EHS#5's story wrote:He was not at all happy as each member of the stables were taken away. He was overly protective, and nervous every time we approached him. It took a team of 5 to capture him, and I managed to get him in my trailer and had to trailer him alone. It took us 2 hours rounding him up and parting him many times from other neravontii. I figured getting him out of the way from others will make it easier to trailer the rest.

When I got home I released him into the round pen. You could tell he was in a rather bad mood so I left him alone for a few hours. He was so covered in scars, scrapes, and even his ears ruffled up a bit. He also seems to be missing part of a finger on the tail. This poor guy seems to have gone through quite a bit.

I was worried so I had the vet come over. We ended up using a tranquilizer on him and got him cleaned up and the vet did blood tests, and check over the stallion. She had to do some deep cleaning, but looks his scarring and scrapes are permanent. It was getting near the time for him to awaken, so I stayed in there for a bit stroking him and till he was more awake. Once he was I moved out of the round pen for safety, just in case he was to try and hurt me or if he were to panic.

I spoke to the vet, and she had told me he looks strong and able able to be ridden so long as I could tame him that is.
The vet said he should be able to breed just not as much or as often as a normal stallion. A normal stallion could breed constantly, but is suggested best every or every other week. More than once in a single week could cause death for the foal at birth. He however will go sterile after 10 breedings. But there are doubts he reaches that many so he should do perfectly find as long as given breaks. It is possible he have twins, but impossible for him to pass triplets. Twins will not take up another slot, but he will strictly have to wait 3 weeks to breed again if he has 2 twins with a mare.

Slots will open up very slowly. He is not a mutant, but his dark coat and his strange coloring will however in some way pass down.

Page 1 wrote: It has been an hour and the stallion was already awake walking in circles around the round pen. I grab some shredded chicken, and meet him at the round pen. I hold out my hand with the chicken. Very unexpectedly, he slapped my hand with his tail and knocks the chicken from my hand. He then catches the spreads in his tail before they hit the ground and sniffs them. He tosses it all in his mouth the snorts at me and swooshes his tail and walks the opposite direction of where I stood.

I sighed and just watched the stallion, hoping I could figure him out. It is very hard to understand his personality and his traits... What if his adittude changes, or what if it never does? He looked up at the sky then heard the squeal of one of his members he knew. I had taken home him and another 4. I walked away to the stables toe check on the rest. I had them placed in large stall with a big pen connected. I greeted 303, and removed her from the the stall and slowly lead her to the stallion. I then placed her inside a small pen that I set up earlier.

He quickly moved to the side of the round pen and squeezed loudly. She nodded her her repeatedly and moved to the edge of the pen she was in. I watched the two communicate. After half an hour he was just pacing around his pen, while the mare just stood there. I walked over to the stallions pen and whistled at him. He stomped his foot and swooshed his tail then looked my direction. He snorted and walked a little closer to me and just stopped feet away from the fence. I reached out to him, which caused him to jump and dart to the other side of the round pen.

Page 2 wrote: I sat quietly for up to an hour on a bucket in the middle of the round pen. He mostly just paced or would stand and watch the other neravontii in the distance. He walked over to me curiously when I began to snack on some jelly beans. He stopped and nuzzled my hands roughly. I opened my hand so he could have a share. I slowly and gently placed my other hand on his nose and he leaped and jumped back. So I reached into the bag and pulled out more Jelly Beans, and slowly stood up offering him some at the palm of my hand. He snorted and gave me a glare then walked over slowly.

He was starting to get a bit interested so I walked over to grab the Lunge whip, to of course not abuse but to try and get him to do some rounds. I think it is time to try and gain his trust, and perhaps a little bonding time. I spoke to him as I introduced the lunging whip. I then encouraged him to move around the pen and made run a few rounds before I made him turn. I practiced this a few times then I turned away and slowly walked towards the fence. He snorted then slowly stalked me. I turned around and stroked him on the face and he had finally stayed in place.

I walked over the the fence to pick up a halter and slowly slipped it over his head. I hoped that he had trusted me enough and will allow me to be a friend. I've decided it be nice to keep this boy, but I just don't know what I sha'll call him. I still got tons of training ahead of me though.

To gain some of his trust, I walked him around the pen holding his lead.

Page 3 wrote:I lead the stallion out of the round pen, and tied him to a post. "You know what, I think I'll just call you Dragon." His ears perked and he nodded his head, as I carefully spoke to him. He slowly moved towards me and nudged my pocket. "Did you want my Skittles?" I pulled out a few, but stole a red for myself then offered him a couple. He sniffed then carefully took them from my hand. I reached over to stroke him and he leaped back and started to tug at the lead but had no way to get away being tied. "Shhh it's okay boy." I slowly walked with both hands empty and placed them on his neck and spoke very softly.

Time had past as I socialized with him a bit. I had found that he's got a sweet tooth for fruity candy. I began to stroke him softly on the nose and then reached for the brush and let him sniff it. I then gently brushed him down some. Shocked me, but he actually allowed me to brush him down some. After about half an hour of brushing him, I went to the tack room to introduce the tack.

I set the saddle and bridle down in front of him. But soon as I set it down he started to panic kicking and pulling on the rope. I decided it was best to just let him figure things out. I wasn't going to let him get things his way. After about 2 minutes of him freaking out, I placed some skittles on the saddle. He just froze for a few seconds and sniffed around and slowly moved towards the saddle. He carefully sniffed the saddle ignoring the skittles that I had placed upon the saddle. Took him a minute to remember the whole reason he moved towards the saddle in the first place. He ate the skittles then began to search and lick the saddle.

I let him check it out for a few more minutes, then slipped the saddle pad from beneath the saddle. I let him sniff it and I rubbed it around his neck and back. I then let him sniff it again and repeated it on both sides a few times before actually setting it on his back. But I then also still repeated the steps just with this step added on both sides a few times. I then went for the saddle. He had turned his head to check out the saddle pad and just snorted then looked away. It looks he had decided to accept this change. I picked up the saddle and let him check it out. I then carefully set it on his back and moved it into place. I then tightened it and that is when he began to freak out. I decided to bribe him with Skittles if he behaved. Took a few times of the saddle being knocked off but after about 5 minutes I had finally gotten the saddle in place, and tightended.

I let him stand with it on him, but he bucked and he kicked hoping to get this thing off his back but it just didn't seem to work so he settled. I then introduced the bridle. I carefully removed the halter and kept it hanging from his neck as I slipped the bridle on. I decided to remove the bit and till I had gotten the bridle on first. It was a piece of cake putting on the bridle... But now this bit. Will he accept it? I shrugged my shoulders then gave it a try. I clipped it to one side then held my hand up to his lips with a couple skittles then popped it in his mouth and quickly clipped it to the other side before he could spit it out. He had a big reaction being rather shocked to have gotten not only skittles.

I let him settle for a couple minutes before moving him back to the round pen.

Page 4 wrote: I untied Dragon, and then walked him to the round pen. He seemed to had gotten used to the added weight and tightness. I opened the gate and tied the reins to his saddle. I then clipped the lunge rope and ran him around the pen for 10 minutes. I then moved him to the side to that I could practice weight and mounting slowly just to get him used to the feel. I practiced him on both sides and only gotten as far as leaning into the saddle and patting him on the other side.
Decided before mounting to start teaching him direction and signals. I had to make it as interesting as I could so he'd not lose interest as for we been chilling for quite a few hours.

After an hour of training him I had finally mounted him and stood in place before signaling him. Luckily I had gained his respect first. So it didn't shock me to much that he didn't panic to much. He was nervous but stayed calm. I signaled him to a walk and he obeyed nervously. I only rode him for about 10 minutes then dismounted and untacked him to finally release him after I hosed him off some.
