Background Story::
"Number 3174; Sold!!" The auctionier slams his gavel on the table and begins to announce the next horse to the ring. "A nicely built, young 6 year old stallion. A nice standard chestnut with a bit of white to him. He'd make a nice starter horse for someone! He is broke and rideable. Purebred, he has papers and registration! I will start the bidding at $500."
I raised my hand quickly. He seemed to be quite a shy, but was taking this experience very well. He was alert, but wasn't overly enthused about his present location. I believed that he would make a great trail horse with his build. Bidding e bded fairly quuckly with only one other person bidding against me, but they quickly drooped out, not willing to pay more than $700. I had won him.
"Horse number 3175; Sold!!" The auctionier shouted over the crowd, hitting his gavel on the table once again. "Head on down to the nice ladies in the entrance to pay for your winner and get his papers!" He called down to me before beginning to speak about the next horse in the ring.
I quickly exited my seat, getting the paperwork and paying for the stallion. I began walking outside and around to the pens where the sold horses were kept to be picked up by their new owners. I quickly scanned the rows of small pens for the face of my stallion. I quickly found him, walking up with a staff member. I flagged them down and showed him my paperwork. He handed me the lead and went back to work. The stallion seemed a bit more relaxed outside the building, looking around, ears alert. The chestnut payed me no mind, apparently I didn't register as much of anything to him. I took this chance to speak to him. He then looked at me and listened intently.
He then head butted my shoulder, affectionately nudging me and I rubbed his forehead, scratching him around the ears. He wasn't phased by anything I was doing to him. I began to walk him back to the trailer. It was time to bring her home. Then I realized that I didn't even know his name. I pulled out his paperwork and I scanned though his registration papers. His registered name was All Done Talking. I smiled, how it fit him. He was quiet, relaxed, and didn't seem to be bothered by anyone or anything. He would be a perfect trail horse and companion to some of the more anxious horses on the ranch.
It was time to go home. I loaded him into the trailer quickly and easily, this stallion was so well trained and well behaved, you would almost think he was a gelding! Though gelding him wouldn't do him justice, his foals would surely be just as calm and gentle as he was if bred to s mare of the same temperament. The perfect all round horse. One would wonder why they sold him in the first place. But I wasn't about to ponder that. I was just so happy that I. Won him and got b the chance of owning such an amazing horse.
