Yes, you can make your drawings on Oekaki in portrait orientation.
Make sure you're using Chibipaint v2.0, as you can't make your drawings portrait in Chibipaint v1.0.

Choose the rotate tool, then rotate the canvas by holding and moving your mouse to move the canvas. The rotate tool is the one selected (box in red) in the image below. (Right row, second from the top)

How do I make my art look nice and smooth? When I look at stuff other people have colored, the markings look smooth, but mine look rather pixilated.

There isn't a right or wrong way for this, and there are lots of things you can try out. I'd recommend fiddling with the tool settings a little more. For example, for the pencil tool:

See how different the brushes seem? You can play around with the opacity, color, try working with different tools, etc. and see what works for you ^^

In the above images, this is the only thing I changed:

Say if you made an adoptable species in sketches and experiments, and you wanted to make a colored in version of it goes in adoptable oekaki, how would you do that? Thank you :)

Uh, I think what you do is hit the colourMEin button, then once it's loaded, make any changes you want, then save and choose the 'I'll come back and finish it later' button. Then finally, go to Adoptable oekaki board and hit 'start a new drawing' after that, you can choose to finish off the drawing you just saved. All you have to do is post it.

Hopefully this wasn't too confusing! It's just how I would do it!

Whenever I try to run oekaki, I can't save, so I tried using 2.0. If i try to use 2.0, it always says it can't verify the certificate. I have the latest version of Java, what to i do?

When i go to color, I'm not able to color inside the lines. All it does is just color over the whole thing. Help?

You might find layers and lock alpha useful. There should be a box named "Layers" when you open Oekaki. You can create a layer by clicking on the "+" button at the bottom of the box to draw your lines. If you'd like to color those lines in, create another layer, and drag it below the layer containing the lines. You'll be able to color without covering the lines!

For lock alpha, you'll have to first color in your lines. Once you've done that, check "Lock Alpha" at the top of the "Layers" box. You'll only be able to color in what was originally colored before you checked the box. For more information, check the front page of this thread. ^^

Perhaps try whitelisting Chicken Smoothie, or uninstalling and re-installing Java again?

For whitelisting:
Oekaki/Java problems & solutions wrote:“My computer keeps blocking Java/security settings are blocking Java”
Java has increased its security settings once again and now requires CS to be whitelisted again. This can be done by accessing your Java Control Panel and adding CS to the Java Exception list. Use the instructions given here:
https://www.java.com/en/download/faq/ex ... telist.xml

This is the site you need to whitelist:
http://www.chickensmoothie.com/

It's important to add the slash at the end!

quick question, what if someone is using google chrome, and when they try to use the oekaki, a pop-up comes up saying that the java plug in is not supported? does this mean we will have to use internet explorer, or is there a way to fix this?
cant make a new account so im giving stuff away
