learned something that has helped me to survive in this dog eat dog world time and time again - how to ask for help.
Why?: As you can imagine, Im a pretty proud and stubborn man. I always refused people's help and advice, turning it down in the attempt to seem strong. In the end I just looked rude and pretty stupid, but I didnt know this until much later in life. During my time in highschool, as I struggled and battled my way through just to keep my head above the water, I had to work with a lot of awful people. I went to an alternative school after all, what more did I expect? But thats where things went from bad to worse. You see these other kids, they didnt care about any of this, even less than I did. I just wanted to get through, but they didnt even have that motivation. On more than one occasion, I was stranded, lost to a see of idiots with an overwhelming amount of work threatening to drown me out. Over the course of my first year, as the stress increased and I spent more and more time stuck in the psych hospital, I slowly came to terms with something that I had always refused. Im just human. I couldnt do it all, especially not alone. I learned to ask people to help me, to share the workload and persevere. Of course by then it was too late, I had already failed and been swallowed up by the grade curve, forcing me to drop out and jump right into being an adult at the age of sixteen. But I still keep this lesson with me, allowing people to lend a helping hand, never turning down a kind gesture. I just wish I had learned sooner.

Why? I learned it my freshman year and now, as a college freshie, I still remember it since it's used in a bunch of math from simple algebra to calculus and I'm a math nerd

One Thing You Learned In School: I learnt about genetics, including if you're interested: DNA, punnet squares, dominant and recessive, homozygous and heterozygous genes, how alleles interact, about inherited diseases, etc.
Why?: It has stuck with me so much because I paid especially good attention in class, since the subject really interests me and alo I had a really good teacher. I also won't forget it because I use it quite a lot here to help me with horse coats. I'm hopefully going to vet school, and if I do specialise I've been thinking about doing the genetics behind how certain dog/cat breeds are more susceptible to certain conditions and diseases. For example German Shepherd's are prone to hip problems, whereas breeds like pugs, french bulldogs, etc are likely to have respiratory trouble.
